A Skunk in the Early A.M.

I squandered my afternoon following a nap by dancing on the abyss rim. I've lasted a number of weeks, I think ─ longer than I have in months. But I'll need encouragement from above if I am to endure.

I cannot spend much time with this post. My younger brother bused off to a distant pub this afternoon that does not follow the unlawful mandate from Unhealth Minister 'Bon-Bon' to demand proof of 'vaccination' from customers, so he ought not to be home this side of 9 p.m. for a change.

I wish there was such a pub nearby us so that he could just go there to do his daily drinking, for of late he has been beyond annoying by returning home far too damned early each evening ─ I have no time to enjoy any T.V. and a beer.

Yesterday was the third consecutive evening in which the besotted persona showed up just as I was about to catch a show and have a beer ─ and at most it was only 7:10 p.m. Prior to these damned 'vaccine' passports, his arrival home at 8:10 p.m. would have been considered unduly early.

So in line with keeping this brief, I do want to report that while I was up overnight following my latter evening nap ─ and I actually sought my bed at 7:30 p.m. due to my desire to avoid my brother's drunken persona ─ I actually got in a walk.

My wife had withdrawn $900 from our chequing account earlier that day, forgetting that today is when our monthly mortgage is scheduled to be debited. Without the $900, we would have been several hundred dollars short.

She had meant to transfer the funds back after she was home, but she was not going to be coming home early following her full day working at the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time.

As it turned out, she never got home overnight until well past 4 a.m.

Fortunately, she did have the required funds stashed away here at home and revealed the hiding place in a phone call late last afternoon. And so around 2 a.m. this morning, I headed away on the nigh two-mile round trip hike to the Coast Capital Savings headquarters building (Google Map) where I made the cash deposit in their outdoor ATM.

Even with a short holdup at an elementary school where I wished to do two sets of pull-ups on the gymnastics-style rings that are in the playground there, I was back home in under an hour, and thus I was able to adhere to the six hourly doses of three drops of Miracle Mineral Solution.

I am into my second week of a three-week daily treatment of this substance.

Incidentally, it was not the pull-ups at the school that held me up; rather, it was that I had to stand around wasting time because I could not access them ─ there was a skunk in my path, and it just would not move on.

I finally thought to illuminate it with the stun gun / flashlight that I had brought along, and that seemed to make it uncomfortable enough that it did finally depart from its position impeding my progress.

After my wife was home and had gone to bed, I doubt that she had yet managed any sleep before i returned to bed just ahead of 5 a.m.

My morning was to begin just ahead of 9 a.m.

At 10 a.m. I did join my brother to watch some T.V., putting our Android TV Box to use. The only show that I will mention is One of Us ─ we watched the fourth and final episode of this excellent short U.K. production.

You can read the plot for yourself. All I will say is that my brother and I did not guess the identity of the person who killed the injured murderer of the young couple ─ both events took place early into the first episode.

At the final episode's conclusion, I think that we were both happy with the fate of the female case detective who had gotten involved in the sale of some drugs with a drug pusher just so that she could help pay for her daughter's cancer treatments.

All else that I will report on is that obviously my wife never had to work a full day today. She never rose until early in the afternoon while my brother was having his rest before he left to catch his bus.

However, she rose and showered, and actually left before he emerged from his bedroom.

She had gotten nicely 'dressed up', so I don't know if she was going to work a part day (her usual afternoon starts are at 4 p.m.), or if she had some other function. I did not ask, and she did not offer to tell.

The day has been a mix of Sun and cloud. I want to note that when I was out on that early a.m. walk, it was actually very mild out there ─ not at all unpleasant. Street people or the homeless would have been quite comfortable. I could have been wearing a tee-shirt, in fact.

That's it ─ I must get to that T.V. show I want to see, and the beer I never had yesterday evening.
