A History of Violence

Since I have a nocturnal walk of at least five miles planned for tonight which will require me to be rising at 2:30 a.m., I do not intend to be sitting up late this evening. If my younger brother manages to arrive home from his 'socializing' by the 9:30 p.m. deadline that I shall have in place for him, then I doubt that I will watch more than an episode of one of the T.V. series we follow in common.

Last evening once he made it home I used our Android TV Box to locate an episode of Imposters, then I tuned in the 2005 movie A History of Violence. I selected the movie based upon a 6½-minute (6:27) Tim Larkin YouTube video titled Best Hollywood Movies for Self Defense.

It was a great choice. My sole complaint was my drunken brother's constant blathering ─ truly, the man is in the grip of alcoholic senility once he is drunk, and so he should never drink to the extent that he does. He becomes nearly mindless, and employs the most annoying, silly, high-pitched voices in the mistaken belief that he is being both interesting and entertaining.

One could believe that he becomes possessed, for there is nothing natural about his relentless and unwanted drivelling.

A large reason for tuning in the movie was to try and assess the realistically violent moves that the main character (played by Viggo Mortensen) employed ─ true fight-enders. But my besotted brother would never have caught any of that sort of detail ─ he was blind to everything except his overwhelming need to maintain his pathetic garrulity.

His inability to focus and concentrate often results in him venturing into tangents unrelated to the movie ─ some thought will enter his alcohol-damaged brain and he will start expounding on that, even seeking to enlist my participation. If I absolutely am unable to refrain from involvement because of a direct query from him, I will do my best to limit my response to either an affirmative or a negative if the question required that sort of response. I will not engage him, for it only encourages him even more.

I grew quite angry last evening, and struggled to hold my tongue and not roar out at him, "Shut up, you senile, drunken fool!"

The movie had a number of familiar faces. I thought that the actor portraying the main character's gangster brother seemed familiar, and now I see that it was actor Willaim Hurt ─ I had no idea! He did a superb job as a mob boss.

The main character's wife was played by actress Maria Bello. I cannot claim to have any familiarity with her at all, but now I am interested in seeing some of her other movies.

I must confess that I was strongly affected by her bared legs ─ they seemed magnificently muscled.

The night's viewing concluded with an episode of Saxondale

Alas, I did not realize it last night, but it was the penultimate episode, leaving us with just one more to enjoy.

I have only just learned that a somewhat recurring character in the second series or season ─ a Gay weirdo who calls himself Keanu Reeves ─ is actually Steve Coogan, who plays the lead character in the series, Tommy Saxondale.

Again, I had absolutely no idea!

Oh, Lord! I see that it is after 8:15 p.m. ─ I must finish and publish this post so that I have my evening clear for a possible early bedtime.

I am going to jump now to shows my sober brother and I watched this morning.

The first video was a 40-minute (39:58) upload of yesterday to Rumble: Australia Grace Jones and Canada Pam Deol same Pedophilia Police are Doing Nothing

Although the video was uploaded to Christopher James' (A warrior Calls) Rumble account, the video was actually one recorded by Max Igan (The Crowhouse), so I expect that it was a few days older than just yesterday.

The second video was over an hour long (1:09:54), and uploaded on August 6 to Rumble's Open Mike with Michael Thiessen account: Life, Liberty, and Free Market Economics w/Jonathan Wellum.

In this episode of Mike talks with the CEO of Rocklinc Investment Group, Jonathan Wellum, about life, liberty, and free-market economics from a biblical worldview.

The interview was better than my brother expected, I think.

We finished up with a 45-minute (45:36) HeartsofOak upload on August 18 to Rumble: Dr David Cartland – The Tale of One Doctor Opposing the Covid Groupthink.

This episode we welcome to Hearts of Oak Dr David Cartland (MBChB MRCGP) who is a fully qualified doctor and GP.
He is also one of the most censored professionals in the UK.
Dr Cartland has a 1st class degree in Biomedical science including a year of specialist immunology and microbiology/virology training that included statistical analysis, and it is this area of expertise that has had particular relevance and value in allowing him to professionally assess the mass of government, NHS, MHRA, pharmaceutical and ONS data on Covid-19 and Covid-19 Vaccine Adverse Reactions, which has been published since the declaration of the ‘pandemic’ in UK.
Between his two degrees David worked for a year in the angiogenesis research group at the University of Birmingham and he is a published author in angiogenesis research.
At his graduation he recited the Hippocratic oath.
Part of this powerful oath is a vow.
A vow to ‘Primum non nocere’- first do no harm.
Years of training and sacrifice, followed by many happy years in a professional practice as a highly respected GP, what would make Dr David Cartland question his position within the NHS?
In February 2022 he took the difficult decision to resign as a GP.

Refer to the video and the full description beneath it for details on ways of locating more on Dr. David Cartland. Apparently the video was actually recorded on August 8.

I will finish this post by reporting that I did sun again, taking advantage of the sunny day. I put in over an hour, sunning myself as yesterday ─ my sides, as opposed to my front and back. As I reported yesterday, I had noticed that my face was paler towards my ears that it ought to have been ─ this was due to my practice of just sitting facing into the Sun.

Okay ... back tomorrow, I hope.
