I am quite confident that I was to bed ahead of 9:30 p.m. yesterday, but it just does not seem possible for me to sleep through to my 1:30 a.m. alarm when I have it set. Even so, I did remain in bed striving for sleep until it finally chimed for me to rise and ready for my five-mile+ walk.
Fully dressed, I again weighed around 186 pounds.
I was on my way at 2:18 a.m., I think. The sky seemed overcast, but I noticed at least a couple of the brightest stars were still somewhat visible. And although it was well above freezing, a stiff breeze kept it rather uncomfortably chilly.
I found the elementary school playground equipment to again be perfectly dry, but I cannot seem to do better than three and then two pull-ups in the first two sets; the same with chin-ups in the next two sets; and the usual pair of pull-ups between a pair of gymnastics-style rings in the final two sets.
And as usual, I held the very last pull-up for a 20-count before heading over to a cement ramp for 11 slow full-range push-ups in a declined position.
Fortunately I had nothing to report concerning the walk; and I seemed to have employed a decent pace, for it was 4:14 a.m. once I was back home.
For the second consecutive post-walk, I had a hot mug of instant coffee to ensure that I would have sufficient body heat when I later returned to bed.
I was to make that return ahead of 5:30 a.m., and remained there for the next three hours.
After joining my brother soon after 9 a.m. for some morning T.V. and getting the green light from him to put our Android TV Box into action, I led us off with a 1¼-hour (1:15:18) video uploaded back on May 31, 2016, to YouTube's Real Stories channel: Breaking Up With The Joneses: Family Divided (Divorce Documentary) | Real Stories.
This film charts the break-up and the subsequent fall-out as Lynne and Stephen attempt new lives apart after 10 years of marriage.
This DailyMail.co.uk article does an excellent job of telling the story: Anatomy of a bitter divorce.
I was expecting my brother to complain about watching the long documentary, but he proved to be interested enough.
I made a small effort to try and learn more of both the parents and the two sons, but I came up dry.
Next we watched a 28-minute (28:44) documentary uploaded on March 6, 2013, to YouTube's The Best Film Archives channel: The Vietnam War - 1st Infantry Division_Full Length Historical Documentary_Combat Footages in Color.
The video presents the major battle actions of the 1st Infantry Division in Vietnam, as well as some of their civic action projects there.
The original title of this video is: First Infantry Division in Vietnam (1971). The documentary is a part of "The Big Picture" series produced by the U.S. Army.
Refer to the full YouTube description ─ it is far too long to reproduce here.
My brother correctly identified that it was a propaganda piece, and did almost nothing by way of citing any setbacks in that conflict ─ one would believe that the U.S. actually won that war if all one ever knew of it was what this documentary showed.
As well, it was most impersonal, not highlighting any of the individual combatants.
The final video we watched was the premiere episode of the six-part miniseries The Plot Against America.
I had previously recorded the episode, but I think that you can easily enough watch that first episode here at this link at UpMovies.to.
I knew Zoe Kazan was in that episode, but I only now realized that the familiar actress I was not identifying was actually Winona Ryder! Even then at the age of 46 or 47, she was quite a cutie.
After the episode my brother sought some bed rest. I had a meal, and was to bed for a nap when he emerged from his bedroom. This is his day to bus off to rendezvous at a pub with anywhere from one to three drinking buddies he normally would not see otherwise, so I have no idea when to expect him back.
Neither of my stepsons has contributed towards next Thursday's mortgage payment by way of a transfer into my account, so once again I shall not be venturing forth in the evening for any combination walk and grocery shopping.
It is only a little past 6 p.m. right now
Consequently, it doth seem that I shall yet again be having a fairly early evening of it, and rising at 1:30 a.m. to begin readying then for a walk.
The earlier nap I had left me with a near-headache of the eyestrain variety ─ it is so damned discouraging concluding a nap by feeling like that. I have not normalized, either.
I am almost tempted to just go to bed for a better nap, and then getting out for an evening walk so that I can sit up late and watch some T.V. with my brother while enjoying a couple of cans of beer.
It's a bugger being financially dependent upon others.
All that aside, I made the decision that I was going to remain home and get to bed relatively early, so I had a small supper while watching an episode of FBI ─ episode 18 ("Obligation") of season five.
It is presently approaching 7:40 p.m., so I am going to put a cap right here on this post and have myself ready to get to bed ─ I may need to do so quickly if my brother shows up soon. The early a.m. walk has priority over evening T.V. with him.
