Yes, I am fairly pleased with how my 74th birthday yesterday turned out ─ a nice special supper prepared by my wife, a case of a dozen cans of Cariboo Genuine beer (5.5% alcohol) and a 750-ml bottle of Bacardi Spiced Rum (35% alcohol) from my stepsons, and a birthday card and 1.14-litre bottle of Kraken Black Spiced Rum (47% alcohol) from my brother.
My brother of course was gone for the day early that afternoon, but it was rather nice eating alone with my wife at the dining table early in the evening (her two sons ate in their den area where they can watch videos).
She had complained of feeling worse that day from a possible viral infection than she has since she first noticed symptoms as much as a week ago, so I gave her three nutritional supplements. Midday today when I lunched with her and she claimed to be feeling better, I added a fourth supplement and also gave her some liquid ivermectin, but I have no idea if she took them.
But returning to last evening, after she went upstairs to begin the process of readying for a well pre-9 p.m. bedtime, I tuned in a half hour (30:57) YouTube video that contained two matches by the same combatants ─ both matches were in 2021. It had been uploaded to the ONE Championship channel this past September 27: Epic Rematch π³ Stamp Fairtex Exacts REVENGE On Alyona Rassohyna.
Before former atomweight Muay Thai and kickboxing queen Stamp Fairtex faces South Korean star Ham Seo Hee for the ONE Interim Women's Atomweight MMA World Title at ONE Fight Night 14 on Prime Video, relive both of her hard-fought encounters with Ukrainian grappling specialist Alyona Rassohyna in 2021!
This was the first time that I have seen Stamp look decidedly larger than an opponent, so I sort of found myself rooting a little for the astoundingly tough combatant from Ukraine.
These ladies have gorgeously fit bodies!
Stamp was interpreted to have 'tapped' to yield in submission with just several seconds remaining in the match, but she protested vehemently that she had not done so. It did rather look as if she was giving the 'tap' of her glove to Alyona's body, but I suppose that it is always possible that it was an inadvertent bit of reflexive movement of her forearm in the awkward posture she was finding herself in.
As for exacting "revenge" in the second fight, that was hardly the case. It went the distance, and the judges rendered the split decision to her ─ Stamp could have as easily come out on the short end of that decision. Had I not already been led by the video title to expect that Stamp was going to win the match, I honestly would have had no idea who was going to be awarded the victory.
That bout was on September 3, 2021; and it seems that Alyona has not fought since.
Anyway!
I now forget last evening's bedtime, but it may have exceeded 9:30 p.m. despite best intentions ─ actually, 9:45 p.m. does come to mind; and my cellphone alarm was set for 1:30 a.m. to get me up to ready for a five-mile+ walk.
I suppose that I felt 'average' when my alarm chimed. My younger brother was still watching T.V. downstairs and had some interference where my readying was concerned, but he finally retired to his bedroom for the night around 1:45 - 1:50 a.m. and I was liberated to ready openly. I am now a little uncertain, but I do not recall that anyone else was still up.
An online check had revealed the temperature hereabouts to be 8.9° Celsius (48.02° F.), so I wore a heavy denim jacket. Fully clothed with it on, I believe that I weighed barely under 190 pounds ─ possibly as low as 189 pounds.
It was 1:57 a.m. once I was outside and on my way. The sky was clear and moonless.
About three or four blocks from here, I was to find the equipment at the elementary school playground (where I would be engaging some sets of pull-ups and chin-ups) to be wet with dew, so I had to wipe a metal bar dry enough to exercise with bare-handed.
But I did wear my jacket.
Evidently I overstrained my left elbow region 24 hours earlier, for in attempting the first pull-up this time, I seized up and could not complete even half of it. Thereafter with a short recovery break, I could do the exercises, but I was impaired of will and ability.
Rather than force myself overmuch, I settled on a set of three pull-ups; five sets of two pull-ups or chin-ups apiece; and then three final sets of a pull-up or chin-up each, the very last pull-up being held at highest elevation for a 15-count.
