πŸ’€☠πŸ’€☠πŸ’€☠ Futilely Fighting Corruption

I'm so damned sick of my weak self.

Last evening I was to change my mind about the walk I was to undergo. I opted to deposit my brother's monthly expenses reconciliation cheque at the ATM about ¾ of a mile from here, and my walk thereafter was the five-mile+ variant.

When I was using a main trail in the Green Timbers Urban Forest, I was to meet some young dude running, and who was well illuminated.

Initially I wondered if he might be at least someone on one of those newly popular scooters; however, he was strictly a runner. I briefly turned on my Titan baton flashlight, for he initially seemed uneasy to run my way in the dark forest, having likely sensed me in the distance.

So he continued, and we exchanged greetings. My concern had been that he was accompanied by an aggressive dog, so likely this might also have been his worry.

My younger brother was not yet home when I got back, so I lined up what we would be watching, and then I tuned in a YouTube video via the SmartTube app that I have downloaded into our Android TV Box.

He was not long in showing up.

Our first show was to be Doc Martin ─ episode three ("Born with a Shotgun") of season or series five. I found myself rather attracted to Martin's new young receptionist as played by actress Jessica Ransom ─ so of course it was Jessica herself that attracted me.

The next show I tuned in was to be our last, for it was likely around 1¾ hours in duration ─ A Touch of Frost. It was episode two ("Close Encounters") of season or series 10. It was great to see actress Caroline Harker back in the series. Ever since a previous episode in which she took down a villain by overpowering him and using a titillating display of her legs, she's been another actress I've been attracted to.

Prior to my earlier evening walk, I had drunk a can of Cariboo Malt (7.9% alcohol). I was to drink three more cans, plus a can each of Cariboo Genuine draft beer (5.5% alcohol) and Bumper Crop Black Cherry cider (7% alcohol), but I shall not blame drunkenness for my utterly shameful folly.

My wife arrived home ahead of 3 a.m. as I recall, but I likely remained up until ... well, maybe at least 4:30 a.m. When I became aware this morning of my brother moving about, I checked the time and saw it to be in the neighbourhood of 8:30 a.m., so I rather reluctantly rose.

When I joined him after 9 a.m., I had a few videos in mind, beginning with a 35-minute (38:35) video streamed yesterday at Rumble's Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson channel: Fighting the Corrupt Canadian Medical System with Dr. Mark Trozzi.

LDr. Mark Trozzi is known for his expertise in emergency medicine and his commitment to medical ethics. He has been a vocal critic of COVID-19 policies, particularly regarding vaccinations, treatments, and public health measures. His stance led him to advocate for alternative treatments and to question the mainstream approaches to handling the pandemic, which put him at odds with the CPSO.

My brother noticed soon enough that the show was considerably shorter than usual, which it was.

Next were two short videos published at Rumble, but I am not inclined to give them recognition, so I shall not cite them.

I am somewhat intoxicated, too.

All else I can recall watching was an excellent nearly 2½-hour (2:24:16) video published July 11, 2019, at BitChute's Adaneth channel: Ancient World | The Spartans (Episode 1).

Episode 1: Bettany Hughes chronicles the rise and fall of one of the most extreme civilisations the world has ever seen, one founded on discipline, sacrifice and frugality where the onus was on the collective and the goal was to create the perfect state and the perfect warrior. Hughes reveals the secrets and complexities of everyday Spartan life; homosexuality was compulsory, money was outlawed, equality was enforced, weak boys were put to death and women enjoyed a level of social and sexual freedom that was unheard of in the ancient world. It was a nation of fearsome fighters where a glorious death was treasured.

This is aptly demonstrated by the kamikaze last stand at Thermopylae, where King Leonidas and his warriors fought with swords, hands and teeth to fend off the Persians. But there was bitter rivalry between Sparta and Athens, two cities with totally opposed views of the 'good life'. When war finally came, it raged for decades and split the Greek world until, in a brutal and bloody climax, Sparta finally emerged victorious as the most powerful city-state in Greece. But under King Agesilaus, the dreams of the Spartan utopia come crashing down. By setting out to create a perfect society protected by perfect warriors, Sparta made an enemy of change. A collapsing birth rate, too few warriors, rebellious slaves and outdated attitudes to weaponry and warfare combined to sow the seeds of Sparta's destruction, until eventually the once great warrior state was reduced to being a destination for Roman tourists who came to view bizarre sado-masochistic rituals.

And here I go again ─ Bethany Hughes looked pretty damned hot to me! Wow!

I'm bombed, but there seems like there must be something else that we watched.

Anyway, my wife never had to work until the latter afternoon, so I was to bed for my early afternoon nap before she rose.

Hey! ─ I have to quit today's post.

In a vain attempt into the early latter afternoon to watch a Christmas video before the onset of my Sabbath fast, I tuned in 2017's Four Christmases and a Wedding. If you have a very good browser ad blocker, I used this M4uHD.net link.

Even so, the movie seemed to have several episodes where it briefly froze and then jumped a little ahead when it resumed, so portions were likely lost ─ whether important or not.

Lead actress Arielle Kebbel was quickly recognizable, but I cannot say why. I suspect that it was likely some other Christmas movie.

But she was so beautiful, I don't understand why I have not previously mentioned watching her in anything! Her exceptionally expressive features, as well as her various non-verbal utterances, were outstandingly natural and believable.

I loved watching this girl! So why have I not before mentioned her?

I have no idea.

Yet just now in researching her acting credits, I can identify that I likely know her in a lead role in the T.V. series Texas, Midnight. Her character was a deadly martial artist / assassin.

She was so desirably sweet in this Christmas movie, though! I loved it!

I never came anywhere near having some last supper during it, and then last drinks before the onset of my Sabbath fast. It gets dark so wonderfully early!

I will make up for the failure tomorrow after dark.

I put away a lot of drink during the under-1½-hour movie: two cans of Cariboo Malt, maybe two of Cariboo Genuine, one of Bumper Crop Black Cherry cider, and a stiff shot of Captain Morgan dark rum.

I wanted more, but I hope to rise at 1:30 a.m. to begin readying for a five-mile walk. It had begun raining since maybe 8 p.m. Right now, it is past when I should be in bed, ─ it is 10:02 p.m. ─ so I am writing no further. But my alarm will be set for 2 a.m. ─ not 1:30 a.m.

I want to speak more of the movie, but I must get to bed. I may be averting a bit of a stress headache.

And my wife has come home (as did my brother earlier) ─ I am behind my closed bedroom door and about to ready for bed.
