Before I went to bed last evening, I heard someone come into the house, so I shut myself up into my bedroom to avoid my possible younger brother newly home from his daily social drinking.
However, I quickly enough perceived that it was unlikely him, and so it proved ─ it was my wife home from her full day of work at the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time. And so I opened my bedroom door again.
I was to learn that she was suffering a strong headache that had barely allowed her to finish her workday, and now she was home to seek refuge in her bed from the oppression. I think that she had taken aspirin at work, and was here to pursue some further anodyne ─ I heard her mention Advil, something I would prefer avoiding.
All in all, she was not home 10 minutes before shutting herself up in her bedroom and getting to bed for the night. I remained up a little longer, then did the same in my adjoining bedroom. No one else was yet home.
I am quite confident that I was to bed before 11 p.m., and set my cellphone alarm for 6 a.m. just to be sure that I would get up early enough to have some exercise out in the backyard tool shed before my brother was up for the morning.
Oh, I slept badly! I would have risen after a 3:23 a.m. time check, but I was concerned that doing so as early as that would make if much too difficult to endure remaining up for the remainder of the morning. At least by forcing myself to just lie in bed is rest in itself.
Anon I did manage some further sleep, as rather bizarre thoughts only possible during dream would attest.
I was not to dare the frigid tool shed until 7:45 a.m., concerned because of stirrings in my brother's bedroom suggestive that he might be readying to begin his morning.
I have not engaged sets of pull-ups and chin-ups since very early last Thursday, and this time my performance was nothing stellar: three sets of pull-ups (3-2-2); three sets of chin-ups (3-2-2); and two sets of pull-ups (2-2-2) between the sides of the child's slide ladder that I use for these exercises and have spread across some of the shed's rafters for that purpose. I then paused for another 30-count and attempted a loose dead hang, but a 15-count is about as far as I can get because my hands begin to slide from overtop the ladder sides, and the pressure of my thumb joints against those sides very much aggravates the right one especially ─ texting (or trigger) thumb pain due to excessive daily keyboard use.
Unfortunately there were to be no slow full-range push-ups when I got back in the house because I found my brother already downstairs to boil water for coffee and to watch T.V.
I went back upstairs to my bedside computer until shortly after 9 a.m. before joining him ─ he needs his morning T.V. news programmes, something that I cannot understand in someone who is otherwise 'awake'.
After I joined him and got his clearance to put our Android TV Box to work, I led us off with three of the most recent videos at YouTube's AnitaK channel:
- Vassy Digs a TDS Hole and more on Borders and Ports. (25:32) Uploaded February 9.
Apologies, I do curse in this video!
CTV's Power Play, host Vassy Kapelos engages with Alberta Premier Danielle Smith to discuss the potential economic impacts of proposed U.S. tariffs and Alberta's strategy to mitigate them. Premier Smith emphasizes the importance of addressing issues such as fentanyl trafficking to strengthen Alberta's position in negotiations.
The conversation also touches upon the challenges faced by Canadian ports, particularly the Port of Vancouver, in inspecting the vast number of incoming semi-trucks and containers. Due to the high volume of cargo and limited examination facilities, it's challenging to inspect every container thoroughly.

- Governor General Strips Buffy of Order of Canada (8:01) Uploaded February 10
Our Govenor General should really be using her reserve power to get Parliament back to work and call an election but no, Mary Simon has set her sights on ripping the Order of Canada away from singer Buffy Sainte-Marie. Ridiculous.
- Buffy Not Indian & Trudeau/Macron Lovefest! (11:42) Uploaded February 10
CBC Fifth Estate did a background check on singer Buffy Saint-Marie who has recently been stripped of the Order of Canada by Governor General, Mary Simon.
After those, we then watched the two latest videos at Rumble's Libertytalkcanada channel:

The secret service agents that came out with the information both had their cars bombed and they did not know each other. Advice on investing in precious metals is no good to someone like me who barely makes it from month to month. I have no money remaining to buy precious metals. I do not drive, so I cannot even stock up on food, even if I had somewhere to store it away.
After that last video, I had expected that we would watch the final 30 or 40 minutes of the black & white movie we had to cut short a day or two ago, but even though it was only around 11:40 a.m. my brother was already set for further bed rest this brilliantly sunny day.
I still had not sought my early afternoon when he again emerged from his bedroom to drive off on further errands after probably picking up his girlfriend Bev.
I napped, and was up again when he returned at 3:45 p.m. to leave his van before heading off on foot for a bus to take him yonder so he could engage his daily social drinking.
But before he left, he enlisted my help for tomorrow to assist in loading up Bev's furniture and such into some sort of rental vehicle. Due to the restriction on my brother's own driver's licence, a drinking buddy of his is going to have to drive the vehicle over to where Bev lives.
This actually suits me, for I was steeling myself to have to make the four-mile round trip hike this evening over to the government liquor store close by where Bev lives. On my own, I would have only been able to tote home two dozen cans of beer (20 pounds weight); but with a ride, I will purchase four dozen cans to better prolong my supply.
I asked my brother if, then, Bev was finally going to be moving in with us as of tomorrow, but he was unsure. She might wait another day until Thursday.
Oh, how interesting it is going to be hereafter to see how she adapts to life here, and how accommodating he is going to be in keeping her entertained. She's definitely not going to be busing off with him in the afternoon to go drinking as he does every single day ─ is he going to curb these outings to just two or three days a week?
The ignition interlock device mandated on his vehicle for a six-month term would normally be qualified for removal on February 18 (I believe); but he has had several fails in attempting to drive too early in the day following his late drinking of the night before, so it is always possible that these fails will be deemed evidence that he is still a 'drunk driving' risk, and the term will be extended ─ maybe even for another half year, who knows?
But if he does get to drive again next week without this licence restriction, will he then immediately start driving to be near where he likes to drink? Bev could go with him then, if she was feeling up to it ─ which sometimes she does not due to very poor health.
Oh, man, things are about to get far too interesting for my liking!
My wife had another full workday today, so she rose towards 9:40 a.m. to shower and so forth, and was away shortly after 10 a.m. on her rather long drive ─ she seemed to have recovered from her bad headache. I asked her, but was only rewarded with a non-verbal grunted sound that could have meant yes or no.
Bev will be moving in ... and my eldest stepson is to be moving out to share an apartment with his girlfriend that they have leased for a year and will be taking possession of as of February 14, I believe. They'll be living far too many miles from here for me to ever be visiting on my own, so I will only be seeing him anytime he returns here to visit for whatever reason.
I am relieved that I will not have to make that beer hike this evening in the remaining inch or so of snow that we still have after better than a week. Supposedly as of 4 p.m. it was 34ΒΊ F / 1ΒΊ C. out there. This is a bath day, so that was a further complication for me since my baths consume a lot of time and often leave me depleted. Now I need not worry about that.
I will be sitting up late after my brother returns home in the latter evening, watching at least a couple of our shows and having two or three cans of beer. He observed before he left that he realized that he would have to be taking it easy with the drinking later on to best ensure that his ignition interlock device does not fail him when he wants to drive tomorrow.
♥♥♥♥♥
I have just finished that dreaded bath ─ baths take me so darned long, for it's when I shave, including my scalp. And afterwards, I do a scouring of the bathtub to some degree. Consequently, one every four days is all I care to bother with.
Had I not a bath scheduled for today, it is quite possible that I would have ventured out this evening on some manner of shopping, but I had no destination settled upon. However, there is now no time, for it is already after 7 p.m., and I have not even fully dried off.
I really have nothing much else I care to share, so this seems opportune for me to be signing off for today. It is 7:27 p.m.
