How Can Life Just Get Worse and Worse?

It seems to me that it was at least 10:15 p.m. last evening when I put myself to bed, for my younger brother never showed up until after 10 p.m. ─ well in excess of the 9:30 p.m. deadline that I had in place for him.

But sleep was not easily derived. And when it came, I was wretchedly awake following a bathroom break around 2:30 a.m. My cellphone alarm had been set for 5 a.m., and I felt some vague tinge of uncertainty that it might fail ─ it has a couple of times in recent weeks.

Regardless, that was not the prime cause of my sleeplessness ─ it was as if my mind was determined to operate and keep my consciousness from slipping away.

I declare that if it was not for a dream about a reunion of sorts with Connie, a younger lass who seduced me back in the mid or late 1980s, then when my alarm sounded, I would have believed it likely that I did not sleep one whit since that bathroom break to stroan (or micturate).

That young lady was magnificent, and utterly broke my heart when she very soon thereafter lost interest in me. I certainly do not blame her ─ she worked hard at a poultry slaughtering facility and had begun contributing to her own RRSP, whereas I was chronically unemployed and with absolutely no prospects nor skills despite being into my mid or late 30s (she may have been 20 at that time).

Even I could not foresee myself having a future. And I was not to become indeterminately employed until into September 1996.

But on to my early morning.

Actually, it is still upon me, for at this moment the time on my computer reads 6:15 a.m. Very soon I will be breaking from this narrative of mine in order to venture forth and do some grocery shopping at the nearby Save-On-Foods outlet (Google Map) perhaps three-fourths of a mile from here.

I do not drive, so I will be walking even though a couple of times now I have heard it raining quite hard ─ but only for a relatively short burst, fortunately. An occasionally passing rain cloud, most likely. The store opens at 7 a.m., so I will be arriving there well within a half hour thereafter.

I would arrive at opening, but it has been my experience that a cashier is not always available for the earliest birds, and it has been necessary to negotiate one of those hateful self-serve stations.

With all of that explained, I may as well here break off and return to this post sometime in the latter afternoon.

oooooooooooooo

It was actually a wee bit past 7 a.m. before I managed to be on my way to shop. And despite that ─ and a rain that got me somewhat wet ─ I stopped at a nearby elementary school playground to twice (i.e., two sets) attempt pull-ups.

I managed one the first time, and then two in the second attempt or set.

By the time I was back home, it was not too very much after 8 a.m., and by about 8:30 a.m. I was seeking some bed rest.

When I later rose towards 10 a.m., my younger brother had just turned on the T.V., so I went downstairs to boil water for a hot mug of coffee with 'the works'. It was not until around 10:30 a.m. that he turned the T.V. over to me to tune in videos via our Android TV Box.

We were to only watch two.

I led us off with one ─ an hour and seven minutes in duration ─ that was uploaded to BitChute today (but recorded yesterday) by The Last American Vagabond: 93% British Columbia's April COVID Deaths Were Vaxed & Ukrainian Soldiers Expose "Nazi Battalions".

The content was interesting, by and large; nevertheless, host Ryan Cristiรกn talked so damned fast that he was difficult for me to pay heed to because he kept losing my attention. The video seemed to have the audio accelerated.

The only other video we watched was also on BitChute ─ a 59-minute interview performed by hostess Kristina Borjesson that had been uploaded on April 22: EX-TRUMP COVID ADVISOR IS EXHIBIT A FOR PROOF OF FAUCI/CDC/NIH/BIG PHARMA MALFEASANCE

A bombshell interview in which former Trump Covid advisor and whistleblower Dr. Paul Alexander talks about how when he tried to provide Fauci et al solid science for not locking down schools and not masking children, he was viciously attacked, told his “balls” would be “cut off” and then smeared in the media. He also says W.H.O. lied about no “human to human” transmission of the corona virus early on and that Operation Warp Speed “snookered” Americans into paying billions upfront for useless and harmful vaccines. My brother and I are quite familiar with Dr. Alexander, so getting this backdrop on his brief experience working as a President Trump advisor was quite interesting, although the doctor's audio was at times flawed, making his heavy accented English even more difficult to understand.

Kristina has provided some good interviews, for sure; but I do not like how she has her voice blasting forth in relation to the more subdued volume of her guests (who appear via ZOOM or some similar service).

This second video took my brother and I to around 12:40 p.m., and he opted then to get a little bed rest before readying and heading off in the early afternoon to engage his daily 'socializing'. If he is not home by 9:30 p.m. this evening, I will waive that sin and watch some T.V. with him when he does get here, for I have nothing planned for the early a.m. tomorrow.

He had best not be blitzed, though. I will not even attempt to watch anything with him if he is that drunk.

I think my afternoon nap was disrupted by a text from my wife. Either that, or I was more conscious than asleep at the time.

