Inside Scoop

I had my estimated 5.972-mile round trip hike last evening to do some shopping at Fleetwood's Save-On-Foods. The rain was tolerable enough getting there, but betimes it was more serious on the hike back home, getting me fairly wet.

I'm going through money too fast. It sure didn't help that there was a young chap seated on the cement ground just outside the store, sheepishly seeking handouts. He spoke so quietly that the only word I heard and understood was "change", so I reckoned the gist of what he had said.

I decided to say something like, "Having a tough time, eh?" And I pulled out my wallet to proffer him $5.

At that he came quickly to his feet and was nearly effusively grateful.

So when I finished my shopping and came outside again, he was anew seated on the cement with his back against the wall, and again thanked me when he recognized me.

So on a whim I said, "How about giving me back the five, and I'll give you a 10?" This again quickly brought him to his feet and he eagerly made the exchange.

We talked a little, and he offered that he had recently spent some time in jail, during which his girlfriend got rid of his belongings, leaving him nothing.

Then he qualified that by saying that he was actually staying with her again, the pair having somewhat made up, and he was better coping.

I didn't want to get too involved, so we didn't talk too much longer; but then just before I left him, I made another offer: "I'll go one better. Give me back the 10 and I'll give you a 20."

This truly lit the young guy up.

So I left him feeling reasonably good for what I had done, but I can't afford stunts like that. Sunday morning I had $240 in my wallet; but now, having only done two grocery shopping expenditures to buy enough that I could comfortably tote nearly three miles back to home, I now have but $135 in my wallet.

Anyway, I got back home last evening to find my younger brother watching T.V.

Soon enough I joined him and quickly got his invitation to put our Android TV Box to work. But before I had earlier left home, I had already located a source for the show I had lined up for us from the old Edgar Wallace Mysteries ─ the final short movie episode, October 1965's Dead Man's Chest.

I was tickled that the lead character role went to a young John Thaw, who would later become the original Inspector Morse.

My source for the short movie was this link at OK.ru.

Then it was The Avengers ─ season or series two's episode 20 ("School for Traitors"). This, too, was watched at OK.ru, but at this link.

We finished up with The Conners ─ episode six ("Book Bans and Guillotine Hands") of season five.

The can each of Cariboo Malt (7.9% alcohol) and Cariboo Genuine draft beer (5.5% alcohol) that I had consumed before my outing were to be supplemented with three further cans of Cariboo Malt and one of Bumper Crop Black Cherry cider (7% alcohol).

I was not too badly affected overnight, but I seem to remember that it may have been around 3:30 a.m. at minimum when I got to bed.

Nevertheless, it also seems to me that by 8:15 a.m. sleep was no longer cooperative, so I rose for the morning. My brother had not yet emerged from his bedroom by 9 a.m., so I took possession of the T.V.

When he soon enough joined me, I was all set to use our Android TV Box to play a 19-minute video published two days ago to Rumble's AKStraightSpeaks channel: Inside Scoop from a BC Elections Scrutineer.

She'd like to stay anonymous but she helped with the BC Elections recount and gives her take on vote tabulators, recounts, mail-in, phone voting, advance voting on the BC Election of 2024.

And that was to be my brother's sole video, for he needed to begin readying for his departure for a bus to allow him to attend the Remembrance Day ceremonies at the Whalley Legion. He has become a frequent drinker there, so he has some sense of community, whereas I have never even walked into the new building housing that branch now.

He bused because he expected to be drinking once the ceremonies all ended. It was maybe 10 a.m. when he left here. There was to be a parade at 10:15 a.m. that he wasn't likely to catch much of, and services were scheduled for 10:45 a.m., after which the branch would open for business once services were finished with.

That left me home to watch a 20-minute video posted November 6 to Rumble's BLCKBX channel: Ex-Top Official Catherine Austin Fitts: Inside Trump’s Victory, RFK Jr., and the Deep State.

Former Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President George H.W. Bush, Catherine Austin Fitts, shares her insights on Donald Trump’s recent victory in the U.S. presidential election, the rising influence of independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and the impact of the so-called ‘Deep State’ on American politics. According to Fitts, change isn’t on the horizon—it’s happening right now. She also discusses the historic surge of independent voters, a movement that could permanently reshape the future of U.S. politics as we know it.

And then I did a lot of fast forwarding through a video published yesterday to Rumble's A Warrior Calls channel: MasterPeace Historic Results / CORRUPT CLOWNS & CORRUPT COWARD.

I skip through all of Christopher James Pritchard's promotions as well as his tedious rants about one day having charge of a courthouse to enact Common Law.

I also find that he has a lot of blind biases or even prejudices that I do not subscribe to.

Unfortunately, I missed out on the minute of silence at 11:11 a.m. because I was distracted by that video ─ it was 11:15 a.m. before I knew it. Most annoying ─ Christopher's video was not worth it.

I had my early afternoon nap, although I thought that it was longer than time proved once I was up.

My youngest stepson was the only person home after my brother's early departure, but the lad did not rise for the day until into the afternoon. I'm now unsure if he was even up yet when I finished my nap.

I was to find myself feeling some doldrums as the afternoon rolled on. Then after the early dark it impressed itself upon me that I was in some depression because of loneliness. I have to get to bed soon because I want to rise at 1:30 a.m. to begin readying for a five-mile+ walk, but right now it is 8:12 p.m. and my stepson and I have not exchanged a word, keeping to separate parts of the house. There is no animosity of any sort ─ we just have nothing in common, admittedly.

To numb my blues I chose to watch something here on my bedside computer and have some drink once I had my reasonably light supper. I chose Katy Keene ─ the only season's episode nine ("Chapter Nine: Wishin' & a Hopin'"). I'm no fan of the series and am primarily watching it just to be done with it, but the episode was nonetheless quite interesting ─ enough mini-plots going on to keep it that way. I would rather the heavy Gay element was not there ─ I certainly was not approving of the all-male mΓ©nage Γ  trois development that closed this episode.

Whatever.

My source for the episode was this link at RidoMovies.tv, should you care.

I was to slowly work through a can of Cariboo Malt, and then had a stiff shot of Captain Morgan Dark Rum (40% alcohol).

By the way, I noticed a short while ago that the cul-de-sac out front was wet from rain, so maybe my early a.m. walk is going to be, too. At least the Remembrance Day ceremonies in Whalley were to be dry.

It is now 8:40 p.m.
