Shot Callers

People continue to ignore what is being done by injection to the most precious among us.

Once my younger brother was home last evening from his daily socializing (beering), I put our Android TV Box into action and we watched an episode of Riverdale. Unfortunately, I miscalculated concerning which episode I was tuning in.

It seemed to me that we should be lined up with episode 14 ("Chapter Forty-Nine: Fire Walk with Me") of season three, but once it began playing, it was a repeat. I should have calculated that this might be a case of a misfiled source, but instead I chose to play the subsequent episode 15 ("Chapter Fifty: American Dreams").

There seemed elements in the updating overview that led into that episode that were unfamiliar to me, but I failed to react to this suspicion, and we watched the entire episode. I now see that we should have watched episode 14 after all ─ I just needed to have selected a different source.

Maybe I will just start playing it this evening at 9 p.m. whether or not my brother is home.

Anyway, after Riverdale, I tuned in the 2017 movie Shot Caller.

The lead actor seemed familiar, but his name was not ─ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. I kept wondering if maybe the familiarity was because the actor reminded me so much of Viggo Mortensen, whom my brother and I had just recently watched in two movies featuring him that were equally violent.

I now see that the reason the actor was so damned familiar is because he played Jaime Lannister in the T.V. series Game of Thrones. I did not have a clue! Nor did my brother, for he said nothing during the movie about the actor seeming to be familiar to him.

I did recognize actress Lake Bell as being known to us from the comedy T.V. series Bless This Mess; and also Jon Bernthal from both the T.V. series The Punisher and the 2017 movie Wind River, both of which I enjoyed immensely.

Shot Caller was very good. However, its finish was disappointing ─ I cannot reconcile that some originally decent guy could mutate so very much that he would prefer to be a feared gang leader in prison than have his former life ─ or anything like it ─ back. This was too alien for me to understand.

The movie was essentially two hours in duration, so my brother and I watched nothing else.

My wife had come home in the latter evening, and before I retired for the night (she and I have separate bedrooms), I checked my chequing account which earlier had a balance of something like $228.

Well, no more. She had apparently withdrawn $200 before coming home and had probably blown it ─ whether gambling or just partying.

I was so outraged that even though she seemed to have gone to bed for the night, I texted her at 12:44 a.m.:

Just so you know, since my pension arrived last Tuesday, you now have stolen $1,490 from it.

That has to be paid back, or your sons will have to.

She texted me this morning at 11:38 a.m. while I was watching T.V. again with my brother:

Pay back before mortgage

The mortgage is usually automatically debited from that account on the 22nd of each month.

I responded with three 'smiley' faces, for I had settled down overnight. Earlier I had again checked my chequing account and seen that better than $309 had been deposited by the government. Every four months since I turned 71, I receive a portion of my former relatively small RRSP paid out as a result of having it converted back then into a RRIF.

This was one of those quarterly payments, arriving just in time to protect me from some automated small debit that might be occurring at any time ─ I have quite a few interest and other charges that just appear against my account, none of which I truly understand.

But enough of that topic. On to further T.V. ─ this morning's.

My brother and I first watched a 21-minute (21:02) upload to Rumble by 'The Mel K Show' today: Mel K & Dr. Stella Immanuel On Prayers & Prepping For Health & Security In Trying Times 10-5-22

I was unfamiliar with Dr. Stella Immanuel. However, apart from coming across as a very evangelical Black woman, she is in fact a Medical Doctor. I quite liked what she had to say.

Next I tuned in a 44-minute (44:09) documentary on BitChute that at first appeared as if it might not play: Russian documentary on Operation High Jump (Eng sub).

Russian Documentary on Admiral Byrd`s Operation High Jump into the antarctic region after WW2 1946-1947. Russian speech with english subtitles.

I played this at the request of my brother, but the event also very much interests me. We will have to find out more about it.

We finished up with an 'Open Mike With Michael Thiessen' September 10 upload to Rumble that was almost 1¼ hours long (1:13:25): Denis Rancourt: Debunking Climate Hysteria.

In this episode, Mike is joined by scientist and social theorist, Denis Rancourt. to debunk climate change hysteria and the myths forwarded by its cult leaders. and adherents.

It was very informative.

My wife had gotten up a little while earlier, and seemed in decent spirits. I trust that my last friendly response by text to her was instrumental.

My brother sought some bed rest, and I my nap. He was gone for the day when I rose.

One thing he claimed to intend while he was away was to vote early in the 2022 British Columbia municipal elections for which advance voting was possible as of today. As I wrote in yesterday's post, he and I shall be voting alike. Nevertheless, I will await the weekend to vote, for the nearest voting location is nearly two miles from here, and I detest being abroad during a workday ─ I do not drive, so I must walk.

The afternoon was sunny and warm. If my wife was not home ─ and she remained home all of the day ─ I would have donned just a pair of cutoffs and sunned. Notwithstanding, I did sit outside in the backyard and from 2:12 p.m. benefited from just over 1½ hours of exposure to the Sun.

By the way, although I never weighed myself today, prior to eating anything on each of the previous three days, I possibly registered as low as 185 pounds yesterday; 186 pounds two days ago; and 188 pounds three days ago.

I will be sitting up this evening to watch T.V. with my brother once he is home, as I already implied earlier. This time, though, I will not need to drink any of my precious strong malts, for my youngest stepson inexplicably presented me with eight cans of regular strength (5% alcohol) beer into the early latter afternoon.

Likely, I will split the four with my brother. I will first need to see how blitzed he already is by the time he gets home.
