Work

I held true to my 3 a.m. cellphone alarm setting last night, although it was close to 4 a.m. before I was finally on my way to visit my financial institution's ATM maybe a mile away so that I could finally deposit the monthly expenses reconciliation cheque my younger brother had written out to me at month's start.

Earlier rain had everything wet, but there were some clear breaks in the night sky; and it was remarkably mild out.

My hobble to the ATM and the deposit there were pretty much event free. I had bypassed the elementary school instead of shortcutting through its backfield, for I found early Friday that the backfield had been fenced off without any opening at the key exit / entrance to the backfield. For a few weeks, the temporary fencing segment there had been swung open to allow people a passage.

On my return, I checked to see if that passage was still locked tight, and it was, so I had done the proper thing in not gambling that it might have been left open again.

Seriously, if I had bolt cutters or powerful wire cutters, I could conceive of making an opening. Besides, it is likely a Super Save fence, and many people despise that company for allowing their fences to be used at Universal Ostrich Farms by the invading and occupying CFIA and RCMP.

Anyway, I did stop at the school as I was returning home so that I could have some exercise. The performance was nothing remarkable in terms of the half dozen sets of pull-ups and chin-ups that were separated by a 30-count break or rest. I opened with a mere three pull-ups, and only managed two in each of the other sets: so two sets of pull-ups, then two sets of chin-ups, and finishing with two sets of pull-ups between a pair of half-rings.

Naturally I needed to wipe a monkey bar dry for use. I used it after a final 30-count break to perform a dead hang for a 60-count.

Then it was over to a nearby metal ramp for 10 slow full-range decline push-ups.

After that, the slow hobble home. I fear my bad right knee will never recover and allow me to have long walks any longer ─ I am invalid. I would need facilities for rehabilitation that I just do not have access to.

Anyway, I remembered to weigh myself once home after I had taken off my jacket (just as I had exercised) and I was around 183 pounds. Clearly, I am massively weaker than I was as a younger man.

I was back to bed comfortably before 6 a.m., but it took some effort to remain abed until after 8 a.m. ─ I sleep so damned poorly. I had much trouble sleeping up until 3 a.m. earlier ─ it's abominable!

After rising from my morning return to bed, my younger brother was downstairs watching T.V. And as I passed some further time here at my bedside computer, I heard him speaking with my youngest stepson who was off to attend a day of work at the office instead of working here at home. His office days are generally on a Tuesday, but tomorrow is Remembrance Day and thus it is a statutory holiday.

I joined my brother a little earlier than usual ─ 8:50 a.m. at latest. And so it was that at 9 a.m. he turned the T.V. over to me so I could operate our Android TV Box.

First was a wonderful 16-minute (16:13) video uploaded yesterday to YouTube's AnitaK channel: It was a massacre. The gut wrenching animal mass murder in BC.

The CFIA ordered the slaughter of over 300 ostriches in Edgewood, BC — even though the birds had already developed herd immunity to avian flu. This senseless, horrifying cull left a trail of devastation: headless birds, bulldozed into containers, and driven to Greater Vancouver to be dumped or incinerated. Why was this allowed to happen? Who gave the order — and why is no one taking responsibility?

It’s time Canadians ask tough questions about government overreach, transparency, and what’s really going on behind “public health” decisions.

Then I tuned in a 24-minute (24:45) video uploaded November 7 to YouTube's Juno News channel: The Untold Stories Behind Canada’s Freedom Convoy.

They were hailed as heroes during lockdowns then vilified as extremists.

But behind the headlines and political smears were real people, with real lives upended.

In this episode, journalist Donna Laframboise joins the show to share what the media buried: the untold, human stories of the 2022 Freedom Convoy.

I followed that with a 17-minute (17:36) video published earlier today to Rumble's ProgressiveTruthSeekers channel: Jared Kushner’s Gaza 'Rebuild' Plan Exposed - For PROFIT.

The video description is lengthier than I care to reproduce, so access the link for direct details. Suffice to say that the video's source was "The Young Turks".

This was followed by Winners & Losers ─ episode 19 ("We Are Family") of the first season.

I must explain here that I had tuned in a misfiled episode ─ it was supposed to be episode two, for we had only previously watched the premiere episode of the series. Consequently nothing in the episode synced with the first episode, but I didn't want to voice this to my brother who seemed completely disinterested in the show.