The DHL shipment from Thailand that we were told to expect around April 18 is still supposedly being held up at Canada Customs ─ Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA)

DHL's tracking section for the shipment shows a "Clearance Event" first on April 14, then April 21, and finally April 27. This "Clearance Event" is supposed to signify Customs activity.

But the first was now 24 days ago ─ nigh 3½ weeks!

Of course I have contacted DHL about it, and had at least three exchanges, the last of which on May 3 stated:

Kindly please be advised shipment is waiting for customs clearance process to be completed.

The process and duration of customs clearance is entirely dependent on Canada Customs and unfortunately, we have a high volume of shipments delayed under customs examination at this facility and the imports staff are doing their best to help clear the back log. Customs has already been advised to expedite the clearance process and physically release your shipment. There is nothing required from you at this moment. Please continue monitoring online. Closing file.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Well, my wife (who is from Thailand) seems to have a frustrating deficiency in her understanding of that text and persists in wanting me to continue to seek answers.

What else is there to learn? Provided DHL is not lying concerning Customs, then everything we need to know is in that explanation, and there is nothing further that I can possibly do about it.

This was her text of this afternoon ─ and I believe that one of her friends with a better command of English was behind the text, for I have never in my life heard my wife use the words "negligence" nor "feasible":

In this case maybe we should find out the contact number of the costumes so we can directly communicate with them and find out more information about what is holding it up

So in this case which DHL is claiming that they are dropping the case due to negligence of costume services. Now the only option that I can feasible is is to get all the contact number from DHL which costume they are dealing with and get the contact numbers from them plus the package number etc. so we can follow up ourselves and talk to the customer directly please and thank you

"Costumes" and "customer" are obviously the mistaken terms being used in place of "Customs".

I hate trying to make detailed texts, and this one sent to me quite annoyed me ─ whomever composed it clearly has no understanding of DHL's last response, for everything has already been answered. There is no further mystery. Also, I don't think whomever it was that composed my wife's text has a handle on just who Customs are.

I waited a little over two hours before replying:

Customs is part of Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) ─ the same people you have to face when you come back to Canada after going to another country.

As I said before, they are like a police force.

We can ask DHL for a phone number, but if the delay is only because of a huge backlog or backup like DHL says, I don't think CBSA will treat you like you are more special than anyone else waiting for their packages.

I have heard nothing further.

But yes, it is definitely annoying that my wife seems to have such limited understanding or comprehension ─ or maybe a limited capacity to retain essential details. I explain something, and my explanation either hits a barrier and does not penetrate her awareness; or else she fast loses any grasp of the explanation and starts right at the beginning as if DHL has told us nothing.

DHL's website declares that they are absolved of all financial liability for any shipment if a claim has not been made within 30 days of them having received the care of that shipment. In my wife's case DHL accepted the shipment in Bangkok on April 11 (10:45 a.m. local time).

Thailand is at least a full half day ahead of us here in Surrey, B.C., so that likely means that DHL took possession in the evening of April 10 here in the Pacific Time Zone.

If DHL is lying because the shipment has 'disappeared' and they are stalling until they are no longer liable for any financial responsibility ... well, I tried to explain this to my wife several days ago, suggesting that maybe she should contact the person she knows who shipped the huge box to us from Thailand. That person may have insured it, and time is running out to make a claim.

See Submit a Claim for Lost and Damaged Shipment | DHL Express SG.

Would they actually lie if they have discovered the shipment to be missing and they have been unable to track it down?

I sure don't know! But they do say this at that webpage I linked to:

Having your shipment completely lost is very unlikely because DHL Express operates our whole network independently. All our facilities deploy a standardized process to account for your cargo. Usually, when a shipment is thought to be lost, our security departments will be notified to conduct a thorough comb of our facilities. Sometimes, instead of a shipment being lost, it may be misrouted or missorted to another location. In such cases, a retrieval process will take place to bring it back to its intended destination.

I also don't know just what the shipment cost once my wife placed the order, but I expect that it was well over $1,000.

I was not involved in placing the order. My wife did it with money she 'withdrew' from my monthly pension, so I have been left nearly broke and she is somehow supposed to repay it. The monthly mortgage is due on the 22nd; and next month there will also be our annual home insurance that is typically due on June 14th, if I am remembering correctly. We have yet to be billed for that, so I do not know the amount.

My pension arrives late into each month.

As for that claim process, I get the impression that the shipper has to make the claim if it was the shipper who paid any insurance.

But what if the large box really is in the hands of CBSA and is not lost?

What a freakin' conundrum!

That's all I have time to say about this today. I've got myself worked up, so I am going to go and have myself a glass of wine and watch some T.V. ─ an MMA match, perhaps.

I will close with a Facebook post that my wife made of the sort of products that she was expecting.
