Yesterday I lacked the time to mention in this blog that in the latter afternoon, I went out to the backyard tool shed before it was yet dark and had some exercise there, intending to exercise further back in the house. Well, my near glee at my totals in the first set of pull-ups seemed to have obliterated all of my intentions for afterwards.
My first two sets of pull-ups (7-2) were followed by two sets of chin-ups (3-3) and then two sets of pull-ups (2-2) between the infant's slide ladder that I have stretched across three rafters and use to exercise with. I had one final set that just involved a loose hang from the ladder's sides for a 40-count.
I had meant to weigh myself full clothed as I had been in the shed, but I totally forgot. I also forgot about the other exercising that I well intended. Part of the blame can go to coming into the kitchen from the backyard and deciding to load up on my supper then to take upstairs with me, rather than coming down later in full view of Bev watching T.V. in the living room (my younger brother had bused away to go social drinking, so she was alone).
Once I brought my supper upstairs here to my bedside computer, I had nearly finished it when I remembered my forgotten further exercising, but by then my belly was too engorged for any such activity.
That day was a bath day, so I still had that chore to get out of the way ─ it is always darned near the loss of an hour, and as a result uses up time that I might have used for anything else such as blogging or even readying to go out to do any local shopping.
Towards the finish of that bath time, I concluded that I was hearing my brother back home, and it proved to be so. He was in far superior condition to his homecoming the day before that.
He was not home as early as that previous day when he was 'stinking drunk', but it was still a lot earlier than is usual. Bev's presence must be forcing his hand to come home earlier than he otherwise would.
Unfortunately for me as I worked on that day's blog post, just past 7:30 p.m. he invited me to join him and begin operating our Android TV Box (he doesn't understand its operation), otherwise he and Bev would only be able to watch whatever they might find of interest through our basic Telus cable package.
Well, I did reluctantly break from my blogging to join them around 7:40 p.m., realizing that I was sacrificing my time because I would thereafter have to sit up into the early a.m. to finish a truncated post and pre-date it to match the day it represented before I published it.
I was just about to select an episode of a series I watch with my brother when Bev said something to my brother along the lines of, "What about my show?"
I enquired of them, and my brother then remembered that at 8 p.m. on Wednesdays she regularly watches The Masked Singer or some such show.
Great, I thought! That would give me plenty of time to work on and complete a proper blog post!
So I cooperatively began backing out of the Android TV Box and setting the T.V. back for their control, while all the time Bev kept exclaiming that I didn't have to be doing that, and that her show didn't matter.
I of course insisted, since I had such valuable personal use of that time. But she chose to assume that I was in a huff and taking high offence for being denied and snubbed of use of the T.V.
I came back upstairs here to my computer and resumed work, but I could hear my brother insisting to her that they would set up her T.V. ─ which had been just sitting on the living room floor since she moved in here early last Saturday evening ─ in the bedroom, and she could watch her show in peace. Even from bed if she so desired!
So up the stairs they came, and she stood in my bedroom doorway profusely apologizing unnecessarily, and making such a fuss that she was not hearing my attempt to explain that I was busy here at my computer and actually needed that time. But she is notoriously semi-deaf and kept over-talking me until I was unable to hide my irritation and shortage of patience, which she of course further attributed to me being angry about being deprived on my T.V. time downstairs.
So I gave up on her. She had been drinking white wine already, and was further obtuse because of it ─ not just due to her semi-deafness.
But once my brother got her set up in his (their) bedroom, he of course renewed his invitation to join him downstairs, so I was back to where I had been before ─ my post was far from anywhere near completion.
I was to tune in six shows before he was finally drunk enough to seek bed ─ these are the shows in this sequence:
- Bergerac ─ episode seven ("Last Chance for a Loser") of season or series one.
- The Graham Norton Show ─ episode 14 of current season or series 32.
- Bodyguard ─ "Episode 5" of its only short season or series.
- Chicago Fire ─ episode 10 ("Something For the Pain") of season 11.
- Chicago P.D. ─ episode 11 ("Long Lost") of season 10.
- My Family ─ episode two ("Shrink Rap") of season or series three.
My brother passed out for almost all of Bergerac; ditto for My Family. He may well have gotten properly to bed in his own bedroom by 1 a.m., but I was up for another hour or so working on the blog post.
Concerning Bergerac, a guest actress named Sarah Douglas has fairly recently gotten some roles in a few big North American action movies, but I am unfamiliar with her. As well, I used as my source for the episode this link at Archive.org.
