It was after 3:30 a.m. before I was to bed last night ─ sated, but spiritually crushed. Obviously I never bothered setting my cellphone alarm.
I had heard my wife arrive home ─ maybe around 1:30 a.m. She had today off work.
After I was to sleep, I was later to find myself lying awake and realizing that it was quite light outside, and the crows were squawking, so I decided to just get up if it was not too ridiculously early. It was 7:08 a.m.
We'd had quite a lot of rain overnight. It suited me, this overcast day.
There would be no morning exercise. And into the afternoon, I also opted to skip any afternoon exercising as well. I deserve punishment, yes; but at my age of 76, I just have no heart to push myself like I might have likely done as a younger, fitter man.
My younger brother was to emerge from his bedroom right at 9 a.m. Had he not, I would have assumed possession of the T.V. Nevertheless, after I joined him, it was likely not later than 9:20 a.m. that he turned it over to me so that I could start operation of our R96 Plus Android 14 TV Box.
I had no idea that our first video was to be our last, for with maybe 20 minutes of it remaining, he announced that he had to get ready to go somewhere. I didn't press for any details.
I had tuned in a video well exceeding an hour (1:10:07) streamed yesterday to Rumble's Candace Owens channel: PROVE ME WRONG: Tyler Robinson Is A Patsy. | Candace Ep 319.
Actually, we had to watch the video on Candace's YouTube channel where it was a wee bit shorter (1:05:03). The reason was that I discovered that the Rumble app in our new Android TV Box opens and plays videos full-screen without any other option, and in doing so it hides all controls to the video. There is no option to skip it backward or forwards by 10 or 15 seconds like was possible in our T95Q Android 9 TV Box, and the timer bar at the base of the video does not display when the video is clicked with the cursor of both the mini-keyboard or the remote.
Incidentally, I have to use both devices to operate the Android TV Box. One will not perform all of the necessary tasks involved in navigation nor in operation of the various apps when they are opened. All I needed the remote for with our old Android 9 TV Box was to turn it on or off, for I never could fathom if there was such a control on the mini-keyboard.
So there are 'bugs' I am still involved with in trying to adapt our new Android TV Box for ease of use, and this is a project I can only pursue in the early mornings before my brother emerges for the morning and before his girlfriend Bev gets up in the early afternoon and sits watching T.V. until she goes to bed at night.
My nap today may have been started before 11:30 a.m., for I needed it. Nevertheless, I doubt I fell into any sleep any easier than I usually do.
My wife was downstairs in the kitchen when I rose.
I alerted her that she must not touch our joint bank account if I am to pay our annual utilities bill by cheque rather than do it online ─ tomorrow is due day. My brother tends to prefer that he drops off a (my) cheque at City Hall the morning of due day ─ he's 'old school'. I don't mind it myself, for I try to avoid online payments of any kind as much as possible: "Keep cash alive!"
But I need my wife's cooperation in this, for otherwise when she parties she is a risk to the account.
The utilities bill is supposedly being split five ways, but as I expected, my wife playfully beseeched me to cover her share.
I see this afternoon that we are still getting a light rain ─ cool!
It's possible I was wrong about my wife having the full day off work, for she left here ahead of 4 p.m. But she won't be returning too soon, for she had given indication that she would be back to engage a chore in the bathroom on Friday. She wanted me to not remove plastic wrap or whatever she had taped over a portion of the wall tile that gets constantly soaked by her youngest stepson's frequent showers. I guess the soaking is seeping into the wall itself ─ a problem somewhat dealt with several years ago when she and both of her stepsons had to seek remedy. They even bought some new tile squares back then.
I have no idea why everyone doesn't just bath like I do.
I want to get started on some early drinking and some T.V. shows here on my bedside computer, for I would like to be to bed early this evening with the intention of rising at 3 or 3:30 a.m. for the two-mile round trip hobble to my financial institution's nearest ATM ─ I have a cheque for $642.40 from my brother to deposit.
I will conclude this post later in the evening. Right now it is 4:36 p.m. as I hear the rain falling.
⬤⬤⬤
My first show was done ─ along with a can of Cariboo Malt (7.9% alcohol) ─ by 5:40 p.m. Awesomely early for my agenda!
The show was Legacies ─ episode three ("You Remind Me of Someone I Used to Know") of season two. My source was this TVSeries.video link.
I enjoyed this episode! The football game was quite thrilling. And my gosh, those actresses portraying the three main young female students (Hope and the twins) are such beauties!
My second show started off with me having my supper ─ my day's second and final meal. The show was Harlots ─ episode two of season or series three. My source was this OK.ru link.
The show was done by 6:42 p.m., yet I still had a goodly quantity of beer remaining in my second and final can.
I enjoyed the episode, but didn't find it as rousing and enjoyable as I did Legacies.
Third up was The 100 ─ episode two ("The Garden") of season seven. My source was this TVSeries.video link. The show was done by 7:48 p.m.
It was good! I wanted it to continue longer because I am keen on knowing what has become of these characters.
That remaining beer in the can not only got me through most of the episode, but maybe four ounces of Sommet Rouge wine (12% alcohol) in a glass that my wife gave to me to finish has not been fully consumed, for I still have at least an ounce of wine remaining in the glass. (She also returned my four-litre wine box that I had left for her in her room late last evening before I shut myself up to pursue decadence.)
Incidentally, my brother had apparently returned at some point during The 100 from his social drinking, wherever it was that he had left to bus to towards mid-afternoon.
With my evening still so early, it seemed reasonable to watch one further show. And that show was Titans ─ episode 10 ("Fallen") of season two. My source was a third TVSeries.video link of the evening.
To better enjoy the show, I had topped up that glass of an ounce or two of wine until I had maybe a dozen ounces all told.
Titans is maybe a tie for second place for favourite with my current roster of shows that I follow evenings. Superman & Lois might be neck and neck with Titans at second. At number one is Friday Night Lights. Even so, this evening I have to say that I got more effect emotionally from Legacies than I did from Titans.
Anyway, the episode was done by 9 p.m.
Before the episode had begun, my brother stopped by my open doorway to say he would deliver a cheque from me to City Hall for the utilities early tomorrow afternoon, so I reckon I'll be writing one out tomorrow morning.
Alright, it is now 9:12 p.m. and I am going to brush my teeth and soon afterwards try to get to bed within an hour from now.
Thus, no more blogging today. The rain sounds to be falling heavier than I have heard it even last night.
