As dictated by my 5 a.m. cellphone alarm, I rose for the morning, hoping that I would somehow manage the mile or so hike to the nearest Save-On-Foods ─ it would be my first visit in over a year, I believe, back when my right knee was not damaged.
Most of their grocery prices tend to be higher than the No Frills store that I normally grocery shop at that is a half mile from here, but the latter has no pharmacy and I wanted to stock up on nutritional supplements and whatever else that Save-On-Foods stocked. There is a pharmacy over by No Frills, but I am too reluctant to shop for my needs at one store and then enter the other with my purchases.
Save-On-Foods has generally higher prices than Shoppers Drug Mart as well, I believe; but it is the only store that can serve both needs.
Well, before I knew it, the time was around 6:30 a.m. and I had not even begun to ready for the trip ─ Save-On-Foods opens at 7 a.m. Almost in a panic, I started getting myself together for the hobble. But it was still less than 10 minutes to 7 a.m. when I left ─ most dispiriting.
At least it was still only beginning to get light outside. Nor had the promised heavy rains yet arrived (I later learned that they had been delayed by about a day).
Yet before I had even reached the first intersection after leaving home, my confidence flagged. I stopped my progress; then in resigned defeat, I turned about and slowly started walking back for home.
Thankfully, some unusual resolve reasserted, convincing me that I needed both of those needs described earlier, and waiting an hour before going to one of the nearer two stores when they opened at 8 a.m. was not going to be any answer. Heck, in an hour's time when it was so much lighter outside ─ despite overcast sky ─ I might by then fail to even have it in me to leave home.
Earlier I had considered transferring $100 into the account that my debit card accesses just in case the $135 I had in my wallet were insufficient, for nutritional supplements can be pricey ─ particularly B100 complexes.
I should have heeded that notion. I withheld adding several items to my basket as the quantity in it increased, for it was impossible to make a sensible estimate.
Ultimately my full bill was to come to $108.84 ─ better to under-guess that humiliate myself by having to decline anything in my basket due to want of funds.
But I left out things I had intended to get.
Despite my slow pace and the time spent shopping, it was barely past 8 a.m. when I was back. Had I shopped locally, I would not yet have even likely been in one of the stores; yet now my errand was finished and I was home to remain.
That hour is worth any extra costs, methinks ─ I hate being out there walking when people are abroad, and after 8 a.m. populations just escalate as more and more people get into their Sunday.
Nobody here was yet up when I got home, although my youngest stepson had not gone to bed until something like 6 a.m. It was around 8:30 a.m. when my younger brother emerged from his bedroom to watch T.V. news and drink instant coffee.
I joined him just past 9 a.m., and quite quickly got his invitation to commence operation of our T95Q Android 9 TV Box. Only too late had I remembered that I meant to download an episode of one of the T.V. series for us to watch via a USB stick if the four streaming apps left in our TV Box failed to provide a working source.
It was to develop that the episode had no working links. I did later download it, though, so probably we will watch it tomorrow.
As for what we watched, I led us off with an 11-minute (11:12) video uploaded yesterday to YouTube's AnitaK channel: Finance Guy Schools This Couple on Islam - Caleb drops the Hammer!
Then came a 40-minute (40:03) video published earlier today to Rumble's USAFrontlineDoctors channel: Jesse Watters: Trump Just Obliterated Targets On Iran's Cash Register-March 13, 2026.
Posted • March 13, 2026: Fox News host Jesse Watters discusses U.S. strikes on Iran’s crown jewel Kharg Island as President Donald Trump continues military action in the Middle East… U.S. could seize Kharg Island, ‘would not be that hard’: Former U.S. Army Special Forces. Former U.S. Army Special Forces Jim Hanson discusses the U.S. strike on Iran’s Kharg Island and the Pentagon sending the USS Tripoli to the Middle East… and, Critical video still missing in Nancy Guthrie case. Former FBI assistant director Chris Swecker analyzes where the investigation into Nancy Guthrie's disappearance stands after new images were recovered by the FBI on 'Jesse Watters Primetime.'
The next video we watched was an African wildlife sort, featuring fails by the big cats in hunting, but I cannot locate it now, so I reckon that's that! I also tuned in a previously downloaded video from October 14 that has now become a "members only" at its channel source, so I am not even going to identify the darned thing nor the channel.
We finally got well into a movie, but I had to suspend it so my brother could return to his bedroom for further bed rest.
My nap was not long ─ maybe I was down an hour or somewhat more. By then my wife was already downstairs in the kitchen ─ she only had to work the latter part of today at the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time. She was to leave here well before 3 p.m., which is early for her on such days.
This afforded me her bedroom for some light exercising around 3:30 p.m.
The day remained overcast, but just ahead of 5:30 p.m. I became aware that it was raining outside ─ not hard, though. The promised heavy stuff must be taking its time arriving.
Right now it is 5:56 p.m. and I am hungry for my day's second and very small meal. I shall enjoy that, and then watch some T.V. shows here on my bedside computer while enjoying some drinks.
I'll finish up this post later in the evening.

My first show and a can of Cariboo Malt (7.9% alcohol) ended by 7:21 p.m. The show was Betrayal ─ episode six ("...The Things That Drive Men Crazy") of the only season. My source was this TVSeries.video link.
So many close calls in this one, only to finish up with a cliffhanger that seems to reveal that the suspected adultery has been undeniably confirmed to the undeserving cuckolded husband, and the male adulterer realizes it.
My brother got home just ahead of 7:35 p.m. from his daily social drinking.
My second show and beer were done by 8:44 p.m. The show was Smash ─ episode four ("The Cost of Art") of the first season. My source was this Fmovies.co link.
I love watching this series ─ so many gorgeously-built, athletic women; and top drawer talent at singing and dancing! Fabulous stuff!
During my break before my second show, I heard my youngest stepson bidding farewell to my brother and Bev, declaring that he would be back next Friday ─ if I heard him correctly, that is. What the heck's this? Why do I never know aught?
My final show this evening was enjoyed along with maybe 11 ounces of Sommet Rouge wine (12% alcohol), and both were done by 9:44 p.m. The show was Profiler ─ episode three ("Unholy Alliance") of the first season. My source was this 1Moviesz.to link.
I enjoyed the oddball episode, but why are the videos from so relatively recently of such poor quality? We have movies from 40 or 50 or more years before even then that are sharper.
I could squeeze in a sitcom, but I would need to pour myself a fourth drink of some sort ─ I cannot recall when I last did that. Perhaps I will withhold publishing this post and first brush my teeth ─ a 15-minute job sometimes. By then I will have resolved on what to do ─ publish this post and get to bed; or watch something and drink further?

I decided to draw the line ─ no more this evening.
Right now it is 11 p.m., so I am going to soon start shutting down and get to bed. Maybe I'll manage to do so before my wife gets home.
