My Older Half-Sister Visits

My 6 a.m. cellphone alarm seemed to take a long time in chiming, for I was recurringly awake in the earlier a.m. hours.

Around 7 a.m. I went outside and watered the front yard garden flowers ─ or most of them, at any rate. The ground still seemed damp due to likely condensation. Supposedly some rain is due on the weekend, so I can most probably hold off on further watering until I see what sort of weather is ahead for after the weekend.

That watering done, then it was out to the backyard tool shed for a half dozen sets of pull-ups and chin-ups (one rep in each set), a dead hang of 60 seconds, and the 31 full flat-footed squats to work my damaged right knee.

My wife never came home last night, incidentally.

My younger brother never emerged from his bedroom until maybe 9:10 a.m., by which time I had possession of the T.V. and was using our Android TV Box to watch two quite short videos on Rumble's Bonobo3D channel. He came downstairs well into the second half of the first one:

Arborist, Norm Oberson examines a 400-year-old Douglas Fir tree, recently cut down in Vancouver's Stanley Park. Standing dead the Doulas Fir appeared to be sound, a valuable wildlife tree in the forest ecology.

Victoria BC resident Kathy Bligh, spoke at a public hearing on the proposed Official Community Plan for upzoning the neighbourhood of James Bay.

Next came a better than an hour (1:08:26) video published yesterday to Rumble's Vaccine Choice Canada channel: CAN YOU CATCH A COLD? with DANIEL ROYTAS.

What if our firmly held beliefs about why we get sick are mistaken and not actually supported by scientific research? If so, our methods of prevention and treatment, including the use of vaccines, also fall into question.
Daniel Roytas, author of Can You Catch a Cold? Untold History & Human Experiments, examined one hundred research years of human contagion research and what he found might surprise you. Roytas provides alternative explanations for the cause of illnesses like colds and flu and how to prevent them. As we head into cold and flu season, you won't want to miss this thought-provoking presentation.

My expectation after that video was that we would finish watching the long movie we had broken from yesterday around the 35-minute mark so that my brother could get further bed rest.

Well, we may have gotten in a further 20 minutes when he rose and announced that he had to go and start getting ready to leave for a barber appointment.

This was almost outrageous to me! Maybe it was 10:45 a.m.

So that was our morning T.V. for today.

He returned into the early noon hour and wordlessly returned into his bedroom. I had eaten a meal by then and was embroiled in a bloody nuisance Microsoft FreeCell game that defied resolution for far too long, forcing me to undo my moves numerous times.

The morning and even to then was heavily overcast, so I anticipated the same for the afternoon when I got to pursue my nap.

I was wrong ─ when I rose again, there was naught but blue sky and sunshine everywhere.

And so I felt obliged to sit outside in the backyard just as yesterday. I kept my runners and sweatpants on, and just opened my shirt. I only removed it for the final quarter of the sunning when I exposed my back.

So officially, I sunned from 2:50 - 4:03 p.m.

Note that my brother was already gone for a bus to take him away to social drink when I had finished my nap.

Right now it is 6:10 p.m., and just past 5 p.m. my older half-sister E-mailed that she was bringing some "things" she was unloading in a bid to downsize because she and her adult daughter who lives with her will be soon moving. She said she would be here around 6 p.m.

And so I shall here take a break.

🟢🟢🟢

Oh, dear sister! (She is maybe 82 years old.)

She never showed up until around 7 p.m. while I was somewhat into my first show ─ Wynonna Earp.

I had alerted Bev of what to expect, so she summoned me when she noticed a vehicle enter the driveway and park.

Long story ─ for I socialized with my sister for nigh an hour ─ cut short, we now have four boxes of things my brother will be deeming mostly clutter and useless waste.

There is a lot to say of what I spoke of outside with my sister as the day died into dark.

And when she finally left and I returned here to my show ─ episode four ("Afraid") of season four ─ my partial can of beer already drunk had worn off. When I resumed the episode at this GOOJARA.to link, I finished the beer and even drank the planned second beer intended for another show.

With time shrinking away, after Wynonna Earp I still wanted a bit more alcohol boost, so I selected Whitney ─ episode six ("Two Broke-Up Guys") of the first season. My source was this uFLIX.to link.

I never heard of Whitney Cummings before this series ─ I wish that I could have gotten involved with someone like her when I was in my 30s if there was still a hope I could have been saved.

Regardless, the comedy required a half glass tumbler of Sommet Rouge (12% alcohol). And since I have eaten no supper ─ just my midday meal ─ I am ... influenced.

I am quite sure that I heard my brother arrive home early into the episode; when it was done, a peek outside my bedroom door revealed him passed out downstairs and keeping Bev company.

My supper comprised a mandarin orange and an apple, with no time for brushing my teeth.

As said before, I hope to be getting up at 3 a.m., but right now it is 9:44 p.m., and I must still start finishing up and closing out.
