A Pretty Good Movie

It seems to me now that it may have been 9:15 p.m. or later before I got to bed last evening, and still my younger brother had not gotten back via bus from where he had gone to do his social drinking.

I do not recall being disturbed of my sleep, although it was still of the fractured variety. And again, I did not require my 4 a.m. alarm, finding myself awake far earlier ─ heck, I was on my way to the elementary school playground maybe three blocks hence before it was yet 4 a.m., and back by 4:15 a.m.

My wife had never come home.

Although it was my second consecutive night of exercising at the school playground, I performed much better. I had a fully clothed weigh-in of 188 pounds at most before I left home, so that was a mysterious drop of about two pounds even though I never had a bowel movement yesterday ─ how can one lose two pounds, yet take in food while excreting none of it?

The equipment was essentially dry, but I did use my bandana to give three or so quick wipes to deal with any possible damp sheen. And so my performance was as follows:

  • Two sets of pull-ups (6-2)
  • Two sets of chin-ups (3-3)
  • Two sets of pull-ups on a pair of gymnastics-style rings (2-2)
  • One set of two pull-ups between two jungle gym monkey bars

After completing the final pull-up between the two monkey bars, I held a loose dead hang for a 60-count. Joints and tissues certainly do stretch during such a hang ─ even my biceps start to feel like they are going to begin tearing, despite not having them tensed.

And I finished up on the nearby cement ramp with 10 slow full-range push-ups ─ three more than I could eke out the previous night.

After I was back home and just about to remove my footwear in my bedroom, my brother issued forth from his bedroom to go downstairs and seek sleep on the chesterfield in the living room. He had no sooner gotten comfortable than Bev sallied out from the bedroom to go downstairs and confront him about it, but I could only hear her concluding assurance to him that they would work things out "tomorrow".

If she was guilty of flopping about on the bed and disrupting his sleep, or else coughing excessively with her COPD and having the same result, I do not know.

♣♣♣♣♣

Damn it, I dawdled away the afternoon and into the early evening on this, a bath day. I never tended to that chore until my social-drinking brother returned home at 7 p.m.

Obviously I have no further blogging time, but I do want to mention two morning videos he and I watched.

First I will mention an 18-minute video uploaded yesterday to YouTube's AnitaK channel: Where was this CTV reporter during the Liberal Debate?

Was CTV's Mike LeCouteur green screened? Was it made to look he was the same room as Liberal candidates? Chrystia Freeland, Karina Gould, Frank Baylis, Mark Carney. Mike reported for Vassy Kapelos on Power Play and Omar Sachedina on the national newscast.

I like Anita, so I gave her video a "Like" even though it seemed to me like a lot of fuss over little.

The second video I will mention was one I had downloaded some while back ─ a movie. We had watched maybe the first half of it yesterday, so we finished it off this morning.

Specifically it was 2016's The Purge: Election Year.

We are slowly working our way through the franchise, and I am finding them to be far better than I ever anticipated ─ I do not enjoy gratuitous slasher movies; but I can handle them if they have an ending in which 'good' clearly triumphs. They need a definitive ending in which the 'evil' are utterly routed, and not those crappy movies where the central villain somehow lives on to return in the future.

And I've always thought actress Elizabeth Mitchell was exceptionally and naturally gorgeous!

Oh heck! I have just now seen where it was that I first grew to adore the actress so much ─ the T.V. series Lost. I had completely forgotten that she was a regular ─ I only ever remember super hot Evangeline Lilly.

I cannot say for certain what my download source for the movie was, but it might have been this OK.ru link.

I might as well stop blogging here, for it is now 8:17 p.m., and my brother is likely to be soon inviting me downstairs to put our Android TV Box to work so we can watch a few of our shows ─ Bev does not tend to last much past 9 p.m. on her white wine.

Originally I had thought that I might get out this evening for some local grocery shopping, but my bath is almost always the death of such plans; but of course, so is my brother's early arrival home.

Anyway, I am anticipating a late night. Normally if he has drunk excessively before returning home, he quickly passes out; but he seems to have been keeping it together since showing up.

Enough ─ I expect I will be back blogging tomorrow.
