The Digital Prison

Early last evening I made an attempt to watch another Alicia Witt movie ─ 2002's Ten Tiny Love Stories. I was doing so on T.V. by using our Android TV Box, and employing a browser app to access a movie source.

Note that I have cited the movie with the date 2002, even though the Wikipedia article claims 2001. I believe that latter claim is an error.

As Wikipedia says, the movie is apparently 10 different monologues, each by a different actress narrating some profound love / sexual experience that she had ─ all fiction of course.

Well, thankfully Alicia was second in that rotation. A couple or so of minutes into the third tale, I had already gotten my fill of the waste of time and so I cancelled out of the movie.

It was nice seeing Alicia, but not in something like this.

If interested, her seven-minute portion is available on YouTube.

Had these incidents been genuine recollections and not an exercise in play-acting by the different women, it might have been worth watching. So thumbs down from me.

I then watched an English-dubbed episode of Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area. This was the ninth episode that I have now watched.

After the first six episodes, the character development of the gang has flowered so much that I now very much care about their fates, even if there is absolute improbability involved with events in the series.

After the episode I resorted to my computer here in my bedroom, intent on getting to bed as soon as I believed my younger brother to have gotten home, for I planned to rise at 2 a.m. for one of my 5½-mile walks and thus needed to get to bed reasonably early.

Yeah, right.

I embraced iniquity instead, and thus it was practically 10:30 p.m. before I finally climbed into bed ─ so keyed up that sleep was initially difficult.

My sleep is always intermittent, and as a result I was actually into a wakeful period when my cellphone alarm sounded.

I hustled myself up from bed and began quickly readying for the venture. It was a little annoying seeing that my eldest stepson was still up. Nevertheless, I probably managed to sneak away unnoticed, and was at street side and on my way by 2:15 a.m.

Note that I had weighed myself while fully dressed and in my footwear so that I would know what I was working with when I stopped at a fairly nearby elementary school playground to engage six sets of pull-ups and chin-ups ─ I seemed to be verging on 201 pounds.

I engaged similar exercising yesterday in our backyard tool shed, and had then weighed around 195 pounds sans a jacket. My repetitions in those six sets were 4 - 3 - 3 - 2 - 2 - 2.

Those five pounds seem to make a huge difference when I stop at the school on my walk, for once again my repetitions there were 3 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2. And that final repetition was not quite complete, but I held the pull-up at its peak for a count of 10.

I had actually expected to perform worse, for I was short on sleep, and I seem to do some staggering when I am out on those walks due to my state.

It was getting chilly, but the metal bars were dry and easy enough to handle with bare hands.

From this point I am not going to take to Fraser Highway from its intersection with 96th Avenue (Google Map) as I make my way to King George Boulevard after following 96th Avenue from 148th Street.

I say that because last night, perhaps midway between 96th Avenue and 140th Street as I trod Fraser Highway (Google Map), I met up with one Floyd who was coming from the opposite direction.

He was an amiable chap, and was actually encamped quite nearby, and had been for nigh a year ─ essentially homeless. He indicated approximately the area where he was bivouacked, but I am not going to reveal it here.

Anyway, we must have chatted for at least 45 minutes, for it was 5:02 a.m. by the time I was again outside my locked front door, whereas normally my outings may take two hours or somewhat less.

Not only did genial Floyd ─ who was 60 years old, and several inches shorter than I ─ cost me so much time, but I felt compelled to offer him some money. Now mind, he never fished for a handout ─ that was my own volition. But it was $8.40 that I have to admit that I am not in a position to be giving away.

I know that I would likely feel the same compunction were our paths to cross in the future, so it is probably best that I avoid that stretch of Fraser Highway.

Hence, instead of quite going as far as Fraser Highway as I walk 96th Avenue, I will instead turn along Green Timbers Way (Google Map). I can then access 140th Street and take to Fraser Highway from there, effectively bypassing that problematic stretch of the highway.

Floyd was originally from Alberta, but has an adult son living in these parts who shares lodging with his mother, Floyd's former wife (I expect).

When I first asked him his age and he revealed it, I hoped that he would not ask mine. He did not directly do so, but he expressed that he figured me to be into my early 50s.

When I grudgingly confessed that I was actually 73, he was openly astonished.

Yes, I did enjoy our long chat, and would not mind occasionally hooking up with Floyd. But the reason I take these nighttime walks is to avoid the heavy traffic of the day ─ pedestrian and vehicular. By the time Floyd and I broke up, commuting traffic was already building, and I had to do some unplanned sporadic jogging along with a rapid pace in my walk just to get home when I did.

Thus, Floyd and I may well have engaged one another for longer than 45 minutes.

By the way, while I was involved watching some T.V. last evening, I managed to kick an item of furniture with the small toe of my left foot. I suspect I may have cracked a bone, if not actually broken something. Suffice to say, it hurt like the dickens wearing boots on that walk.

I never got back to bed until well past 6 a.m., and had the usual trouble getting sleep. When I found myself into a wakeful period and checked the time ahead of 8:30 a.m., I opted to rise for the morning.

My brother never emerged from his bedroom following a shower until 9 a.m., so by then I had control of the T.V., and I led us off with Odessa Orlewicz's video of yesterday: Interview With Aman Jabbi of Silicon Valley- The Digital Prison He Sees Being Built Around Us.

I next was tuning in A Warrior Calls on Rumble ─ specifically, yesterday's livestream of AI Dominion Games Ep 18, a series in which David Hawkins is co-hosted with Christopher James ... but my brother wanted no more of the redundant series.

At his request, I tuned in Action4Canada's February 11 Rumble offering with Tanya Gaw ─ it ran for over two hours (2:12: 07): Updates And Government Inquiry with Rocco Galati.

Tanya Gaw is joined by Rocco Galati, top Canadian Constitutional Lawyer, to address the status of ongoing legal actions, an update on Rocco’s health, Government Inquiries, and so much more.

There was no time to watch aught else thereafter.

My brother was on his cellphone talking to a couple of his drinking buddies, then he sought some bed rest; and I very soon thereafter sought a needed nap.

My brother was gone for the day when I was done and got busy with blogging. Soon enough, I realized that it was lightly raining outside.

I am going to try and watch a movie this evening before my brother returns home, but it will not be a vehicle of Alicia Witt's.
