Better Death Than Surrender

Trudeau Must Go!

Following my younger brother's arrival into the latter half of yesterday's evening following his alcoholic socializing, I put our Android TV Box into action and led us off with an episode of Chicago PD ─  episode 13 "Trouble Dolls" of season eight.

I noticed my brother passing out during some of the episode.

Next we watched an episode of American Ninja Warrior ─ this time, Stage 2 of the Las Vegas National Finals of season 14. I was certain that we had previously watched Stage 1, but the various recaps just did not sound familiar. I can only conclude that whatever comprised that previous episode was only a portion of what was actually filmed, and thus performances being cited in the Stage 2 episode were not televised in the Stage 1 episode.

The evening ended with an episode of the American series Ghosts ─ episode five ("Halloween") of the first season.

My wife had been home all day except for an early afternoon grocery shopping excursion, and she finally went to bed just ahead of me (we have separate bedrooms). She was to have to work a full day today at the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time, so to prepare for her long day and the goodly drive, she tends to rise around 9:45 a.m. to shower and whatever else. The restaurant opens at 11 a.m.

I was to gain access to the T.V. ahead of my brother this morning, for he never made an appearance from his bedroom until around 9:10 a.m. At that point, I was watching a YouTube MMA bout between two women unknown to me.

It was a three-round match, so it was not overlong. When it was done, I tuned in one of Dr. Mercola's videos from a half year or so ago that featured him interviewing Tyler LeBaron with the topic being molecular hydrogen, but the video stopped playing at least halfway through.

I finally gave up on it, and tuned in BitChute's Adolph Hitler ─ The Greatest Story Never Told. This was to be our third sitting involving this 6½-hour (6:32:13) documentary, and we still have one further sitting to get through before we are finished watching the feature.

BitChute has been remembering where we have left off with the video, and obligingly starts playing from that point ─ a wonderful feature! However, just past the four-hour-and-13-minute point in the video, it seemed to freeze. This was right into the printed prologue of part (or episode) 18 "Germany Defeated" of the documentary. That printed prologue was talking about the ancient siege of Masada by the Romans in which the Jewish defenders all killed themselves rather than be taken prisoner.

I almost gave up on the video, but fortunately I finally noticed that the progression timer was still running.

I have no idea what documentary material was lost during that gap in the video, but the pause or break was to last for around 11 minutes.

And now I have just taken the initiative to research what might be missing, and I have discovered that copies of the complete video are available at Archive.org ─ here is on example. I have now watched the missing 11 or so minutes.

Brutal.

Anyway, my brother and I do not have too much more of the video to get through, so we will likely finish up with it tomorrow.

My brother sought some bed rest, and I soon enough took to my own bedroom for a nap. It was short, but when I was done, my brother was gone for the day ─ he apparently left afoot and caught a bus to rendezvous with one or more of his drinking buddies at a pub.

This will probably afford me ample time to be set to retire early enough this evening that I will be able to rise at 2 a.m. for one of my 5½-or-so-mile walks.

The afternoon today was a mix of very large cloud masses and sunshine, so I used the cloud as an excuse to not waste my time sitting outside seeking exposure to some daylight. Tomorrow may be purer of sunshine.

My evening is upon me, so I may seek to tune in a movie to watch on T.V. while I yet am home alone without my brother. I just regret that I will be to bed before my wife gets home from her long day.
