Uncivil Wars

It seems to me that I was able to rise ahead of 3 a.m., so my cellphone alarm was not needed. But it was only shortly past 3 a.m. that it occurred to me that I should have readied and been on my way to accomplish what I had failed to do last week ─ namely, deposit my younger brother's monthly expenses reconciliation cheque.

It was twice as much as usual, but last week after walking the nigh mile to my financial institution's ATM, I found that it had been blocked off with barricade tape. I could see at the time that the glass screen had been all but shattered, so there was no telling what else might have been damaged.

So my damaged right leg got extra exercise from the walk, but that was pretty much the sole benefit.

And thus I made the deposit attempt again; and this time, everything was good. As well ─ just like last time ─ I was not to cross paths with any other pedestrians.

On my return walk, I stopped at the elementary school playground for exercise, and matched my recent bests. That is, in the seven sets of pull-ups and chin-ups, the first two sets of pull-ups resulted in three and then two repetitions; and the same went for the next two sets of chin-ups. But at the gymnastics-style rings, I am still held to one pull-up in each set.

And back at the jungle gym monkey bars where I started off, I used two bars for a pull-up, and then I held the hang for a 70-count.

After that I forced my bad leg to undergo 20 assisted full flat-footed squats, then 10 unassisted, and a final squat that I held for a 70-count before forcing a rise.

And I finished up with five slow full-range decline push-ups before heading the rest of my way home. By then it was quite light outside, so I watered the front yard garden plants before coming into the house.

It must have been just about 6 a.m. by the time I was back to bed.

My youngest stepson had still been up when I slipped away on my outing, but he had gone to bed by my return. He never rose today until into the latter afternoon, so clearly he is not working for whatever reason.

My morning began around or soon after 8:15 a.m. when I rose. My brother was already watching T.V. downstairs. This time I actually joined him a little ahead of 9 a.m.

Not too very long past 9 a.m. when he invited me to begin operating our Android TV Box, I led things off with a six-minute (6:24) video uploaded yesterday to YouTube's The WhatsHerFace Show channel: TRUMP vs ELON?! Biden has CANCER? Macron gets SMACKED! + More.

The clown show continues this week as Donald Trump and Elon Musk are locked in a Twitter slap-fight that feels less like a political drama and more like a reboot of Mean Girls. One’s got a chip on his shoulder while the other wants a chip in your brain. The feud may be embarrassing, but it sure is entertaining.

While Trump and Elon are busy trading blows, Emmanuel Macron has been taking a few blows of his own. Macron may be focused on foreigners, that hasn’t stopped his husband from shying away from domestics.

Welcome to the WEEKLY ROUNDUP! Where we revisit the most ridiculous news stories of the week.

Our next video was 1⅔ hours (1:41:42), and had been streamed June 5 to Rumble's vivafrei channel: Jailed for a Tweet! The U.K.'s Descent Into TYRANNY! Covid Talk With Jessica Rose & MORE!

We only watched until nearly five minutes over an hour because I wanted to ensure that we would have time for what I wanted to tune in next ─ Shetland. This time it was the premiere episode ("Raven Black – Part 1") of season or series two.

That actually brought us to nearly noon, so my brother returned to his bedroom for further rest.

Note that my wife had a full workday, so she emerged from her bedroom around 9:40 a.m., and managed to shower and otherwise ready and be off on her way by 10 a.m. She seemed reasonably cheery this sunny day.

Anyway, after my brother returned to his bedroom, I fixed up a light meal that I ate here at my bedside computer, and was back to bed for a nap by just about 1 p.m.

I napped, but found myself rising again a mere hour or so later. It initially seemed like I would have another lengthy afternoon sunning session of 1½ hours, if not slightly more.

But nope!

My brother was still here; and then he announced that he was going over to Surrey Place (Central city), and enquired if I wanted any groceries from Walmart (I requested a loaf of Silver Hills bread).

Once he was back, he still hung about until well after 3 p.m. Consequently I was not free to get outside and begin sunning until something like 3:42 or 3:43 p.m. Due to this, I cut my usual sunning time in half, and never even bothered exposing my back.

Afterwards back in the house, I made a post at my private blog, and then engaged some further exercising ─ some isometrics and more full flat-footed squats ─ in my wife's vacant bedroom.

And then I got to work on this post.

It is presently 7:16 p.m., so I am going to break for a small supper I must put together ─ my second and final meal of the day, as usual.

⭕⭕⭕

My supper was followed, of course, by a show and a can of Cariboo Malt (7.9% alcohol).

The entertainment was a series I do not seem to have watched since 2019. Back then, I did not bother myself with indicating which episodes of shows I was watching ─ I would only mention the series title.

And that may not always have taken place either. It is perfectly possible that I would not even bother mentioning the series if I had other matters to write about.

From what I gather from my record, the final episode of Krypton I watched was episode five of Krypton's first season. So this evening I tuned in episode six ("Civil Wars").

I watched it at this Tvids.net link ─ it resulted in the usual unwanted new browser for the gambling website Stake, and which hid behind the one I was using. I am wise to it now, so I look for the damned thing and just shut it down.

I watched the episode, but there was so much that was vaguely familiar. But if I originally watched beyond the fifth episode, why did I never say anything more about the series?

I will continue with the series as I have begun doing this evening, and hope for the best.

It was nearly 8:45 p.m. when the show was done, and a cautious peek to downstairs revealed that my brother was home watching T.V. with Bev.

I wanted to watch something else, but I decided it was risking getting involved with my brother. And so I whiled time away here at my computer, and now it's 10:31 p.m. ─ I wanted to be abed by 10 p.m. so that I could comfortably get up at 3 a.m. for another night outing.

Maybe I'll set my alarm for 3:30 a.m.
