Without checking the time this morning to see if it was near my cellphone alarm setting of 6 a.m., I had to answer Nature's pressing need to pay a visit to the toilet for some relief.
And while doing so, my alarm chimed. It was time to get up for the morning.
I didn't believe that my wife came home last night, but it also seemed to me that I had heard her voice downstairs some time after I had gone to bed (we have separate bedrooms ─ for nearly three years now).
Well, she had come home ─ I later saw her car parked in the driveway.
The reason I thought that maybe she had not come home was that her boss at the Thai restaurant where my wife works part-time, is also one of my wife's two best friends; and it so happens that the woman's husband shares my birthdate, although he is quite a few years younger.
So it seemed likely to me that my wife had gotten involved in a birthday celebration for the guy and had to spend the night at their home rather than risk driving while too drunk.
My plans for this morning included the mile-long round trip hobble to do some grocery shopping at No Frills once it opened at 8 a.m., so I was not going to jeopardize that errand by bothering with any token tool shed exercising this morning.
It was gorgeously gloomy outside, for we probably had some rain overnight, just as we did occasionally during yesterday.
I managed not to leave here until at least 8:05 a.m., which is rather annoying. I should already have been well along my way to the store by 8 a.m., for it is not as if I am fleet of foot with my bum right knee.
But I got the job done and was back home before anyone else had yet risen.
My younger brother was to be the first to do so, by which time I had possession of the living room T.V. and our Android TV Box, for he never emerged from his bedroom until maybe 9:20 a.m. at earliest.
I was all prepared for us to watch a 16-minute (16:09) video uploaded yesterday to YouTube's AnitaK channel: Pipe Dreams. We already have 5 that are dry.
At the video's conclusion, my brother announced that he wanted to watch an NFL game scheduled for 10 a.m., so I surrendered the T.V. over to him, and soon enough began preparing my day's first meal to eat here at my bedside computer.
As far as I know, he never did get further bed rest despite initially looking rather dreadfully abused from his prior drinking and late night. After I ate, I returned to bed for something over two hours, I believe.
I had napped primarily on my left side at first, and normally would have risen upon waking; but I felt too illy slept, so I turned over onto my right side and managed a wee bit further sleep.
My brother was still watching sports, but with Bev as company; and my wife had risen, apparently only having to work the latter part of today.
She left on her fairly long drive fairly soon after 3 p.m., I would say. My brother had broken from his T.V. sports and showered; and then just ahead of 3:40 p.m. he also left ─ on foot to catch a bus and begin his essential daily social drinking.
Right now it is 4:23 p.m., so I am going to break from this post and have some light exercising in my wife's vacant bedroom (mine is too small and cluttered). Thereafter I do believe that I will tune in a Christmas movie and begin a little drinking as well.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, so I am going to take advantage of the holiday by visiting Shoppers Drug Mart that opens at 8 a.m., just as does No Frills ─ they are in the same shopping plaza. Had tomorrow not been the holiday, I would have risen at 3 a.m. for some exercising at the usual elementary school playground.
Since I only need to be getting up tomorrow at 6 a.m., it is not crucial at all that I get to bed around 10 p.m. Heck, 11 p.m. or even later is adequate.

The movie I watched was 2018's Christmas Joy.
Almost at outset, she whom I perceived was likely to be the lead actress began to be very familiar. Her face's expressions ─ what were these features so appealing and well known to me?
Her name ─ Danielle Panabaker ─ didn't seem to have significance.
And then recognition dawned ─ it was the character "Frost" from The Flash (I can't think at present what her 'normal' name is on the series).
I like the actress on that series, so this augured to be a truly enjoyable experience.
And it was! I just didn't realize that she was as tall as she seemed to be in this movie.
I went through two cans of Cariboo Malt (8% alcohol), but never got physically emotional until at least the final quarter of the show ─ maybe even the last 15 minutes. 'Twas then the tears openly flowed.
But I enjoyed the movie from the start, and could easily watch it again at the coming Christmastime in the proper company.
I watched the movie initially at this OK.ru link, but felt the volume to be too low. I then quickly switched over to this CineGo.tv link, but found the volume to be pretty much the same. Nonetheless, since I was already there, I kept with it until into the 48-minute mark when I made one further try ─ this was at this uFLIX.to link.
The volume was a little louder, but is was sufficient to retain my custom for what remained of the movie.
By the way, actress Susan Hogan as the male lead's mother was a most 'handsome' woman, I found. She looked like she could have been a smashing beaut as a young woman (she was apparently born in 1948; I was born in 1949).
I suppose the movie was over around 8:15 p.m., but that's a fairly wild guess. My brother had not yet returned.
Anyway, I next had my supper; and I even brushed my teeth (that can take 15 minutes).
With my brother still not back, it may have been as much as 9:50 p.m. that I tuned in Blood Ties ─ episode 11 ("Post Partum") of the first season.
Rather than have further beer, I broached the 750ml bottle of Captain Morgan Spiced Rum (35% alcohol) my brother gave me yesterday. To my utter consternation, though, I inadvertently jostled the chair I had the first shot glass sitting on, and some of the contents spilled out onto the hard plastic seat.
Nonetheless, I orally siphoned up the bulk of the fluid before wiping dry the coat of moisture that remained on the seat.
I hate this.
The Blood Ties series is available on YouTube, but I'm not fussy about its clarity as a source. I was far happier watching the episode at this CineGo.tv link.
The episode likely ended around 10:40 p.m. or so, by which time I saw that my brother was home and watching T.V. downstairs with Bev.
Overall, I had poured two shots of the rum; and really, I suppose that I did not have too much at all go to waste. But of course, it is the principle of the matter. The stuff is costly.
As for the show itself, I quite got wrapped up in it. It was especially good to enjoy a larger than usual role given to absolutely Goth-beautiful Gina Holden.
As for tomorrow morning, I have been worrying the idea of maybe visiting a store a nigh mile distant that opens at 7 a.m. However, it is going to be well after 11 p.m. ere I am to bed, and ideally I would like to be up by 5 a.m. to acclimatize for any such venture.
Thus, it is most unlikely. Still, we shall have to see how my night's sleep fares.
Enough blogging for today. It is 11:12 p.m.