And no wonder! Episode 19 bore scant resemblance to anything that went on in episode one. I even wondered if maybe there were two series with the same title, and this was why this episode made such little sense.

Well, at some point I will have to come clean and confess this error to him.

We finished up with some more of the movie we began yesterday morning; but yet again, it needed to be suspended so my brother could return to his bedroom for further bed rest. Apparently there are around 16 minutes remaining to it.

He and Bev were to go grocery shopping together in the early afternoon, so I prevailed upon him to purchase me a litre of whipping cream. I exhausted what I had yesterday morning and have twice had to avail myself of his weak 10% butter fat cream.

My wife had a full workday today, incidentally; so she emerged from her bedroom this morning soon past 9:30 a.m. to shower and such, and was away on her fairly long drive soon past 10 a.m.

The day has sometimes been very sunny. It was a bath day, so very late in the afternoon I broke from this post to do that. But as generally, this meant no light exercising in my wife's vacant bedroom.

My brother was to remain home following his outing with Bev to shop, so he is doing all his drinking with her.

Just after I had gone to bed for my early afternoon nap, I heard him answer the doorbell, and apparently some guy convinced him to contract this chap to do some sort of power-washing of moss and such from the roof. I'm unsure if this also includes the walls of the house.

At any rate, the guy was supposed to return to do the job in the afternoon, but he never returned. My brother just informed me that the guy phoned to report that he would be here tomorrow morning.

My brother thinks this visit may be around 9 a.m., which is not sitting too well with him because he wants to attend the Remembrance Day ceremonies over in Whalleythe Legion is one of his main drinking haunts.

So I guess we'll see how that all develops.

Time to break now for a couple of shows here on my bedside computer, as well as a couple 12-ounce cans of Cariboo Malts (7.9 % alcohol).

I will finish up this post in the latter evening ─ right now it is 7:06 p.m.

🟢🟢🟢

I have been writing the above most recent paragraphs in disjointed fashion as I seek to keep adding in recollections that ought to have been given more measured earlier presentation.

Continuing with my evening's narrative, my first show was Krypton ─ episode six ("In Zod We Trust") of season two. It certainly was not stellar. I am looking forward to the series conclusion.

If interested, my source was this uFLIX.to link. It allowed me the ingestion of a first can of beer this evening.

My second show justifying a second can of beer was A Gifted Man ─ episode four ("In Case of Separation Anxiety") of the first and only season.

I'm truly enjoying this show.

My source was this CineGo.tv link, but I needed to use all three source links there to get through the episode due to standstill buffering.

Despite knowing it was possibly a bad choice, I decided on the last shot of my Captain Morgan Spice Rum (35% alcohol) while watching Kevin from Work ─ episode four ("All About Work from Work") of the only season.

That show can be hilarious sometimes. And supporting actress Paige Spara seems to me to have magnificently muscled calves ─ we just only ever get glimpses of them, alas. Teasers.

My source was this OK.ru link ─ not the best, be it sufficed.

I plan on rising at 6:30 a.m. tomorrow, even though I have no plans on going anywhere. I just want to try and be up early enough to normalize for some exercising out in the backyard tool shed before my brother emerges from his bedroom for the morning ─ that will scotch my exercising.

Anyway, while brushing my teeth in preparation to shutting down and getting to bed, my wife got home from work. However, we have neither communicated nor even seen one another.

So much for marriage and life together.

Enough for this post ─ it is 11:02 p.m., and time to start working my way towards bed.

As many of you know, our family experienced two very significant losses this year. Our dad, Randy, passed away on October 14th, 2025, and our mom, Sandy, passed away six days later, on October 20th, 2025.

Navigating the loss of both our parents so close together has been incredibly difficult. With the challenges of weather, finding an appropriate space, and the complexities of our family situations, it has taken time to determine how and when to bring everyone together. Our family is grieving, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to process this.

In accordance with both of their wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. We ask that you honour and respect this, as we are doing.

We are planning to hold a gathering this summer where both sides of the family, along with close friends, can come together to share memories, support one another, and simply be together. We will share the details once plans are confirmed.

We understand that everyone grieves in their own way, and we recognize the impact they both had on the lives of many. We are deeply grateful for your love, your memories, and your support during this time.

This gathering will not be a formal celebration of life, but a time to come together in the way our parents valued most-family and friends together, side by side.

If you have any questions, please re-read this post.
