Snow Away!

The intention had been nursed yesterday that I might undertake a brand new walk route in the evening, but when I left home the combined blowing rain and snow was already threatening me with brain freeze, and it was apparent that I was at some risk of becoming quite wet.

Consequently I scrapped the novel hike and just resumed the usual familiar five-mile+ route.

Fortunately the wind was only an issue for me within 1½ miles of home ─ both going and returning. And the snow did blanket the ground with white everywhere, providing me with welcome cushioning for the occasional jogging that I undertook to both generate body heat and to shorten the duration of my outing.

I arrived back home to find my younger brother planted before the T.V. in the living room.

Before joining him I spent some time tending to a few things, noticing that he had meantime passed out. Thus, when I finally did join him, I took the T.V. right over in order to give control to our Android TV Box. The intervening silence did rouse him, but I have little doubt that he had absolutely no idea that he had been watching anything.

Note that I had reversed my walk because my monthly pension had been directly deposited that day, and I wanted to make a withdrawal at my financial institution's ATM. Since I did not wish to be bearing the withdrawal for the major portion of my walk, I reversed it so that I would be able to access the $300 I was to extract while I was about a mile from my return home.

Then after I was home, I transferred all but something under $100 from the joint chequing account where the money had been deposited, over into my private account so that it would be safe from pilfering by my wife.

So what did I tune in over the evening for my brother and I to watch?

First was an episode of The Avengers ─ this time, season or series two's episode 11 ("Traitor in Zebra").

Then for a change of pace, an episode of The Graham Norton Show ─ this one was season or series 31's episode 16. She may not have contributed all that much as a guest, but I very much enjoyed Dakota Johnson. Her superheroine movie Madame Web looks both intriguing and exciting. Incidentally, I am unsure if I have ever watched her act in anything before.

My wife finally arrived home from work during Graham's show.

The last show we were to watch was Big Little Lies ─ episode six ("The Bad Mother") of season two. So, just one more episode to go, although Wikipedia says Nicole Kidman claims there is to be a third season.

After that, we just watched a couple of random YouTube videos via the SmartTube app that I have downloaded into our Android TV Box.

It is possible that I was to bed by maybe 2 a.m., and I had only drank two cans of Cariboo Malt (8% alcohol).

My morning was to start around 8:20 a.m. when I rose. By then, there seemed no trace of snow ─ rain and mild temperatures had melted it.

When my brother and I got together around 9:15 a.m. for some T.V., I was only to tune in one show via our Android TV Box. It had been streamed on February 23 to Rumble's Bright Light News channel: ICS5 LIVE! DAY 1 FEB 23, 2024.

This video of the International Crisis Summit 5 held in Washington DC topped four hours, so we did not even watch half of it. My brother had left for at least 20 minutes soon after 10:10 a.m. to go and pick up his girlfriend Bev and drive her to work (affording me the opportunity for some exercise out in the backyard tool shed); and then at 11:30 a.m. he announced that he was seeking some early bed rest.

So I killed the video and brought my day's gatherings of a first meal here to my bedside computer. My brother could not possibly have napped, for he emerged from his bedroom and left for the day before I was to bed ere quite 12:45 p.m. for a too-short nap.

My wife rose during my nap and left on errands, returning around 3 p.m. She has today off work.

It has been quite a wet day, but I have not noticed it raining especially hard.

Or at least, that was so until a little ahead of 7 p.m. By then it was raining most efficiently out there!

I have a wee a.m. walk planned for which I intend to be rising at 1:30 a.m. to ready for, so I am hoping things calm down by then.

My wife prepared a most delicious supper, I must say. I thought afterwards to enjoy a beer while watching some T.V., but I managed to abstain from opening the can and watched Prodigal Son entirely dry. (A major reason for that is that I only have five cans remaining in my supply.)

The episode was season one's episode 17 ("Stranger Beside You"), and was most absorbing ─ it tends to be an excellent series of shows.

Unfortunately for me, I just now got curious to see who the actress was portraying Eve, the younger adult sister of one of the victim's of Malcolm's mass murderer father. In seeking her name, I found this bit of identification in Wikipedia: "Molly Griggs as Eve Blanchard (season 1), Malcolm's deceased girlfriend, a lawyer who has an interest in fighting human trafficking".

So now I already know that they will be killing her off!

I am going to conclude this post here. It is already just past 8:30 p.m., and I ought to be in bed soon after 9 p.m.
