A Decent Action Movie

My wife was certain that an agent at a financial institution she is hoping will extend her a $10,000 line of credit (with me as co-signer) was to phone us back today shortly after midday, but no call came. We had talked to the agent about two weeks ago, and in the meantime I had complied with a couple of required documents on my part to set me up as an account holder ─ my wife has been one for possibly a couple or more years.

They even mailed me a debit card that I am supposed to set up by using it at an ATM, but I have no interest in doing so, for I am only involved in this business so that my wife can have the 'loan'.

Besides, I have no money at the institution to withdraw, nor am I about to be depositing any there just to get my ATM card activated.

So I am left almost wondering if she is perhaps not getting her line of credit, and this is nothing more than an effort to acquire me as an account holder.

Anyway, she found out that her Thai restaurant part-time workplace wanted her to work late this afternoon (she normally has Wednesdays off), so she left here towards mid-afternoon ─ the restaurant opens daily at 4:30 p.m. after closing at 3 p.m. for 1½ hours.

But on to my day.

I was awake well ahead of my 1:30 a.m. cellphone alarm that was to have gotten me up for a five-mile+ walk. In fact, I rose late into the midnight hour, but I had to remain shut up here in my bedroom because everyone else still seemed to be up, including my younger brother who was watching T.V.

So I slowly readied for the outing. Eventually I heard my brother come upstairs to his bedroom for the night, and my wife had already retired for the night in her own by then. By the time I was ready to leave, only one of my stepsons was likely still up, and he was hidden away in the boys' den area.

An online check of the claimed temperature for hereabouts had retrieved -0.5° Celsius (32.9° F.), but when I finally left here at 1:51 a.m. and put in my walk (returning at possibly 3:46 a.m.), I never saw too much frost. It seemed to mostly be on parked cars, although there were occasional appearances of some on vegetation like moss or other very low plants massed together and not any higher than moss.

Fully clothed I had weighed between 192 - 192½ pounds.

When I got to the elementary school playground three or four blocks from here for a half dozen sets of pull-ups and chin-ups, I found the equipment wet with condensation and very cold, but not yet frosty.

I opted to exercise barehanded and was able to open with four (or was it just three?) and then two pull-ups in the first two sets; three and then two chin-ups in the middle two sets; and then two pull-ups between a pair of bars in the final two sets. I held the very last pull-up at highest elevation for a 15-count, and that was just about as long as my hands were able to handle the cold metal.

As usual, I finished up with 11 slow full-range push-ups in a declined position on a cement ramp.

The walk was not too eventful in terms of having to avoid anyone else out there in the night ─ two or three times I lost a wee bit of time in that process.

I never got back to bed until after 5 a.m., but I did not look to know exactly when. Sleep was not to prove too cooperative. The second time I found myself exceptionally awake and curious on the time, wondering if I should get up, it was not yet 7 a.m., so I tried for more sleep.

My next time check found that it was just after 10 a.m. ─ how does this happen?!

No doubt my brother was wondering when the heck I was going to come downstairs so that we could watch videos on T.V. via our Android TV Box.

When I did join him, he was to be leaving around 10:10 a.m. to go and pick up his girlfriend Bev a couple of mile from here to drive her to work, so I had time to set something up in his absence.

My choice was a 22-minute (22:32) video, and was from a post made just today on Dr. William Makis's Substack: VIDEO - California COVID Nurse exposes deadly COVID-19 Hospital Protocols (Remdesivir), and flood of COVID-19 Vaccine Injuries (posted Dec.10, 2023 by Children Health's Defense).

I know that the same threat on employment is going on right here even today in my province of British Columbia.

We next watched the remainder of a movie I had previously recorded, and which we only had time yesterday to watch 22 minutes of ─ 2017's 24 Hours to Live.

It was darned interesting. Ethan Hawke was very believable, and his co-star Xu Quing quite the attractive action star ─ and she may have been as much as 48 years old at the time!

Naturally the action was impossible, but it was still exciting. My only complaint ─ ditto for my brother ─ was the unclear ending.

I do not have the time to speak more of the movie ─ I want to get out of here on a walk in order to free up my night, and it is already after 8 p.m.

I will likely have no time to add anything further in this post, but I will refrain from publishing it until I have returned from my shopping hike. If my brother is already home, then I will simply publish the post and you will see nothing more after this statement.

Or not.

Maybe I will just get to bed soon and have another wee a.m. walk.
