My wife was a good girl yesterday and dutifully came home that evening following her long full day working at the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time. She announced that she was going to have to work half a day today (beginning around 4 or 4:30 p.m.); and today she elaborated that her Saturday half days will be a regular thing hence until into the new year.
It is rather nice having her home, I must say.
Anyway, last evening once my brother showed up from his daily socializing (beering), I put our Android TV Box to work and started off our evening with an episode of Jack Irish ─ episode three of the first season. Or at least, I thought it was episode three ─ I recognize nothing in any write-ups about the episode, so I am going to have to research this. Quite possibly, the episode my brother and I watched was misfiled.
Next I tuned in this year's premiere episode of The Jonathan Ross Show (i.e., series 19). But as I review Wikipedia's write-up for that episode, none of the guests were in the episode that we watched. In fact, I see now that there was a definite misfiling ─ the episode we watched was the very first of the entire bloody series.
I wondered why guest Adele looked so damned frumpy. Earlier this year on one of the British talks shows, she looked quite attractive, so her physical appearance last evening in the episode with her piled up hair just made no sense.
I bloody hate when this happens!
The third show we tuned in was an episode of Riverdale ─ the third season's "Chapter Fifty-One: Big Fun". I had no idea that this was to be a musical episode ─ we hate those! It ruins whatever legitimacy the series manages to construct.
So rather than quit the ridiculous episode, I started fast-forwarding through the nonsensical musical numbers. However, I do love the sight of leggy girls, so we did watch a couple or so of those performances.
We capped the evening with an episode of How Do You Want Me? ─ the first season's fifth episode ("The Hidden World of Country Fire Stations").
My wife had come home from work earlier with some Coronas for herself, and was still behind her mostly closed bedroom door watching something on a tablet when my brother and I both retired for the night well into the latter half of the midnight hour.
She and I have separate bedrooms.
This morning ─ shortly after 9 a.m. ─ my brother and I were to begin our morning T.V. together via our Android TV Box with the Canadian Citizens for Charter Rights and Freedoms upload of two days ago to Rumble. It was a little more than a half hour (34:43) in duration, and featured my favourite federal politician: C3RF "In Hot" interview with PPC leader, Max Bernier.

Although the video ended ahead of noon, I suggested to my brother that maybe we ought to seek to install the Honeywell RTH3200B 5+2 Programmable Thermostat that he had bought two days ago to replace our non-functioning old Honeywell Magicstat 32 CT3200 Programmable Thermostat ─ the house had gotten markedly cool by yesterday!
Once a person understands the process, it could probably be done in 10 or so minutes. It took us until well past 1:30 p.m.
Granted, we lost considerable time disconnecting the new thermostat when my brother discovered that after inserting good batteries into it, the LED would not light up and display anything. I did some researching here at my computer because my brother also discovered that the bank of wiring terminals was not unbroken ─ that is, the bank's far left pair of terminals were detached from the main part of the bank by an initially indiscernible crack, and my brother had no idea if he had broken the bank, thereby separating the final two terminals, or if it had already been broken.
In reviewing a couple of YouTube videos, it became apparent that those two terminals did appear to be separate from the main bank of terminals.
After considerable fussing once we saw that the LED ought to light up with the batteries even before it was attached to the wiring, it suddenly sprang to life. Apparently the batteries he had inserted into the device had not been properly lodged.
My brother's hands / fingers tremble rather badly.
So all is well. He had to forego his bit of early afternoon bed rest, but he left to engage his daily socializing in a good frame of mind.
My wife was later to get away in plenty of time on her fairly long drive to the restaurant, having earlier cooked up a big pot of chicken soup for everyone. She had nipped out early in the afternoon to buy the chicken and whatever else she may have also bought in order to prepare the feed.
The day has been overcast, although there was actually some weak sunshine around the midday for a time.
As I have worked on this post, I have been listening to a U.K. radio station featuring Christmas music: Heart Xmas. It has rather put me in the mood to watch a Christmas movie while enjoying some dark rum, so I am going to close this post and rush through one in my private blog.
