I rose around 3:30 a.m. to put work into the post I have on the go at one of my six hosted websites; and when I accomplished the quota of content that was intended, I found myself reluctant to return to bed. I had to force myself to do so ─ by then, it was nearing 6:40 a.m.
The sleep that I derived thereafter was little different than my nighttime experience, and I remained awake from perhaps 8:00 a.m., just laying in bed and feeling too lazy to do aught else. I think I finally got myself up around 8:45 a.m.
My younger brother was already downstairs watching T.V., but I remained upstairs here at my computer until the approach of 10:00 a.m. when I finally went downstairs to prepare my day's first hot caffeinated beverage, and then I joined my brother at the T.V. and put our T9 Android 8.1 TV Box into operation to fetch an episode each of three of the T.V. series we follow.
The third episode that we watched was an extended one ─ the second season finale of Doctor Who featuring the Thirteenth Doctor as portrayed by actress Jodie Whittaker.
My brother and I were never fans of the series ─ I am not even sure that I have ever bothered to watch an entire episode until Jodie was cast in the role. I always thought that the special effects and costumery were profoundly amateurish.
The series is still lots of loud noise and mostly incomprehensibly distorted English by various and sundry aliens, but my brother and I gave it a try and are stubbornly sticking with it. Besides, we saw Jodie Whitaker as a guest a time or two on The Graham Norton Show, and she was a hoot ─ the girl loves to laugh, and is far more fetching than she is in the T.V. series she leads.
The episode probably finished right around 1:00 p.m., and so my brother decided to head on up to his bedroom to rest up. He was going to bus off in the afternoon to do some drinking at the home of one of his drinking buddies.
The day has probably been cloud-free, but my bondage to T.V. resulted in me becoming very hungry. By the time I had a filling first meal of the day, I had pretty much incapacitated myself. So instead of seeking some Sun in the backyard, I opted for a nap.
I don't think I was down too much over an hour, nor did I nap all that much. When I emerged from my bedroom, I could hear my brother yakking on his cellphone to one of his drinking buddies; as yet, my brother had apparently not left his bedroom.
It was already after 3:00 p.m., so I decided to try and give some sunning a shot. I donned cutoffs and a tank top, and went out into the backyard.
Alas, though the day may have been brilliant and clear of cloud, there was a steady breeze of an uncomfortable chill. I was already disheartened by the lateness of the afternoon, and this discovery sealed the deal ─ I returned into the house defeated.
I am so fed up with being in financial bondage to this over-mortgaged house and all of my other debts ─ financial and otherwise. I long to go on extended daytime walks, but there is nothing around me but overpopulation and overdevelopment for miles on end.
And of course, miles and miles of traffic-heavy streets.
There is no peace; there is no privacy. There is only stress out there.
And so I remain under self-imposed house-arrest within my own home. I have lived in self-isolation for years and years.
My health suffers, as does my self-esteem; and hope becomes ever dimmer that I shall see the vital miracle that can deliver me from this plight.
What I am looking forward to today is an early bedtime, for I do not believe that my brother will be busing back home in time to arrive here until sometime after mid-evening. And that being the case, I will ensure that I am to bed before he shows up.
I have the consolation that tomorrow is also supposed to be sunny, so I will do my best to get myself outside early in the afternoon for some needed sunning.
