The Way We Were

Twitter: Joseph Boaz

Well, there was no five-mile walk this early a.m. after all ─ my younger brother surprised me last evening by showing up no later than 8:50 p.m. And he proved to not be excessively drunk.

I had watched a 23-minute women's MMA match on YouTube between American Fatima Kline and Russia's Natalia Kuziutina.

This was actually the second consecutive day in which I had watched a match featuring Fatima, for early evening on Tuesday I watched her fight Laura Gallardo. That first match was a 24-minute video (available on YouTube here),

In the earlier match (which took place on January 18 of 2023, and available at YouTube here), I found myself rooting for Mexico's Laura Gallardo because Fatima Kline was five inches taller than Laura, and as a result looked almost gangly by comparison ─ Laura, at only an inch over five feet, had a more appealing physique in my eyes.

The fight went the scheduled rounds, but Fatima was accorded the unanimous decision by all of the judges.

In the match against the Russian fighter which took place on March 15 of 2023, Fatima was only taller by three inches, so Natalia's physique lacked the same visual impact for me that was the case with Laura Gallardo. As well, since I was now familiar with much younger Fatima's prowess, I suppose that I was leaning in her favour.

This fight also went the distance, but once again, Fatima got the unanimous decision.

The young lady is unquestionably very skilful ─ it is most apparent by how she seems to have essentially dominated her two opponents.

With my brother home relatively early, I resigned myself to using our Android TV Box further, and sitting up late ─ and also having two cans of the strong (8% alcohol) malt that I keep in stock ─ it had been 11 days since my last drink.

The first show we watched was an episode of The Outpost. I had meant to tune in an episode of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, but for some irritating reason the app I use for that series ─ BeeTV ─ seems to have lost all record of watched episodes. That is, normally it marks the episodes that have already been watched, but a recent update seems to have removed all of those indicators, and the descriptions offered for the episodes were useless due to their brevity ─ I had no sure idea where we left off. And when I tried a likely episode just to check it out, it proved to be an earlier misfile.

The Outpost episode we watched was season one's episode six ("The Book of Names").

Next I wanted to tune in an episode of Black Lightning, but we also watch it on BeeTV, and this time I had no idea at all where we had left off. As a result, I opted to watch another of The Avengers' season two episodes where John Steed was an entirely different sort of character than he was to become in later seasons.

I also use BeeTV for this series, but fortunately the episodes are easily identified because of proper titling, so I immediately recognized that we were to be watching episode five ("Mission to Montreal"). Concerning that episode, I want to say that I was impressed with actress Patricia English who had the role of a troubled alcoholic actress. Initially her character was unpleasant, but I began to see through that and found her to be very attractive ─ and fit! She had typically slim arms, but I noticed that they were actually muscular and not just the usual trim arms so common to actresses of the time.

I would have loved to have seen if her legs were similarly well muscled.

We also watched an episode of Kevin Can F**k Himselfseason two's episode two ("The Way We Were").

And we topped off the night with an episode of Workin' Momsseason two's episode 12 ("If Women Had to Give Birth").

Thereafter I managed to sit up here at my computer until at least 2:30 a.m. before getting to bed (if I am recollecting correctly). Alas, my wife had sent me a Facebook Messenger text that I only noticed right after my brother had arrived home earlier, so I was forced to explain that I could not take the time then to chat by text. When I returned to Facebook before going to bed, she did not reply back.

She is presently in Thailand following an extended visit to Rome, and has been away since her early evening flight from YVR back on either January 23 or 24. We do not often have a Messenger exchange, and Thailand is 14 hours ahead of me in time, so I wish that I had not lost the opportunity.

Despite my late bedtime, I could not remain abed anywhere near 8 a.m.

After my brother later rose to watch T.V. and have coffee, I went downstairs within a few minutes of 9 a.m.'s approach, and we were soon watching videos. My initial attempt was a 1½-hour YouTube documentary uploaded yesterday to its ENDEVR channel: The Rise And Fall Of Nokia Mobile | ENDEVR Documentary.

However, we bailed after little more than 3½ minutes because there was far too much foreign language involved with subtitling that was just a little too small for our eyes ─ English was not commonly spoken at all. I am not that darned interested in Nokia's history. The producers need to do English voice-overs rather than force viewers to read subtitles.

So I then tuned in two videos added just today to Rumble's Action4Canada channel. The first was 22 minutes, being a Weekly Update: June 28th with Tanya Gaw.

The second video was nigh an hour: Tanya Gaw and Majed El Shafie: CHINESE POLICE STATIONS Foreign Surveillance and Influence!

Majed El Shafie, Founder of One Free World International (OFWI), joins Tanya to discuss the Chinese police stations in Canada and the Canadian government’s failure to take swift action. A coalition led by OFWI has been calling for the Canadian government to take immediate action and expel CCP police and deport their agents back to China. Tanya and Rev. Majed also discuss foreign interference, mass immigration and more.

There was more description if you wish to refer to the video link to see it.

Majed El Shafie was definitely an interesting guest.

The next and last video we watched exceeded 1¼ hours (1:18:13), and had been added to Rumble's Vaccine Choice Canada channel two days ago: Shawn Buckley - Natural Health Industry Under Attack.

Shawn Buckley is a Canadian lawyer who specializes in natural health product law and constitutional law. He is the founder and president of the Natural Health Products Protection Association (NHPPA), an organization that advocates for the rights of Canadians to have access to natural health products.
In this interview Shawn discusses how Health Canada is moving forward with multiple initiatives that will assault the natural health industry and restrict consumer access to natural health products and practices.
If Canadians allow these changes to occur, it will be the end of the natural health product industry as we know it.

We have been seeing a lot of Shawn lately ─ he, too, is very interesting, as is his important cause.

My brother would be busing away in the early afternoon to rendezvous with at least one drinking buddy at a pub, so he headed to his bedroom for some rest. I had my day's first meal, and was shut up in my bedroom for a nap when he eventually emerged from his room and left.

I never sunned today. For one thing, I felt unpleasant following the nap, and the thought of baking out in the backyard seemed too stressful. But today was also a bath day, and that consumes an hour by the time all is finished with. I had some glimmer of hope that I might get out in the latter evening for a long walk and some grocery shopping, but I came to realize that I was just too off today.

I am not expecting that my brother will make it back by 9 p.m., so I will be having an early a.m. five-mile walk instead, rising at 1:45 a.m. to begin readying for it.

Consequently, I will do my best to be getting to bed as soon after 9 p.m. as seems reasonable.
