To my considerable ire last evening, barely past 9 p.m. while I was watching a Christmas movie, I noticed my younger brother arriving home from his daily socializing. I hastily shut down everything relating to the movie, the Android TV Box, and the T.V.; then turned on the stereo and hustled on upstairs to my bedroom, still fuming that I was going to have to watch the remainder of the movie the following day.
And then I realized that I could just finish it off here on my computer, which I keep bedside.
The movie was 2016's Sleigh Bells Ring, and it was nearly perfect insofar as the type of Christmas movies go that I best like. Still, I think it fell a little below the previous evening's Christmas in Homestead, but maybe that was due to the 'bad-taste' interruption by my brother and not the movie itself.
Lead actress Erin Cahill seemed unknown to me, but judging by her acting credits, I have surely seen her before. Young Dakota Guppy as her daughter was ─ as these kids usually are ─ a pure delight, making me miss having a child in my life today.
I also very much liked supporting actress Jenna Romanin ─ she reminded me of an actress I like a lot, but whose name entirely eludes me. Heck, I cannot even recall the name of anything the actress performed in.
This is another of those Christmas movies I would gladly re-watch in good company during the Christmas season.
I forget now which website I finished watching the movie at, but it can presently be found at MoviesJoy, or 123Movies, or StreamM4u. Just have a decent ad blocker on your browser, although that last website presented the least issues ─ it just took a little longer for the movie to load and play.
I also now cannot recall when I put myself to bed, but I hope it was ... nah, I'm guessing. But my cellphone alarm was set for 4 a.m. to get me up to slowly ready for some grocery shopping on my return leg of a five-mile+ walk.
When my alarm chimed, I rose to the realization that my wife just seemed to be arriving home following her latter day shift yesterday working at the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time. Her youngest son was evidently still up as well.
Fortunately, they both rather smartly retired for what remained of the night, and I had my peace to do as I would.
The hope is always to get away by maybe 5:45 a.m. so that I can have some time to exercise, but I got caught up with the atrocious reports concerning the Hamas attack on Israel, and specifically the video of poor German citizen Shani Louk.
One decent post about it on Facebook is here.
I am so disgusted and outraged by what happened to this beautiful innocent young woman that I wish Hellfire on all who were involved.
Anyway, delving into the various reports about that Hamas assault on Israel ─ and the atrocities committed upon innocent civilians ─ that I became so involved that time ran away on me and it was around 6:25 a.m. by the time I was on my way.
No time for any exercise. Heck, by the time I was at Save-On-Foods on that return leg of my walk ─ the store is maybe a mile from here ─ it was already around 8 a.m. The store opens at 7 a.m., so this was unsatisfactory. Fortunately, the store was not at all crowded.
And it was maybe 8:30 a.m. by the time I was back home.
I was not to have any time to lie down and rest, for after I had put away my groceries and come upstairs here to my bedroom where I keep this computer, my younger brother soon enough emerged from his bedroom for the morning.
When we later got together for some T.V. and he finally turned it over to me so that I could play something via our Android TV Box, I decided to tune in an episode of A Touch of Frost. I had forgotten where we had left off, but the Stremio app that I have downloaded into our Android TV Box remembered and correctly had things set up to play the premiere episode ("Penny for the Guy") of series or season five.
The episode was most engrossing, and seemed exceptionally long (although IMDb lists it at "1 hour 42 minutes"). It finished for us barely after 11:30 a.m., but by then my brother was ready for some further bed rest before leaving for the day to socialize.
I found the episode to be so very involving that I also felt like watching nothing further ─ it had been quite draining. So I fixed up my day's first meal and was to bed for a nap ere my wife had quite yet risen. My brother was already gone when I did get up.
It turned out that she was also to work the latter part of today (beginning at 4:30 p.m. when the restaurant opens after a usual midday closure). Consequently I had some time to spend around her before she left. I reminded her of a couple of large payments she is going to have to make ─ one no later than Tuesday, and the other on the 18th.
She seemed not to have had them slip her awareness, but I had seen that last night she withdrew $700 that she had deposited ─ she withdrew it at the casino that she has an addiction for.
So we shall see how these next 10 days play out.
We had a sunny day, but of course I remained inside at home. During my early walk when I had reached the halfway point ─ and while walking eastward ─ the Sun was still not showing above the horizon as far as I could see.
Obviously I had some sunshine against me after I had done my shopping and was walking home, but I am reverting to my normal unwholesome pallor. In other words, my Summer's facial tan is effectively already gone.
Tomorrow is Canada's Thanksgiving holiday, so I am going to treat of it as another Sunday. I intend to rise at 4 a.m. and do my better best to be away by 5:45 a.m. on a round trip hike to Real Canadian Superstore to indulge in some further grocery shopping ─ less burdensome will be the plan.
This allows for another Christmas evening today, and some malt, for I needn't be to bed as early as when I schedule a 1:30 a.m. rising for a walk.
I keep thinking emotionally of beautiful young Shani Louk. It is within me to so easily be an avenging vigilante ─ I have always recognized this. But I am writing now after having had three cans of the strong malt.
Perhaps it is best I conclude this day's post. It is past 9 p.m., and I have been home alone since before dark.
