The Power of Love

Early last evening I was able to tune in and watch on T.V. (via our Android TV Box) the 2015 movie Tracers. I did not deem the movie worthy of trying to share with my younger brother ─ he is hypercritical of my movie choices.

I tuned it in because it featured Marie Avgeropoulos in a supporting role.

I recognized the lead actor as being an extremely familiar face, but I could not certainly place why. At first I thought that he might have had a supporting role as a vampire in some T.V. series such as The Originals, but I even thought that he might have been a recurring boyfriend of the eldest Dunphy girl (Haley, as played by Sarah Hyland) on the T.V. series Modern Family.

It was not until late into the movie when the actor (Taylor Lautner) gave a sort of uncertain laugh a couple of times, and I think he even made an expostulation, that finally clued me in ─ I quickly had the familiar phrase "Chief Dan" pop into my mind. It was something the actor frequently said as his character, the cult-raised "Dale", in referring to big Greg Davies who played Dale's reluctant father-figure in the British T.V. series Cuckoo.

Once I was able to place just where I knew the actor from, it seemed almost silly that it took me so long to figure this out.

Initially I was not too fussy about the movie, for the introduction of the small gang of parkour fanatics seemed far, far too contrived and improbable. To be blunt, their skills were simply too phony.

It was not until late into the movie when their crooked older leader was having them commit a deadly robbery for a pouch of diamonds ─ a robbery that quickly fell to disastrous pieces ─ that I perked up to the parkour action. Thereafter, it remained exciting for the rest of the movie.

Overall, once I got over my initial resistance to the parkour gang and their unlikely skills ─ and I do like Marie Avgeropolous, after all ─ I was able to quite like the movie. I just know that I made a right choice in not attempting to share it with my brother.

He never made it home by the 9:30 p.m. deadline that I had in place for him. So from that point I was upstairs here in my bedroom until just after 10 p.m. when I heard someone arrive home (I had been alone till then).

Not knowing if it was my brother, prudence had me shut my bedroom door, and I then readied myself for bed. My cellphone alarm was set for 2:30 a.m. to alert me for my planned minimum five-mile walk her in north Surrey

I think it was probably my wife who had come home following her full workday at the Thai restaurant where she has part-time employment. But my brother was not much behind.

Due to relative overheating, I did not easily find sleep. And when my alarm did finally sound, I was into one of my wakeful bouts. I rose and began dressing, and was to hear my wife emerge from "her" bedroom (we have separate bedrooms) to use the bathroom, but I do not know if she was able to recognize that my bedroom light was on through any crevices surrounding my bedroom door.

I was not out on the street and on my way until 2:51 a.m. ─ a few minutes later than I was happy about. I have previously gotten away as early as 2:43 a.m.

The centre point of my rectangular route would have been the 9800 block of 140th Street as shown on this Google Map, for my route's boundaries were 96th and 100th Avenues on two sides, and 132nd and 148th Streets on the other two sides. However, I did add some distance by deviating from 96th Avenue at Green Timbers Way (Google Map).

And then by departing from Green Timbers Way and cutting past the Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre (Google Map), I was practically at the intersection of Fraser Highway and 140th Street.

I then followed Fraser Highway to King George Boulevard at which point Fraser Highway disappears and we have 98th Avenue on the other side of the King George (Google Map). I did return to 96th Avenue, but I will not describe my route. I just wish to show that by leaving it earlier to follow the Fraser Highway to where it transforms into 98th Avenue, and then returning back to 96th Avenue, I surely would have added a half mile to that five-mile rectangular walk.

By the way, early into my walk, once again I was able to perform four sets of pull-ups at an elementary school playground's gymnastics-style rings to the tune of six repetitions in the first set, and then two in each of the subsequent three sets.

It seems to me that I was back home and outside the locked front door by 4:40 a.m. ... or was it 4:50 a.m.? Whatever the case, I remained outside to water garden plants in the front yard before coming into the house.

Alas, I could have been to bed by around 6 a.m., but I got involved in a lengthy response to an E-mail that I had been sent. As a result, I was probably not back in bed until at least 6:30 a.m.

When I later felt curious enough to check the time it was almost 9:30 a.m., so I hastily rose. My brother would have been watching T.V. for some while, and my wife would soon be rising ─ she usually has to work a full day on Fridays.

As it happened, she rose very soon after I did, and left here by 9:50 a.m. ─ usually, that is around the time that she is often getting up. The restaurant opens at 11 a.m., but it is a fair drive from here.

When I joined my brother and he invited me to put our Android TV Box into action, all we were to watch were two of Christopher James' (A Warrior Calls) latest videos.

The first was uploaded to Rumble yesterday, and was 41 minutes in duration: Canada Calls Out To The World.

Christopher James Huge Zoom Call – August 10th 2022

The second video was nearly two hours long (1:58:25) and uploaded to Rumble this morning: The Power of Love.

I believe in Christopher's sincerity ... but I think he is deluding himself. I hope he is correct, and that he will be spearheading a monumental change here in Canada come September 11; but it just does not seem possible to me. I fear that Christopher has a greater faith in his movement than is merited ─ too many people are possessed of inertia.

I think that he is in for a great heartbreak.

My brother sought bed rest following this video; and after I had a light meal, I sought a nap of my own. My brother was gone for the day when I later rose.

I was dreadfully groggy from my nap, but I went forth into the backyard to sunbathe regardless; and from maybe 2:51 p.m. I think that I likely managed 40 minutes of sunning for both my back and my front. At times, there were light clouds, though.

And I see now that it is well past 8 p.m., so I must bring this post to a close.
