As usual, I was unable to sleep in until 6 a.m. When I used the toilet around 5 a.m., I tried to sleep; but finally giving up, I checked the time at 5:56 a.m. and rose then.
A big mug of strong hot instant coffee with the works was in order.
Last night's rain seemed done, but it was so delightfully gloomy at 7 a.m. that once more I felt aggrieved that No Frills does not open then instead of 8 a.m. Also, it would ensure that I could get away on the mile-long round trip before my younger brother had emerged from his bedroom for the morning.
I failed this time. Even though I was on my way just ahead of 8 a.m., he emerged from his bedroom around 7:50 a.m. and thus was privy to my departure.
Anyway, I got the shopping done, and never had to coincide with anyone on the trek in either direction ─ I always appreciate that.
After I was back home and had dressed down here in my upstairs bedroom, I waited until well after 9 a.m. before joining my brother for some T.V. By then, he was eager enough to have me put our Android TV Box into operation.
I had completely forgotten that I intended to already have The Graham Norton Show episode all set to play ─ the episode had failed us yesterday at something like the 14-minute mark, and none of the many other sources I had tried would play other than from the very beginning. Each time I advanced towards where we had finished watching, they would all buffer uselessly. So I had meant to just let it play early this morning from the start and then pause it at 14 minutes, and leave things that way until my brother and I were both prepared to watch our shows together.
Maybe tomorrow, then.
What we did watch began with a nearly 1½-hour (1:27:33) video published yesterday to Rumble's "Coffee and a Mike" Show: Europe Gearing Up for War, Russia, Middle East,Venezuela and More- Martin Armstrong.
Martin Armstrong is an internationally recognized economist, former hedge fund manager, the founder of AE Global Solutions Inc, Socrates, and Armstrong Economics. He talks his recent trip to DC, how he felt after his meeting, escalation of war with Russia beginning in 2026, why oil sanctions will not work on Putin, Middle East, Venezuela, and much more.
Man, this was gloomy!
Our second video was far shorter at 12 minutes (12:15) and so much lighter in tone. It had been uploaded yesterday to YouTube's AnitaK channel: I worry about Doug Ford's IQ | The Reagan Ad Fiasco.
Doug Ford just dropped $75 million on ads during the World Series — and it didn’t sit well with Donald Trump. Now Trump’s firing back with higher Canadian tariffs. Was this a political flex gone wrong, or a strategic blunder? , Who’s really paying the price, and what it means for Canada–U.S. relations? We also have very dim leaders, like David Eby, Elizabeth May and Wab Kinew.
Then I tuned in a horror movie ─ 2010's The Bucks County Massacre.
I had previously recorded it on June 11, but it had been uploaded back on July 3, 2020, to YouTube's Kings of Horror channel: The Bucks County Massacre - DIRECTORS CUT | Full Horror Movie.
My brother never even watched 10 minutes of it. Even though it was not yet 10:50 a.m., he announced that he was returning to his bedroom for further rest, and that I could keep watching it.
So I did.
It was preposterous. And even when I had the volume extremely low, in the later stages of the movie the ongoing hysterical screaming of the young women became so irritating that it was all I could do to endure the show.
The plot was senseless, with no explanation. And instead of having an actual ending ... well, I won't give that away. But I most certainly cannot recommend the movie.
My wife had emerged from her bedroom shortly after my brother had left me, and even though she was in the kitchen and involved with her smartphone, she finally expressed her consternation at the ludicrous screaming of the women and advised that I should just switch over to something else.
Fortunately, she soon headed off to apparently do a little grocery shopping, so I was able to bear the stupid movie all the way through to the credits.
I hate movies in which no character development is involved and thus nobody in the show matters to me. I appreciate such good character portrayal that I find myself interested in learning who the actor or actress was, but I don't give a hoot about the cast in this mess.
My wife returned before I had yet napped (even though I had still not eaten my day's first meal), by which time Bev was up for the day and watching the T.V.
Feeling as if I should at least present myself to my wife as she worked in the kitchen, as opposed to me remaining hidden away in my bedroom, I ventured to the kitchen area until I was noticed. When I was asked if I had yet eaten and I gave my negative, my wife pulled out a dish from the fridge that she had recently brought home from the Thai restaurant where she works part-time.
She microwaved it enough to remove the chill of the fridge, and so I had my first meal of the day.
Then I returned to bed, albeit fully clothed. I didn't believe it was anywhere near 2 p.m. at the time I did so, but I roused just ahead of 3 p.m. as it turned out. I had heard the front door close shut ─ I believe that it must have been my wife leaving to work the latter part of the day, for my brother was downstairs watching T.V. with Bev.
I hate what has come of my life and my marriage.
Anyway, my brother never was to head out to catch a bus to carry him off so he could social drink. In fact, I think that after I had my nap, he may have returned again to his bed. My suspicion is that he drank heavily last night and stayed up far too late.
I think that it's good for him to stay home every once in a while ─ nobody needs to devote himself to social drinking like he does. It is nothing but foolish.
With my wife away, I had some light exercising in her vacant bedroom, of course. And right now it is 6:27 p.m., so I am going to pause from this post to get a light supper into me and then try and watch a couple of shows here on my bedside computer while enjoying a couple tallboy (16 oz) cans of Cariboo Malt (8% alcohol).
I plan on rising at 3 a.m. for an outing to the nearby elementary school playground so I can do some exercising there; consequently this will not be a late evening for me.

First up I watched Prime Suspect ─ episode five ("Regrets, I've Had a Few") of the first season.
Pretty good stuff! And satisfying, entirely unlike the earlier movie. My source for the episode was this uFLIX.to link.
I surprised myself by finishing a tallboy of beer before the show had quite ended.
My second and final show was FBI ─ episode nine ("Descent") of season seven. Darned good! I just resent this 9/11 B.S. when critical minds realize that the Towers were brought down with explosives; and that eye witnesses have claimed never to have seen any planes hitting the Towers.
So ... whatever that's worth.
My episode source was this MoviesGo.sh link. And yet again, I completed drinking a tallboy ere the episode had quite completed. I have not done this since acquiring the two dozen cans.
Right now it is 9:45 p.m. and I just heard my wife arrive home.
I am going to publish this post and seek to be abed no later than 10 p.m ─ as said before, my cellphone alarm will be set for 3 a.m.
