Since I have another of my very early a.m. walks planned for tomorrow, I will not be sitting up late this evening watching T.V. with my younger brother, even if he makes it home by 9:30 p.m. from his 'socializing'.
Should he make it home by 9:30 p.m., I will watch but one episode of just one of the T.V. series we follow in common.
Last evening we were to watch an episode each of Riverdale and Lewis. Where that latter show was concerned (an episode from season six titled "Generation of Vipers"), I was to watch over half of the episode before having it dawn upon me why one of the supporting cast looked rather familiar ─ the actor was Toby Stephens who had a lead role in the T.V. series Black Sails as the (to me) unlikable character Captain Flint.
I pointed this out to my brother, but it was lost upon him.
I see now that another of the supporting cast (i.e., Roxanne McKee) had a role early into the T.V. series Game of Thrones, but I have no memory of her character any longer.
The same has to be said for yet another supporting actor (Royce Pierreson) who was familiar to me for some unknown reason ─ the reason may have been his one-season stint as a DC (Detective Constable) on the T.V. series Line of Duty, another character I cannot recall any longer, either.
But I had best stop investigating the cast of the Lewis episode and move on.
My wife showed up while my brother and I were watching our shows, and encouraged that she wanted me to keep enquiring of DHL about the shipment that is supposedly still in "Clearance Event" limbo with CBSA (Canada Border Services Agency).
As a result, just before I retired for the night once my brother and I were done watching T.V., I sent this off to "CustomerCare.ca" in the guise of my wife:
Please help.
I hope this is not fruitless, for my last enquiry below that I made six days ago has yet to be acknowledged.
I have been awaiting delivery of a shipment that was first identified as undergoing a "Clearance Event" back on April 14 ─ a full month and four days ago.
There were two further "Clearance Events" after April 14 ─ one on April 21, and the last on April 27, but there has been no movement since. That was three weeks ago!
It does not seem possible that CBSA (Canada Customs) is this far backlogged. I fear that they have either lost my shipment; or else it was ruined, and they are not willing to own up to this.
This whole affair is beginning to seem malicious.
I only work part-time at a Thai restaurant, and my husband is a pensioner ─ this shipment cost me and my husband well over a thousand dollars, and we cannot afford such an enormous loss.
What can possibly be going on?
Thank you.
That ought to portray our exceptional situation clearly enough, so I will not reproduce the "last enquiry" that I referred to ─ it basically said much the same thing.
The value of the shipment is probably more like $1,500.
Incidentally, there has not been an acknowledgement of that E-mail as yet, and I find myself coming to the conclusion that DHL are treating us criminally. To wit, they managed to exceed the 30 days in which they are liable for damages or losses (the 30 days began on April 11 when DHL took possession of the shipment in Thailand), and now they no longer feel like they need to bother to give lip service of trying to help us learn about the shipment.
But on to other matters ─ I want to conclude this post and have a bath, and it is already nearing 7 p.m.
I believe that today is day nine of the wretched coughing a respiratory infection has brought on. I am able to get to sleep initially most times; but then the point arrives where coughing cannot remain suppressed and I am unable to find peace in sleep any further.
I looked absolutely miserable this morning, with bleary purple-rimmed eyes, and puffy bags beneath them. And of course, I have bouts of coughing over the course of the day.
We are having an unusually prolonged "early" Spring this year, so I have not had the sunny weather of the Springs of yore that had already witnessed me building up on a healthy suntan by this date. I have not yet sunned even my torso, for the weather has been too poor.
My immune system is therefore depressed, despite the amounts of vitamin D3 (10,000 I.U.s daily) I take, nor the daily vitamin K2, and even zinc and quercetin supplementation.
Sunlight is a miraculous therapy, and I am not benefiting from any. In fact, it has probably been over eight months since I have done any sunning. This is ridiculous!
And because of my profound aversion to being public during the course of the busy day with the stress of abounding street traffic and people everywhere, I only manage night walks a couple or so days a week. It is only in the depth of the night that I find the peace to have and direct my own thoughts ─ such is impossible during the day with people constantly intruding into my ken, throwing off all possibility of any serene reflection even if such was possible with the traffic tearing about all around me.
My wife had to work a full day today ─ she usually has Wednesdays off from the Thai restaurant. This was unexpected by me ─ and even my brother, for he commented as much to her. The restaurant opens at 11 a.m., so she left us in plenty of time on her rather long drive.
The only video he and I watched this morning that I will bother mentioning was an Action4Canada May 12 upload to Rumble ─ the video had been recorded the day prior: The WEF/SDG Plan For Canada Parental Control, Child Mental Abuse In Schools & Live Q&A.
Hostess Tanya Gaw's guest was Corinne Beresford, who had a lengthy presentation / lecture to make.
The video was an hour and 52 minutes in duration, so it consumed the bulk of our viewing time. And when finally we were done watching T.V. around 1 p.m., my brother straightaway readied himself to leave to hook up with one of his drinking buddies.
I do not anticipate that he will be in especially good condition by the time he is home again this evening, so I will not at all mind having a relatively early evening of things to ensure that early walk ─ I want to be getting up at 2:30 a.m.
This is as good a place as any to call it a day where blogging is concerned.
