While passing time early last evening as I awaited my younger brother's homecoming from his daily 'socializing', I opted to watch a movie. My choice was 2011's 50/50, featuring the actor who portrayed the youngest member of the alien Solomon family from the T.V. series 3rd Rock from the Sun's Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
It's a little surprising to think that the guy is now 41 years old!
I've always liked the actor since 3rd Rock from the Sun, but he wasn't the reason I chose this movie. I had it on a long list, and probably because Jessica Parker Kennedy had a small role in it. I have been something of a fan of hers since becoming familiar with her as Nora West-Allen, The Flash's daughter; and then when she was a fixture in the T.V. series Black Sails.
And now that I think more deeply on this, I may actually have put the film of a list because Marie Avgeropoulos was listed as having a role in it ─ I have liked her since the T.V. series The 100. But to be utterly frank, I can not recall seeing her in the movie. Her character's name was "Allison", but I remember nothing of her.
Weird.
The main character's girlfriend was played by actress Bryce Dallas Howard, whom I am unfamiliar with. The actress is now also 41 years old. In the movie, I found her to be very attractive; and the scene where she kisses Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character on a porch in a bid to reunite with him (after he had broken up with her for infidelity) was so seductive that I would have undoubtedly surrendered to her.
Another actress ─ Anna Kendrick, who played an emotion therapist ─ was so delightfully cute and innocent that she was a heart-stealer. The actress looked somewhat familiar to me, but I am unsure if I had any familiarity with her name ─ it does appear that I might have heard of her. But I certainly would never have made any association between her name and her face.
I enjoyed the movie. It was very playful and suggestive the way it finished, with the main character and his cute therapist finally dating and alone together at his home for the first time. She asks, "So what do we do now?"
There was nothing to guess about!
Once my brother got home ─ and I almost gave up on him, for it was nearly 10:30 p.m. ─ we watched an episode each of three of the series we follow in common: Riverdale, then Lewis, and finally The Last O.G.
Despite my plans to be up no later than 4:30 a.m. today, I never got to bed until (I believe) just after 1 a.m. Nevertheless, I did get up as planned. And 10 minutes later, I heard my eldest stepson's alarm sounding, for he had to go to work this morning on a 12-hour shift.
He didn't waste much time in getting away.
I had plans to get in a few miles of walking here in north Surrey before doing some grocery shopping at the nearest Save-On-Foods less than a mile from here. It opens at 7 a.m. The plan was to try and leave here considerably before 6 a.m., but I failed ─ it was at least 6:12 a.m. before I got going.
A brilliant, sunny morning! Unfortunately, there were plenty of people walking about over the course of my travels.
Early into my walk I stopped at an elementary school playground to do two sets of pull-ups on some fixed rings, and for the first time this year I managed six complete repetitions in the first set (and two reps in the second set). Now this means that I am going to have to chase that opening feat and make it my new norm.
Speaking of people all about during my walk, I did enjoy one encounter, though, when I was walking a trail leading off from the intersection of 140th Street & 100th Avenue (Google Map) ─ the trail was in the Green Timbers Urban Forest Park.
I was a fair ways along the trail when I encountered a young woman jogging by herself. She was somewhat short, but powerfully built, with gorgeous, muscular thighs ─ she had on quite brief tight shorts that showcased those legs very nicely.
She was bounding along in my direction, so I left her plenty of room to pass, not wishing to give a questionable impression to the young woman jogging alone in a dense forested area.
Unsure of the etiquette, I did not greet her as she approached. However, she took the initiative herself and ventured a "Good morning!" to me as she passed. I laughed a bit and loudly returned the greeting.
That was nice, and gave me a good feeling.
Anyway, I eventually got my shopping done, and was back home to water garden plants in the front yard before coming into the house. As yet neither my brother nor my youngest stepson had risen.
When awhile later I heard my brother stirring about, I shut my bedroom door and sought a nap. I didn't take note of the time, but I expect that it was after 9 a.m. And when later I checked the time following some sleep, it was well beyond 10:30 a.m., so I rose to join my brother downstairs who was watching some T.V.
He didn't invite me until nearly 11 a.m. to put our Android TV Box into action, so I led us off with a nearly 10-minute (9:56) video uploaded to YouTube on July 31 by an account calling itself WARCAMPAIGN: How to Beat ArriveCan App, CBSA Officer Speaks.
That was fairly interesting.
Then we only had time for the last 1¼ hours or so of the video we had to depart from yesterday after watching something like two hours and six minutes of it: Out of Babylon with David Straight - Part 3.

My brother and I of course live in Canada, but the videos in the lecture series keep us interested ─ there are always surprises that have us wondering, and wishing we could know more as it might apply to Canada.
After the video, my brother sought some bed rest; I had a very light first meal of my day, and then I sought another nap. When I later rose, my brother was gone for the day, and I was home alone. My youngest stepson had left for work quite late into the morning.
Desirous of some sunning, I commenced a session in the backyard at 2:52 p.m., and I think it spanned to 3:06 p.m. before I decided to wrap things up and come back into the house.
I then got involved in making a lengthy response to an E-mail I had gotten before I finally commenced work on this post.
And now it is approaching 7:45 p.m., so I am going to consider this post complete for my day thus far. I will be sitting up late this evening watching more T.V. with my brother whenever he gets home, but I might first try out another movie that I have doubts he would fail to watch uncritically ─ he can be almost nasty with his negativity where my movie choices are concerned.
I will likely be back posting about things tomorrow.
