It actually became too cloudy for me to continue trying to sun yesterday afternoon. That development may have contributed to my downfall.
I am not feeling good about myself today.
Anyway, last evening as I awaited my younger brother's homecoming from his daily socializing, I watched (among other things) Amanda Nunes vs Valentina Shevchenko 2 | FREE FIGHT | UFC 289 on Rumble ─ the video had been uploaded that day.
I do not closely follow MMA or related contests, so I thought that this might be some recent bout. I have since researched and learned that UFC 289 has yet to be held ─ it is scheduled for June 10, so it is very near. But Valentina Shevchenko is not on the roster.
The bout I had watched was at UFC 215, held September 9, 2017. That was their second match, and apparently there has not yet been a third.
I have no idea why the video I watched was indicated as being UFC 289 ─ there was no description about the match offered at all, nor was anything said about the upcoming UFC 289.
Before it had yet gotten dark, I decided to water garden plants in the front yard. I had almost finished when ─ it was likely 9:40 p.m. at earliest ─ my brother finally arrived. This was the first time in some days that he has shown up before 10 p.m.
With him home that early, we were able to watch an episode each of three of the series that we follow in common. Employing our Android TV Box, I led us off with Black Lightning ─ this was season three's episode four ("The Book of Occupation: Chapter Four: Lynn's Ouroboros").
Next up was The Jonathan Ross Show. On this occasion, I located the desired episode on YouTube ─ season 20's episode two: The Jonathan Ross Show S20E02 1080p. Thank you to the See No Evil 2030 channel.
We finished the night with the series finale ("Fire from the Gods") of The Man in the High Castle.
Although there was gratification that unscrupulous John Smith finally met his end (as did his wife, unfortunately), there was too much left untold. The fates of main supporting characters were unexplained / ignored. And why did we have to be left with the inexplicable conclusion that was so aptly described by Wikipedia: "the resistance members watch as, for unknown reasons, thousands of people begin to emerge from other worlds through the portal."
Not only that, why did those diverse people not seem in the least confused about each other? It was not as if everyone knew each other ─ that was impossible. But so was why everyone would have left their own realities to venture into the unknown when there could be no way that each of them understood what they were walking into.
Supposedly, too, it was impossible for somebody to co-exist in another reality if that person's counterpart was still alive there. Basically, they would dissolve into a bloody, steaming pulp.
Why was there no justification for why that was not occurring?
It was a stupid, inexplicable ending that cheapened the entire series.
This morning's T.V. fare was ─ as usual ─ completely different. I led us off with an upload of two days ago to Rumble's Vaccine Choice Canada channel (Dr. Shuli Krakauer, DVM - Homeopathy for Pets and the Whole Family); but after 10 or so minutes, I felt too uninspired to continue. I could not relate in the least, and not necessarily just because we haven't had a pet in over 20 years.
There was an interview I was curious about at BitChute's Mercola channel that had been uploaded back on May 17 ─ I had read the associated article. It was nearly 1¾ hours long (1:41:08), so I tuned this in: Why You May Need More Carbs in Your Diet - Interview with Georgi Dinkov.
In this interview, Georgi Dinkov and I continue our discussion about diet, diving into some of the finer details that can make or break your health. Dinkov is a student of Ray Peat, who passed away around Thanksgiving 2022, leaving behind a legacy of iconoclastic wisdom on how to optimize biological health.
A ketogenic diet can be very useful initially when transitioning people who are metabolically inflexible. However, continuing in ketosis long term can lead to problems, including stubborn weight gain or the inability to lose unwanted weight.
The reason for this has to do with cortisol. Your body needs glucose, and when deprived for too long, your body will release cortisol to stimulate the production of glucose by your liver. Cortisol also promotes inflammation and central obesity, so you don’t want chronically elevated cortisol levels.
Your metabolic rate is strongly affected by the type of sugar you consume. High fructose corn syrup promotes ill health while whole fruit, raw honey and pure organic cane sugar are readily metabolized without promoting weight gain.
When adding in more carbs, you also need to reduce your fat intake to avoid elevating your triglycerides.
Restricting dietary fat and/or blocking the oxidation of fat inside of the cell have strong therapeutic effects against cancer by forcing the cell out of its excessive fatty acid oxidation state.
I now have several notions or beliefs ─ some derived from information I had previously gained from Dr. Joseph Mercola ─ that I am having to completely revise or even abandon. I find this to be rather radical.
Unfortunately, I did not take notes because I expected that a transcript of the video was going to be provided, but that has turned out not to be so. But fortunately, I downloaded that mentioned article, and it specifies recommended nutritional and related dosages of touted substances.
Next I tuned in the remaining 40 minutes or less of a YouTube video that we first began watching a couple of days ago. I had previously downloaded it onto a thumb or flash drive. In excess of 1½ hours (1:34:47), it was uploaded to The Best Film Archives back on August 30, 2012: Moonwalk One (1970) - Neil Armstrong: First Man on the Moon_Documentary by NASA on Apollo 11 (1969).
Refer to the link for the rather long description, or check out Wikipedia (Moonwalk One). That latter identifies the documentary as being from 1971, whereas IMDb says it is from 1972.
I enjoyed the feature; and even though I am Canadian, I got a big kick out of watching the reactions of foreign peoples watching the Apollo 11 event on their T.V.s; and I also thrilled to the various parade scenes with the stirring brass band marches being played, for I grew up hearing those marches on old black & white war movies, as well as a cache of records that my father once brought home.
I would love to watch old parade scenes of pretty baton-twirling girls marching along to stirring music ─ there was not enough of that in this documentary!
We finished our T.V. viewing with an episode of Barry ─ season three's episode six ("710N").
Oh my gosh, it is after 9 p.m.! I must be done with this post, for I am not going to sit up late watching T.V. this evening ─ I have other plans.
I will close by reporting that I acquired about 1½ hours of sunning this afternoon from approximately 3:15 p.m. And since I later had a bath, I lost a lot of blogging time.