And on The Graham Norton Show, I was struck by how emaciated Michelle Yeoh's arms and shoulders seemed to be, yet she claims to work out daily. Also, the songstress Griff near the episode's conclusion was unknown to me, but I enjoyed her rousing performance (last night's mascara) ─ even though the opening couple of lines had me doubting her.
I cannot recall if I had three or else four cans of Cariboo Malt (7.9% alcohol) over the evening.
Naturally morning arrived too early, for I rose ere 8 a.m. because I had noticed that it was growing light outside and I was unpleasantly awake ─ returning to sleep would take longer than I had the time for.
As yesterday, my brother never made his appearance until long after I had taken possession of the T.V., so it must have been at least 9:45 a.m. before I heard him in the kitchen. As I believe I may already have said, he did manage to spend the night sharing his bed with Bev, for he descended the stairs when he made his appearance.
Bev never made her own appearance until my brother had returned to the bedroom ahead of noon for some further bed rest.
By then he and I had watched a few videos, beginning with a 10-minute (10:32) video uploaded yesterday to YouTube's AnitaK channel: Eby Axes Grocery Rebate.
BC Premier, David Eby cancel rebate and blames Trump tariffs and breaks major election promise to British Columbians to help with cost of living.
Next was an 11-minute video published yesterday at Rumble's Libertytalkcanada channel: Help STOP BC Government Fentanyl Dealing At Tax Payer Expense!! QUICK ACTION STEP!
The description to that one is rather involved, so please refer to the original source.
After that was a 17-minute (17:40) video uploaded August 2, 2022, to YouTube's History at The OK Corral channel: The Rescue of The Donner Party: A Horrible Ordeal.
Many people think they know the story of the Donner Party, but the truth is far darker and more terrible than most could ever imagine. Join us for our first installment of the true story of one of the most horrific events in human history.
This was followed by a 35-minute video published March 7, 2022, to BitChute's Page Chronicles - TRUTH Will Prevail channel: THE TWILIGHT ZONE - Where Is Everybody? ...1959... (Pilot).
Intro by Rod Serling (Time: 8:10)
The Twilight Zone, Where Is Everybody, released in 1959, first pilot version, directed by Robert Stevens, written by Rod Serling, starring Earl Holliman, James Gregory and Paul Langton....
Actually, refer to Wikipedia's article for a far more comprehensive description: Where Is Everybody?
We next got into a 1962 black & white British 'coming of age' movie, but only got about 40 or so minutes into it with another hour to go when my brother decided to seek his bed rest, so I will wait until we have watched it all before I report on it.
My wife never came home last night, but she did message me via Facebook a number of times this afternoon. Her birthday is on Saturday, but I have not gotten her anything ─ nor did I for Valentine's Day six days ago.
Consequently when she asked me very politely if she could have $100 because she was going out later today for a birthday dinner, I was okay with making the transfer (she was not to be coming home and thus would not be here to have the money handed to her in cash). I'm just hoping that she was not already partying and throwing money away, for she'll be after more if that's what's going on.
By the way, while I was having my early afternoon nap, my brother and Bev actually went off somewhere together on errands, one of which was to replenish their respective drinking supplies. Then after they returned, he left afoot to catch a bus to engage his usual daily social drinking.
He has not returned as early as he has the previous two days.
I was intending to avoid involvement with him this evening where watching our shows is concerned, but to do so would mean three consecutive days of such avoidance, for I will be unavailable to him until Sunday evening due to my Sabbath fast that commences Friday at dark; and my full intention of rising early a.m. Sunday to be prepared to head out a little later in the a.m. to do some grocery shopping somewhere ─ I will need to be getting to bed at a sensible evening hour Saturday night for the Sunday morning venture.
Perhaps I will 'play it by ear' this evening, unless my brother does not get home until late. If he is back before too much longer, I will assess how he sounds when he speaks out to Bev who has been watching T.V. ever since they got back from their outing. If he's clearly plastered ... well, forget sitting up with the guy!
And wouldn't you know it! As I have been typing these words, I could hear what seemed to be two T.V.s in the house playing. I finally realized that wine-drunk Bev had sneaked upstairs to the bedroom to watch T.V. there leaving the T.V. blaring away in the living room ─ only the two of us are home.
This is getting to be a bit much. I can't even watch my own shows on T.V. anymore because she does nothing else all day! I used to try and watch an episode or even a movie a day if there was any time.
Anyway, that's enough rambling for today. It is 8:32 p.m.
