As a result of my younger brother failing to arrive home last evening by 9:30 p.m., I was to bed by maybe 10 p.m., if not earlier. I don't know his state of sobriety, but I suppose that it does not matter. There is no sense in it for me to be starting an evening of television viewing with him after that late in the day when he could perfectly well halt his 'socializing' earlier and show up here at a more reasonable point in time.
It is unfortunate, for I had nothing planned for this morning and was rather looking forward to enjoying some latter evening T.V. along with a couple cans of beer.
I was up this morning ahead of 7 a.m., and one of the articles I got around to checking out was based upon an interview Dr. Mercola made of Francisco Gonzalez-Lima, Ph.D., who was credited as being an expert in a chemical I had never heard of that is known as methylene blue ─ it was discovered in 1876 and has some amazing medical properties.
Apparently it is a "parent molecule" or parent structure from which hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine are derived, so that thought opened up my imagination.
The article will be gone from Dr. Mercola's website before Wednesday, but "The Surprising Health Benefits of Methylene Blue" is reproduced elsewhere ─ two examples are VerveTimes.com and CurrentTime.new.
I attempted to watch the nearly 1¾-hour video interview (The Surprising Health Benefits of Methylene Blue- Interview with Francisco Gonzalez-Lima, Ph.D.) later this morning with my brother, but he soon enough erupted into a fit of petulance because Dr. Mercola and Francisco Gonzalez-Lima employed terminology levels above my brother's head ─ he removed himself in a huff and went off to the dining table to pretend to read.
This is how he gets his way when he feels powerless about what is being watched.
Granted, I could not fathom much of what was being discussed either, but it was not valueless.
Nevertheless, perhaps it is best that I did not sit through the full video, for I was later to research if it was possible for me to begin taking methylene blue as a health supplement.
At my monthly pension income level, it is NOT possible. Dr. Mercola recommended (for non-acute purposes) taking anywhere from a half to a full millgramme per day of methylene blue for every kilogramme of one's body weight. I discovered during the latter morning that while entirely naked and before having eaten a thing today, I weighed 190 pounds, or just over 86 kilogrammes.
But let's say that I decided to attempt a regimen of 50 milligrammes per day. A check of Canada's Amazon for pharmaceutical grade methylene blue found a seller of USP grade methylene blue powder retailing one gramme of the stuff for $38, or five grammes for $90. (See my similar search at Amazon U.S.A. below this post.)
It would be shipped by Amazon for free.
If I dispensed a gramme of methylene blue correctly, it would equate to 1,000 milligrammes. Even at 50 milligrammes per day, that would only last me for 20 days. I can't afford to be blowing $38 every 20 days for methylene blue.
Of course, five grammes at $90 would last 100 days if correctly dispensed. I suppose that it is just about doable, but not at the present. There are just too many expenses on the immediate horizon ─ the earliest I might be able to spend that much would be late July.
Anyway, I copied out and saved the Dr. Mercola article, so we'll see how life is treating me by late July, and if methylene blue will still be available at that price.
An earlier video that my brother did watch and enjoy with me was a 54-minute interview performed by a woman who only wants to be known as "Mel K" ─ the subject of her interview was ... well, the video title explains: Mel K & Hero Whistleblower Veteran & Author Nurse Erin On The Hospital Killing Fields 4-13-22.
I very well remember watching Nurse Erin's viral video about New York's Elmhurst Hospital shortly after the video was loosed upon the world. The beautiful young woman in the baseball cap was so memorable. I am quite sure that it was sometime in November 2020 when I watched that video.
It was good learning what she is presently involved with. She's a darned good woman as far as I am concerned.
Incidentally, her website is NurseErin.org.
But enough of T.V.
The day has been wet, although I don't think the rain has ever been very
hard. I hope that it is no worse when I try to get out for an early
five-mile walk in the wee a.m. tomorrow. And since that is my intention,
I will not much mind if my younger brother exceeds 9:30 p.m. tonight in
arriving home, for ─ as usual ─ he headed away fairly early in the
afternoon to resume his daily 'socializing'.
I have a little exercising that I wish to engage, and I also want to wash and chop up a small organic head of purple cabbage and five or so organic beetroots for natural fermenting ─ the fermentation process can take up to five days. I cover the vegetables in water in a small bucket, and liberally cover the topmost vegetables with Himalayan salt.
That's it! The fermentation occurs naturally ─ no starter required.
My afternoon is over, and my evening already here, so I had best call it quits on this post right now.
