I find it interesting that even though I was to bed last evening before 10 p.m. and never rose until my 5 a.m. cellphone alarm alerted me, I still managed more sleep after returning to bed toward mid-morning; and I will likely have my usual early afternoon nap.
As might be surmised, I am composing this in my latter morning, for my younger brother has now for the second consecutive Sunday tuned in a 10 a.m. Seattle Seahawks NFL game that I refuse to waste my time watching with him. I have so much else to do of far, far more interest to me.
I rose at 5 a.m. because I desired to get out and do some early morning grocery shopping at the Save-On-Foods outlet not quite a mile from here. I walk; and as usual, the plan was to put in some distance before doing my shopping.
I wanted to leave home ahead of 6 a.m., but I typically failed to do so ─ it may have been 6:09 a.m. by the time I had locked the front door and was on my way. Early into my walk here in the greater Whalley area I stopped at the elementary school playground that features some gymnastics-style rings where I essayed two sets of pull-ups, managing the usual repetitions: 6 - 2. I honestly fear that I am never going to improve above that long-time limitation. Sure, I have a few times managed three reps in the second set, but doing so was gruellingly difficult. And now with the weather increasingly cooler, soon enough I will be wearing heavier jackets.
This morning I noticed fog gathering and spreading in places like open park lawns.
As a result of my late start on my walk, I did not put in the full extra distance that I otherwise would have, but I did still manage at least four miles. And considering that I almost walked four miles yesterday morning when I sallied forth to advance vote in the 2022 B.C. municipal elections, I am fairly pleased with myself. Normally I would not have gone anywhere on Saturday ─ it tends to be a lazy or stay-at-home day.
We have ourselves yet another sunny day, so I will be sitting out in the backyard while wearing just a pair of cutoffs later in the afternoon. However, I saw on a T.V. weather report that tomorrow is expected to have some rain showers hereabouts, so this sunning streak I have been taking advantage of is likely to perforce be broken that day ─ Thanksgiving, incidentally. But sunshine is supposed to be due back on Tuesday (my birthday).
Gosh, I almost forgot to mention that early last evening I watched the 2015 Christmas movie A Christmas Detour.
Candace Cameron Bure had the lead role, and sure looked good in her tight jeans ─ she filled them out wonderfully. As for her character, she was a little airheaded initially, but I suppose that was necessary in order to portray her as being intrinsically innocent.
Lead actor Paul Greene made his character very likeable, and the actor definitely had some very natural acting skills.
I felt that I recognized supporting actress Sarah Strange, but I have no idea where from. I quite liked her character, and I was pleased when she and her movie husband (as played by David James Lewis) began to find a reawakening of their deeper feelings for one another after a 20-year marriage that had grown stale. In fact, I probably enjoyed their rekindling more than I did the eventual hookup of the two lead characters ─ I would have loved to have watched a Christmas movie all about that secondary couple.
I thought Sarah Strange to be quite beautiful at times. She acted very well.
I enjoyed the movie, and had one glass of Merlot over the course of its latter half. Even so, I did not become especially 'weepy'. Perhaps I was too distracted because the movie was running me well beyond 9 p.m., and I kept watching for my brother's homecoming ─ I did not wish to become entangled with him for the evening.
I will be sitting up late this evening, though, watching shows with him once he is home from his daily socializing (i.e., beering).
There was not too much more of note to my day.
Prior to eating anything, I weighed in at maybe 185 pounds ─ five pounds more than I recorded myself as weighing on this date exactly 41 years ago when I was 31 years old.
I sought my afternoon nap a little later than I normally do, so I was displeased to not be starting my session of sunshine in my cutoffs out in the backyard until 2:47 p.m., but I did well exceed 70 minutes, I would say.
I am going to close today's post here, and catch some T.V. and a little supper before my brother returns home.