And of course, I finished with 10 slow full-range push-ups in a declined posture on a cement ramp.
As for the walk, I never had to make any detours or avoidances, but I was wearing my poorly conceived no-name AliExpress hikers that actually inhibit my ability to walk, so speed was not a feature this time. Even so, it was only 4 a.m. by the time I was back home, so this was exceptional for that pair of footwear.
I did not return to bed until ... gosh, might it have been ahead of 5:30 a.m.? Maybe even 5:15 a.m.? Maybe.
My morning began around 8:30 a.m. My brother had not yet emerged from his bedroom, but he did do so after 20 minutes at most.
We got together for some morning T.V. just after 9 a.m., but he did not surrender the T.V. to me until maybe 9:15 a.m. At that I put our Android TV Box to work and tuned in a 1¾-hour (1:43:06) video added yesterday to Rumble's Sunfellow On COVID-19 channel: Bret Weinstein Interviews Efrat Fenigson - Israel & Hamas: Beyond The Obvious.
Efrat Fenigson is an independent Journalist, Podcaster, Israeli Citizen & Covid dissident. In the wake of the October 7th terrorist attacks on Israel, she has provided insight into the situation from inside Israel on X (Twitter). Bret and Efrat discuss the current state of affairs and the situation unfolding as we speak.
Due to the timely nature of this episode, it is important to note that this was filmed at 8PM Israel time on October 10, 2023, and released several hours later.
It is also of note that at the end of this recording, Efrat hears the sounds of rockets going off nearby. However, there was also construction noise near Bret during the entire duration of the episode, not to be confused with sounds of war.

I am most impressed by Israeli journalist Efrat Fenigson. She has a mind as beautiful as is she.
We only watched two further videos, both of which I had previously recorded.
The first was short (7:51), and had been uploaded on December 14, 2021, to YouTube's History at The OK Corral channel: John Colter vs. The Blackfoot: The True Story of Colter's Run.
A legendary mountain man is taken prisoner and made to run for his life.
The final video had been added to BitChute's bluedemon218 channel back on August 29, 2020, and was ¾ hours (48:14): Rasputin The Devil Incarnate.
A Russian mystic and self-proclaimed holy man who befriended the family of Nicholas II, the last emperor of Russia, and gained considerable influence in late imperial Russia.
Been described as a monk or as a "strannik" (wanderer or pilgrim), though he held no official position in the Russian Orthodox Church. He traveled to St. Petersburg in 1903 or the winter of 1904–1905, where he captivated some church and social leaders. He became a society figure and met Emperor Nicholas and Empress Alexandra in November 1905.
In late 1906, Rasputin began acting as a healer for the imperial couple's only son, Alexei, who suffered from hemophilia. He was a divisive figure at court, seen by some Russians as a mystic, visionary, and prophet, and by others as a religious charlatan.
Assassination was attempted three times on Rasputin, by the end of the 3rd and being thrown in a frozen river is body would be found several days later and the two men responsible would be exiled.
Oh darn, it is already after 9 p.m., and I must ready for bed ─ I must rise again at 1:30 a.m. for another walk.
My wife was home this sunny day until I had my unusually long early afternoon nap, probably compensating for being excessively ill slept arising from my folly of two evenings ago. I never rose from my bed this afternoon until after 4 p.m., and she was gone ─ I had been abed since maybe 1:30 p.m.
Did she have to work the latter part of today at the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time? After a mid-afternoon closure break, it reopens at 4:30 p.m. She said nothing to me about having to work, nor did her eldest son know.
I am still with pressure in the back of my skull that is felt when I bend down ─ the remainder of a bit of stress or eyestrain headache suffered throughout yesterday.
Had I felt better, I meant to hike the mile to visit The Shoe Warehouse to investigate their line of boots, but that is now going to have to wait until at least next week.
As well, had my wife not been home for the first half of the day, I might have otherwise freed up the latter half of my day ─ I was expecting that she was going to be home.
I must quit this post here ─ there is no further time.
