With my younger brother's failure to arrive home last evening by the 9:30 p.m. deadline that I had in place for him, I was free of any obligation to be sitting up and operating our Android TV Box in order to watch an episode or two of any of the T.V. shows that we follow in common.
I was upstairs here at my computer in my bedroom when I did likely hear him arrive home around 10 p.m. or soon thereafter, so that was my cue to get to bed.
Good luck sleeping! The heat and humidity are most oppressive. I lay essentially naked sans any covers, but still I was so overheated that I was lightly perspiring.
I was to eventually hear my wife home following her long workday at the Thai restaurant where she has part-time employment ─ I think by that time my brother had gone to bed, for it seems to me that I was hearing her talking loudly in Thai to one of her sons during the midnight hour. At the time I thought that it was later than that, but after some time and possible short intermittent bursts of sleep, I rose to use the bathroom and drink a quantity of water. By then my wife had retired (we have separate bedrooms), and upon returning to my own bedroom I checked the time and saw that it was something like 1:18 a.m.
My cellphone alarm was set for 2:30 a.m., for I had a walk here in my part of Surrey in excess of five miles planned.
Well, I never did fall back into any sleep; and at 2:15 a.m. I simply decided to get up and maybe have an early start on the walk. Or at least, not be as rushed in preparing to leave for the excursion as I usually am.
My eldest stepson was apparently still up and probably watching videos on his laptop at the dining table, but as far as I know he was never aware of me.
I never did leave early ─ it was around 2:45 a.m. when I left home, and that is a perfectly normal time for one of these walks.
My familiar route was the rectangle formed by 132nd and 148th Streets on two sides, and 96th and 100th Avenues on the other two sides. As shown on this Google Map, the 9800 block would be the centre of that rectangle.
And as is customary, early into the walk I stopped at an elementary school playground to use the gymnastic-style rings there to perform four sets of pull-ups. My repetitions in those sets are remaining steady at 6 - 2 - 2 - 2, but I am intent that I am going to improve at some point and not remain plateaued.
There was to be a major difference in this walk, and it took place as I was trekking along 100th Avenue towards 148th Street. It is not often that I ever see anyone else along that stretch of the Green Timbers Urban Forest, but on this occasion somebody was clearly coming in my direction.
For want of being able to pinpoint just where we coincided, I will just say that it might have been in the 14750 block of 100th Avenue as indicated on this Google Map.
The fellow I encountered was slighter than I, and walking quite slowly. At our coincidence, he ventured some conversation, and it quickly fell out that we had before seen one another in the area at night. I soon enough learned to my relief that he was not homeless, but that he lived in an apartment at the intersection of 140th Street & 100th Avenue (Google Map), and he was often out walking in the local area.
It clearly befell that he ─ Don R. ─ had time on his hands, and was keen on maintaining our society for awhile further. And so he offered to accompany me when he learned of my planned route. He never travelled along 148th Street over to 96th Avenue, nor been on that stretch of 96th Avenue, but since it would be bringing him back within easy striking distance of his apartment, he was keen on getting in a little exploration and continuing our conversational exchange.
I was to learn that he was 60 years old (I am 72), and he functioned to some degree in the capacity of a writer. He even claimed to have been involved in script-writing a couple of the Breaking Bad episodes.
We were to learn a fair amount about one another; and although the walk and talk together was quite enjoyable, I was not keen on the slow pace Don set.
At one point as we walked along 148th Street, I brought his attention to a coyote that was very near to us. Don, it seems, has very poor night vision, so initially even when I pointed it out almost across the street from us, it took him a bit before he recognized that an animal was present.
When we reached 96th Avenue and came back along there towards 140th street, we departed that avenue at Green Timbers Way as can be seen in the centre of this Google Map ─ it starts and angles from 96th Avenue to 140th Street and ends there.
We parted company at a point along Green Timbers Way where I would strike off towards the intersection of 140th Street and Fraser Highway, and he continued on to 140th Street and would then take that street up the map to his apartment home. Nevertheless, I enquired of him an E-mail address, and he eagerly responded, almost doting at the prospect of further association and maybe even future walks together.
Unfortunately, friend Don proved to have very bad penmanship as well as poor night vision. After I got back home (noticing a skunk across the way in the cul-de-sac I live in), I absolutely cannot make out the final two digits of his address just preceding the @ symbol. His address consists of the letters "donr" followed by five numerals. I can make out the first three of them, but not the final two.
I sent off a test E-mail to five possibilities that I deemed most likely, but only one of those did not bounce back with an "undeliverable" notification. Yet all day since, there has been no response.
Don had thought that he could remember my E-mail address, so he did not write it down. I herefor venture that he was mistaken as to the prowess of his memory.
Notwithstanding, it might be that between sleeping during the day, and perhaps other obligations before him, he simply has not had time to be engaging in E-mail, so time will ultimately tell.
And failing that, there is always the chance that we will once again cross paths some early Friday a.m.
I had to hustle after we separated, and despite fearing that it would be well beyond 5 a.m. by the time I was again home, it was but 4:51 a.m. as I stood outside the locked front door.
I was probably back into bed at 6 a.m.
My wife had to work another full day today, and was up by 9:30 a.m. to begin readying. She has quite a drive to get to the restaurant, but it does not open until 11 a.m., so she had sufficient time to comfortably ready for her day.
When my brother and I got together for some morning T.V., I led us off with Christopher James' (A Warrior Calls) upload of yesterday or today to Rumble, a video of over 1½ hours' duration (1:40:37): Exposing Canada Border Corruption.
Christopher's guest for a good portion of the show was a Canada Borders Services Agency (CBSA) officer who has been on stress leave for maybe 1½ years ─ Joseph Patrick McNulty. The man was definitely informative, and boldly outspoken.
After that I tuned in a nearly 20-minute (19:13) upload yesterday to BitChute by The Corbett Report: Conspiratainment Bingo! - #NewWorldNextWeek.
This week on the New World Next Week it's Conspiratainment Bingo as WEF (doesn't) promote AI for censorship; the White House tells social media platforms to censor journalists; and the Moonies conspiracy in Japan is revealed.
The final video that we had time for was almost an hour long (59:31) and uploaded to Rumble yesterday: In The Trenches: White Teachers Get Fired First / Liz Cheney for President? / Afghanistan.
Minneapolis teacher’s union contract states that white teachers would get laid off first regardless of performance or seniority. Is Liz Cheney preparing to run for President? A look back at the 1 year anniversary of the disastrous withdrawal of Afghanistan.
This is the second time this week that my brother and I have watched American patriot Teddy Daniels as a video host ─ we had not heard of him before.
My brother had very little bed rest following the video, and then left for the day to 'socialize'. I had a rather hearty first meal of the day and then a nap.
The morning had considerable cloud cover, but it had been so warm last night on my walk that it topped any other night I have yet experienced. When I first encountered that Don R., the perspiration was streaming down my face, and all of my clothes felt damp.
Following my nap, the Sun was prevailing, so I headed out into the backyard and sunned from 2:44 - 4 p.m. A fair bit of that time there was occasional cloud cover.
We need rain!
I will be sitting up this evening and then I will be watching T.V. with my brother once he gets back home.
