I will be breaking from this post in order to hustle over to Surrey Place (Central City) to visit the post office just as I did 24 hours previously, but this time I will bring a couple of bills that had recently been mailed to me ─ an unwritten requirement by a clerk yesterday who refused to verify my identify with my photo ID alone for purposes of opening up an account with a barcode at a financial institution, even though that financial institution's instructions stipulated no such requirement (they cited provincial photo ID as being all that was required).
At least it has not been raining today, although the sky remained overcast.
I had no sooner published yesterday's post and gone downstairs to gather together some supper when my wife showed up ─ that was unexpected.
I killed time awaiting my younger brother's arrival home by watching women's MMA matches on YouTube ─ naturally, I watched them on T.V. through the means of our Android TV Box.
I held off on having any cans of Cariboo Malt (8% alcohol) until my brother was home and we began watching the latest episode of The Graham Norton Show ─ i.e., episode nine of season or series 31. Quite unusually, all four of the guests were American.
One of them was Cher, whom I had no idea I was going to enjoy as much as I did. She's a little less than 3½ years my senior.
After Graham Norton it was an episode of American Ninja Warrior ─ the final episode of season 15, as it happened. Apparently it was episode 14, but Wikipedia does not list the actual episodes with any descriptions.
There is actually an episode 15 ─ a couples episode. I expect that my brother and I will be watching that one late this evening.
Anyway, we tapered off our viewing last night with some random YouTube videos, and I felt it necessary to have myself a shot glass of Kraken Black Spiced Rum (47% alcohol) after finishing my second can of Cariboo Malt.
I took an abrupt break from this post because it was already 5:15 p.m., and I had not even begun to ready for my hike to Surrey Place a mile from here ─ the post office closes today at 7 p.m.
But before I get into that, I want to say a little about my earlier day.
I rose this morning around 8:30 a.m., and was just able to take possession of the T.V. at 9 a.m. because my tardy brother was that late in finally emerging from his bedroom.
I had put our Android TV Box to work and had a video set to play ─ Odessa Orlewicz's 41-minute (41:46) livestream from yesterday: New York Governor Makes Changes So She Can Round Up Any Groups Of People & Put Them In Detention Centres.
Everything we have been trying to warn humanity about has just been put into place in New York . Watch how the governor did it, and her desperation to put this into place even after she failed and lost in the lower courts. A new so called law now allows the government to choose anyone they like, (even if they are not sick, nor have been "exposed to sickness) and send the police to pick them up and put them "anywhere" the like. The can also put entire groups of people in detention centres and force vaccinate & perform medical procedures. I also talk about 3 other recent clown show events that have happened.
Then I tuned in a fun and interesting video that just exceeded an hour (1:06:14) and which had been added back on January 28 to Rumble's America's Untold Stories channel: Sonora House: Artists, Music, Sex, Deer Meat, UFOs, & Ghosts.
In the late 1970s Mark Groubert worked with a group of artists to restore an abandoned Hotel in the Catskill Mountains. There were very unexpected turns.
Video clip at beginning had to be removed due to copyright claim. See full video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eCWfyggVgE
Closing track: Going Up the Country - Canned Heat - Cover by Rolling Suitcase - Live at Hof Biergarten https://youtu.be/VkQrigU8yMQ
We finished up with an episode of an old British sitcom titled Happiness ─ all episodes of its two seasons are presently available at this link to YouTube's BEAST channel. And I only just now realized that we watched the series finale ─ episode six ("People Move On") of season or series two.
What a sad way for a comedy series to finish ─ it was more of a tragedy. Well, I won't be missing it much ─ there were certainly some truly attractive actresses in the series to look at, but I did not care for any of the male characters.
My brother never bothered with any bed rest whatsoever after the episode. He just freshened up and left for the day.
I had my day's first meal, and then debased myself. I would have been useless without bed rest of my own, so before it was quite mid-afternoon I took to my bed.
I should have done so far earlier, but at least I did successfully rest.
Now, on to my trip to the post office.
It was at least 5:45 p.m. by the time I set off, but all went well. And guess what? I did not need to produce anything mailed to me ─ my provincial photo ID was all I needed.
Yesterday there were two people manning the counter ─ a man and woman. The woman 'helped' me uselessly yesterday. Today, the same two were in attendance, but the luck of the draw got me the man this time. She was looking askance as he dealt with me in true helpful fashion, so I don't know what was going on with her yesterday.
Since I did not wish to waste the outing by just coming back home and then having to get up overnight at 1:30 a.m. to ready for a five-mile+ walk, I undertook the walk after leaving Surrey Place.
It was so very mild out that I had to entirely undo my black leather jacket as well as remove my gloves.
I was back home by maybe 7:50 p.m. No one was home when I left, no one was here when I got back, and I am still home alone as I type these words at 9:03 p.m.
I will be sitting up late again with my brother once he is home, so I am going to terminate this post here and go and have some supper while I watch a little T.V. and await my brother.
By the way, my wife had to work a full day today at the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time, so she will be showing up at some point tonight.
