Inappropriate Messaging

As a result of my younger brother arriving home last evening at approximately 9:10 p.m. ─ and in a reasonable level of intoxication ─ I sat up watching T.V. with him via our Android TV Box until maybe 1 a.m. In that time I enjoyed two cans of strong (8% alcohol) malt while we enjoyed an episode each of four of the T.V. series we follow (viz., Chicago PD; Endeavour; United States of Tara; and The Last O.G.).

Actually, I did not "enjoy" the first can of malt. There was something amiss with it. There was some damage at one area of the can's rim, and the malt had a very 'off' taste. As well, the carbonation was reduced to the point where there was no 'burn' in the throat with successive swallows.

But the product is not inexpensive, and I was reluctant to discard the brew, so I was steadfast at slowly consuming the can's contents over the space of perhaps 1½ hours with the intention of giving some time for any adverse reaction to present if there was anything harmful with it.

Here I am with no noticeable followup issues, so it must have been innocuous. And as long as I did derive the full advertised 8% alcohol, then the somewhat foul taste was worthwhile.

By the way, this is the Easter long weekend. Apparently this year it somewhat coincides with the commencement of Passover.

I never heard my wife arrive home last night following her fifth consecutive full workday at the Thai restaurant that employs her. Clearly, she was very late, for she never emerged from 'her" bedroom until something like 3:48 p.m. this afternoon. (We have separate adjacent bedrooms as of early last November, so we are little privy to one another's goings on.)

The night was a very cool one. The day has been largely overcast, but there have been periods of blue, sunny skies.

I started my morning a little after 7 a.m., although I lay abed some while ere forcing myself up. I remained here and got some work done at my computer (which is next to my bed) before I finally went downstairs to join my brother around 9:20 a.m. after he had risen and finished with the Saturday morning edition of the Vancouver Sun that I subscribe to.

I soon had our Android TV Box in operation once more, and one of the videos we were to watch was Megyn Kelly's April 11 upload to Rumble: Inappropriate Messaging to Our Kids & Being Skeptical of Power, w Jeremy Boreing & Bryan Dean Wright.

The video was almost an hour and 35 minutes long, and if not for how much I absolutely love hearing Megyn's incredibly melodious voice, it might have seemed overlong. That woman absolutely smites me!

We were also to watch a 21-minute video uploaded to Rumble on March 31: Doc Tracy, PI - S1 E1: Lawson’s Hunt. I wasn't too impressed with it, but I did appreciate the deserved harsh spotlight cast upon Kristina Lawson, reportedly a lawyer who was unfathomably made the head of California's Medical Board.

What a preposterous promotion! And the woman is clearly arrogant as abundantly shown when she not only refused an interview, but threatened to be phoning the police on the attempted interviewer.

Who the hell does she think she is that she does not have to interact with someone with medical credentials from the public? She is NOT royalty whose privacy is understandably guarded.

I detest people like this who are given unwarranted positions in a field they are abysmally ignorant of.

Anyway, I finished up the morning's viewing with something a little different ─ a 21-minute YouTube video uploaded earlier this year featuring an MMA fighter of yore whom I admire: The Legendary Power of Don Frye.

My brother thereafter rested up for a short time, and then he ventured out into the yard and began putting a weed whacker to use ─ back and front yards. I was soon in bed seeking a needed nap following my day's first meal. He was gone for the afternoon to 'socialize' somewhere when I was done with my naptime.

If he is not back home by 9:30 p.m. this evening, I will be forsaking any latter evening T.V. in favour of getting to bed as soon as I become aware of his return. I want to do some early a.m. grocery shopping tomorrow, arriving at the store on foot reasonably soon after its 7 a.m. opening.

I will still do the shopping if I end up watching T.V. with my brother, but I will not be sitting up until 1 a.m. doing so as was the case last night.

As I mentioned earlier, my wife emerged from 'her' bedroom around 3:48 p.m. However, after she did some cooking, she left us ─ possibly as early as 4:30 p.m. ─ for the remainder of the weekend, saying that she would be back on Monday. (She typically spends most of her weekends somewhere in Vancouver.)

My brother must have earlier enlisted her eldest son to mow the lawns, for he was busy doing so as his mother was leaving. I had gone outside with her to help bear some of her baggage to her car, and to see her off.

She was in a delightfully good and teasing mood, and even offered me a welcome farewell embrace.

And so with that said, I believe that I will bring this post to a close. I want to have a bath, and then watch some T.V. with a little supper as I await the arrival of 9:30 p.m., the deadline that I secretly have in place for my brother.

I wouldn't mind watching some latter evening T.V. with him, while enjoying a couple of strong malts, for even if I was not to bed until midnight, I don't have to be rising tomorrow for that shopping hike until perhaps 5:30 a.m. ─ that would give me time enow for a mug of black instant coffee. Besides, it is rare that I am able to sleep for that length of time.

We shall see. He will still have to be here by 9:30 p.m., and also not be so blitzed as to be intolerable company. I will not waste my time with drunk who starts passing out a few mere minutes into a show. If he appears to be besotted, I simply will not bother with him and go to bed.
