A Younger Man's Yearning

When I rose overnight to use the toilet and saw that it was not quite yet 3:30 a.m., I was enormously relieved because it meant that I still had over 2½ hours of bed time remaining before my 6 a.m. cellphone alarm would be summoning me to get up for the morning.

I had been concerned that it might already be after 5 a.m., as happened yesterday when I rose for relief.

Still, at 6 a.m. I could easily have remained where I was.

The Ethernet is still inaccessible to our R69 Plus Android 14 TV Box despite the internet cable being perfectly okay when attached to our T95Q Android 9 TV Box, so I was unable to spend time working on the former. I am still resolved that a "factory reset" is going to be the only solution, but I don't want to do it until my brother and I have finished watching the downloaded movie that the MX Player will intelligently commence precisely where we last left off ─ I don't want the bother of switching the USB drive or stick over to the Android 9 Box and have to manually fuss around with the movie's playback or progress bar to try and attain that point of time.

As it happened, we were not to watch any more of the movie this morning due to lack of time, so the "factory reset" is still on hold.

I was out to the backyard tool shed for my exercise session with the usual result in the six sets of pull-ups and chin-ups ─ just one repetition in each set. And I also dealt with the squat work to strengthen my crippled right leg.

I was back into the house couple or so minutes ahead of 8 a.m., and dished up my day's first meal to bring upstairs here to my bedside computer.

My younger brother emerged from his bedroom after my meal was eaten, which probably took 10 minutes or so.

Several minutes past 9 a.m. I went back downstairs to join him for our morning T.V. together, the only time I have in which to watch the T.V. due to Bev hogging it once she is up from bed in the early afternoon until she goes to bed again for the night (and obviously the entire morning).

At my brother's invitation to begin operation of the Android TV Boxes, I led us off with a half hour (30:57) video uploaded earlier today to YouTube's AnitaK channel: He Beat the Ban! + Why this Veteran Says Canada's Military is Worse Than You Think.

Anita's guest was Jeff Evely.

I next tuned in a two-hour (2:04:33) video streamed yesterday to Rumble's PeopleForPeople2022 channel: REVISITED DR RIMA E. LAIBOW (Md) SPECIAL ROUNDTABLE

One of the guests or 'panelists' was James Roguski. However, I doubt that we got 10 minutes into the video and my brother expressed that it wasn't "doing anything" for him. So I cooperatively just backed out of it.

It's unfortunate that a ZOOM-type format can take so much tweaking for all concerned to get themselves fully set up and operational ─ maybe if all of the preamble had been cut out and the video had commenced at the point where everyone was present and contributing, my brother might have been more patient.

So I instead tuned in a 1¼-hour (1:15:42) video streamed two day's ago to Rumble's The Shadoe Davis Show: April 20th/2026- Carney Addresses Canadians, Poilievre Does the Same.

Tonight: Mark Carney addressed the nation yesterday and naturally the leftists all got on board praising him for his eloquence and leadership in the face of turmoil....Poilievre addressed Carney's address today and you'll hear both, Angus Reid says only 58% of past CPC voters stand by Poilievre as leader even as he was mobbed by UFC fans Saturday night in Winnipeg, Military enrollment is up but none of these people speak English or French, Auditor-General cites massive problem with getting foreign born students to leave the country, Dan Hartman's lawsuit against the federal gov dismissed, Eby backs down on Dripa, Danielle Smith pans Carney's 30x30 conservation plan, Kash Patel says arrests coming soon for 2020 election rigging....More!!

This video brought us too near 11:30 a.m. for me to bother tuning in the movie, for there are something over 40 minutes of it remaining, and my brother opined that he was already inclined to return to his bedroom for further bed rest.

I suppose I also went to bed ─ maybe just ahead of noon. Whatever the case, I never remained abed until as late as 1 p.m.

My wife had risen well into the latter morning, for she had today free ─ no work scheduled for her at the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time. So she got in some gardening and tackled other chores, including cooking.

Right now it is 4:04 p.m. and she is still home ... and cooking. I am going to break from my post this primarily overcast day. Soon enough I will be watching some T.V. shows here on my bedside computer and doing a little drinking. But for the present I will merely bide time to see if my wife is home to remain, or if she is going to be taking off like she usually does on Wednesdays, for she tends to have Thursdays off work as well. Her usual routine on Wednesdays is to drive away and not return until at least Friday early afternoon.

I will update this post later in the evening.

๐Ÿž…๐Ÿž…๐Ÿž…๐Ÿž…๐Ÿž…๐Ÿž…

Well, my wife took off without a word to me around 5 p.m. As might be surmised, I skipped my usual afternoon light exercise session in her bedroom.

The first can of Cariboo Malt (7.9% alcohol) was consumed while enjoying a very good episode of FBI ─ the eighth season premiere ("Takeover"). My source was at CineGo.co, but you will have to track it down there yourself.

It was unfortunate that the show's producers decided to kill off new FBI Agent Dani ─ actress Emily Alibi was pretty darned hot in her tight black outfit. I will have to search out some of that gal's other acting gigs.

The episode was done by 6:58 p.m., and I quickly enough realized that my brother must have been newly home a little earlier from wherever he had bused off to in the early afternoon to social drink.

My second beer accompanied FBI: Most Wanted ─ episode five ("Money Moves") of season six. This time my source as at M4uFree.cx.

It was sufficiently entertaining, and was done by 8:08 p.m.

My third show went down with about 12 ounces of Copper Moon Shiraz wine (13% alcohol). The show was S.W.A.T. ─ episode seven ("Inheritance") of season two. My source was at 1Moviesz.to.

Sure, it was enjoyable, but three straight mainstream cop shows in a single evening's viewing is uninspiring because I know it's hokum ─ the fuzz will never do wrong, and the bad guys are always that. They're never wrongly victimized like you or I might be in real life. And the cops always blindly just do their jobs, no matter how distasteful or false their actions may seem.

The same old 'cop-out' all war criminals have used to justify why they did what they did. And S.W.A.T. especially ─ they just roll in blindly to kill on command without needing to know the full background on their target(s). Like attack dogs, all they require is the command to go ahead ─ right or wrong? They don't need to know.

I despise that mentality.

Anyway, the show and my glass of wine were done by 9:06 p.m.

I was fully confident that my wife will not be returning tonight nor tomorrow night, so I do not have this hesitancy about getting to bed before she comes home from work.

I took the time to brush my teeth, thinking I might possibly cram in a sitcom with a little further drink before bedtime, but I came to deem that to be an expense I am really not in a position to handle. Then I got involved in watching t.A.T.u. and Alizรฉe music videos on YouTube, and there went my thought of maybe getting to bed early.

Then my computer froze during an Alizรฉe performance, and I had to waste all that infernal time forcing a shutdown and then a restart and reload because I had yet to publish this post.

Well, I am doing so now at 11:37 p.m.
