My younger brother surprised me last evening by arriving home while I was in the kitchen getting together what was to prove to be an extremely light supper. It may not even have been after 9:15 p.m.
I did not let on to him that I would not be watching any T.V. ─ I intended to rise at 1:45 a.m. to begin readying for my five-mile walk. I brought my meagre fare upstairs here to my bedroom where I keep my computer, and I ate here. I was probably to bed by or soon after 9:30 p.m.
I expect by then my brother figured out that he was on his own for the evening.
After some sleep, I found myself suspiciously awake, so I finally peeked at the time ─ it was 1:44 a.m. Since I had no desire to be hearing my cellphone alarm, I immediately rose and cancelled it.
The house was in darkness, for my eldest stepson likely was working a 12-hour graveyard shift (6 p.m. to 6 a.m.). I could ready for my walk in full privacy.
By the time I was outside and on my way, it was 2:15 a.m., and the night air was cooler than I expected ─ probably because the sky was clear of all cloud.
I had my usual stop early into the walk at an elementary school playground for six sets of pull-ups and chin-ups, leading off with four repetitions in the first set, and squeezing out two repetitions in the subsequent five sets.
The final two sets were pull-ups between two gymnastics-style rings, so the second pull-up in each of those sets was far from complete. However, I did my best to hold the final pull-up of the night for a count of 10.
I was not to do any jogging. I need proper footwear, but dare not risk any such outlay until I see where things stand following the payment of our annual property taxes in one month (actually, July 3, I believe). And even then, I would have to order such footwear online because I do not drive and have no desire to be out walking during the busy daytime.
I made two interesting sightings as I walked the 'lower' part of 100th Avenue from 140th to 148th Streets (Google Map).
A block or so past 140th Street, I glanced ahead of me into the distance and was just in time to notice a largish dark animal cross the sidewalk and enter into the Green Timbers Urban Forest.
The sighting was brief ─ approximately a block ahead of me ─ and the animal unilluminated, so I could not recognize what it was. However, I might venture it to have at least been a raccoon. Whatever the case, it was large enough to put some caution into my mind, and I opted to walk the centre of the highway until I had well passed the area.
The next sighting was another largish animal ─ this time I noticed it before it had completely crossed 100th Avenue and then the sidewalk as it, too, disappeared into the forest. This creature was practically at the intersection of 148th Street ─ just this side of it. I saw it well enough to be able to tell that it was probably orangish, and either a fox or coyote. Since foxes are very rare hereabouts, the likely candidate was a coyote.
This time I was not as concerned, since it was not as mysterious as the first unidentified creature. There is a trail right where the probable coyote had disappeared, so I was not uneasy that it might just be lurking in undergrowth awaiting a sneak attack upon me.
Anyway, I was back home and outside the house at 4:10 a.m. And I was probably back in bed little past 5:30 a.m.
I was weary enough that I did manage to ease off into some sleep; but after about two hours of getting to bed I found myself so wide awake I nearly rose for the morning.
I managed to resist solely because by then my eldest stepson was home, and I did not wish to rob him of his cherished early morning privacy ─ for had I risen I would have wanted a coffee. I eventually lapsed back into some semblance of sleep, and next checked the time and rose nearly 9:30 a.m.
When I joined my brother for some T.V., I put our Android TV Box to work and tuned in yesterday's 1½-hour (1:34:47) livestream of Odessa Orlewicz's latest effort: Interview With Shawn Buckley Of The National Citizens Inquiry.

I just wish that Odessa could reign in her unnecessary compulsion to interrupt her guests' revelations. She twice did so when Shawn Buckley was telling of his legal defence of the 'inventor' of the (Jim) Strauss Heart Drops, and the second time entirely derailed him from getting to the outcome of his story. He had just gotten to the part where he had rounded up several people who wanted to give live testimonials, and he had perhaps thousands of other unsolicited testimonials that Jim Strauss had collected over the years that had been mailed to him.
Odessa regularly makes these interruptions to add absolutely nothing revelatory ─ she just spouts the same trivia we are all so very familiar with already.
So we never heard the court case outcome, thanks to this infernally annoying habit of hers.

Following this latter video, my brother retired to his bedroom for some rest. I fixed up my day's first meal, ate that, and was into my bed for an early afternoon nap when my brother emerged from his room and left for the day to socialize.
The day was very sunny, so I put in around 1½ hours of sunning out in the backyard, beginning at 2:30 p.m., I believe.
I will be sitting up this evening watching T.V., and enjoying a couple cans of the strong (8% alcohol) malt that I have in stock. I only hope that my brother is not too deep into the latter evening with his homecoming, for I would like to be able to tune in an episode each of three of the T.V. series that we follow in common via our Android TV Box.
As of sunset, I will be commencing my Sabbath fast, although the malt will undeniably be a small transgression.
