My cellphone alarm was set for 3 a.m. when I retired last evening, for I intended the two-mile round trip hobble to deposit my younger brother's cheque for something over $640, if I am remembering the amount correctly.
Well, after getting to sleep, I forget now why I was awake and checked the time ─ maybe I was uncomfortable and rose to use the toilet ─ but it was something like 2:28 a.m.
No bloody sense trying to get any further sleep! I rose.
Despite this early start, by the time I had gotten myself ready for the trip, and gathered up everything I needed ─ including signing the cheque, for I had neglected to earlier ─ it was around 4 a.m. before I was on my way into the chilly, wet night. It wasn't raining, but it had been earlier, and everything was wet.
I got the deed accomplished without issue, never crossing paths with anyone else, but it was impressed upon me as my jarring, crippled gait was affecting my hips, and my left foot was approaching a return of plantar fasciitis, I am extremely vulnerable now in my old age. I cannot even walk fast, let alone ever run away from trouble. I may not be a sitting duck, but I am one that has lost its wings and is stranded on land.
[From this point, Blogger betrayed me and lost my entire content. I only had it available in the Preview tab. This happened to me recently before ─ within the past couple of weeks. My sole option was to work out how to save the Preview tab and open it with Sumatra as a .pdf. From there I copied the missing text ─ but of course, all of my weblinks and formatting such as blockquotes were gone. I have no time to go through all of that again, especially when I have no idea if Blogger will waste the effort. Consequently I am just going to publish this bare text and hope that the text alone will be sufficient as my record for today. Blogger ๐ป๐พ๐ธ๐ด๐พ๐ทโ sucks, robbing me of hours of work.]
I suppose that it was nigh 6:15 a.m. before I returned to bed after spending some time fussing downstairs with our newish R95 Plus Android 14 TV Box. That device requires so much tweaking, if such is even possible!
I managed to be up again before 8:30 a.m., certain that I could hear the T.V. playing downstairs; but my brother only emerged from his bedroom soon thereafter.
It was after 9:10 a.m. by the time I joined him to operate our Android TV Box and tune in something other than his regular morning T.V. programming.
I started us off with a 12-minute (12:07) video uploaded earlier this morning to YouTube's AnitaK channel: Parlez vous Francais? The Governor General Can’t Either.
Air Canada CEO, Michael Rosseau stepped down for not speaking French—so why doesn’t the Governor General, Mary Simon? She can't speak it either, yet Carney ruthlessly criticized him. Let’s talk about the double standard no one wants to address.
I next tuned in the two latest videos uploaded to YouTube's Rachel Blevins channel:
⚫ 140+ TANKS DESTROYED: RESISTANCE FIGHTERS ‘BEATING THE HELL OUT OF’ ISRAEL IN LEBANON | Laith Marouf (27:57) Uploaded April 1 (2026)
It’s April Fools Day, which means someone must have told Trump that Iran has a new president who wants a ceasefire… because that’s the opposite of what Tehran is saying. This, as Trump now has a “2-3 week” timeline he is promoting for the end of the war in Iran, while the U.S. prepares for the possibility of an attempted ground invasion.
Laith Marouf, journalist and executive director of Free Palestine TV, noted that Iran has the power to decide WHEN this war ends and HOW it ends, and we are seeing the Axis of Resistance more united than ever, as Iran, Hezbollah and Ansar Allah join together in attacks on Israel, and Tehran continues to target U.S. vassal states in the Persian Gulf.
⚫ LEBANON FIGHTS BACK AS ISRAEL WAGES WAR ON JOURNALISTS, PARAMEDICS, CIVILIANS | Jalyssa Dugrot (25:23) Uploaded earlier today
The United Nations is warning that Lebanon is “at a breaking point” as Israel’s illegal war of aggression on the country has left more than 1,300 people dead (many of whom was women, children and healthcare workers) and more than 1.1 million people displaced.
Independent Journalist Jalyssa Dugrot noted that this is an “existential war” for the Lebanese people, and while many have been forced to live in cars and tents as they struggle to survive Israel’s latest attacks on their homes and communities, they are continuing to persevere and fight for their land.
And then I tuned in Resident Alien, our final video ─ episode six ("Soul Providers") of season four. My brother returned to his bedroom for some further bed rest after it was done.
I delayed excessively before seeking my needed nap, for my brother was again out of his bedroom. But this was for the best, as it turned out. He was going to take and drop off at City Hall the cheque I had written out this morning to pay for our annual utilities ─ I believe that it topped $2,880; but I had not signed it, as my brother discovered.
Anyway, this bit of accounting was another reason I was tardy in getting away this early a.m. on my outing ─ another loose end I had to deal with.
My brother underwent the drive whilst I was to bed for my nap, and he was back ─ he had also restocked on his beer ─ before I emerged from my bedroom following the nap. Anon I heard him parting from Bev as he left afoot for a bus to carry him off to social drink somewhere.
Later still, I had some exercise in my wife's vacant bedroom, but I was not at all in the mood for it, so I cut the usual four sets of one-legged chair sits (or wall chair squats) down to two sets. I do an unassisted good left leg squat for a 30-count; but because my bad right knee and quadriceps muscles are so crippled that I have to use both hands to support myself by holding onto something stable, I do a 50-count. I included all of the other exercises in the session that I normally do, though.
Gosh, it's already 6:02 p.m. This is late enough ─ time to take a blogging break and watch three T.V. shows here on my bedside computer while enjoying my usual two cans of Cariboo Malt (7.9% alcohol) and a glass of maybe a dozen ounces of Sommet Rouge wine (12% alcohol).
⚫⚫⚫
That first can of beer was finished almost to the conclusion of Van Helsing ─ episode four ("Broken Promises") of season four. My source was this CineGo.co link. The completion time was 7:14 p.m.
A good episode. I think I may have felt myself a little emotionally touched once.
That never happened at all with my second show and can of beer, both of which were done by 8:18 p.m.
The show was Madam Secretary ─ episode 12 ("Standoff") of the first season. My source was this TVSeries.video link.
Sure, the show was interesting enough, but none of the characters are identifiable to me. I cannot relate.
Anyway, I found that at some point my brother had gotten home and was watching T.V. with Bev.
My third show was done by 9:46 p.m. It was Betrayal ─ episode eight ("...One More Shot") of the only season. My source was this CineGo.co link.
I had taken the time to brush my teeth before watching the episode, so that is why I was finished the shows as late as this.
This is such a downer as a series that it can be difficult to watch ─ two adulterers blowing up their formerly happy marriages. It almost defies understanding. Peculiarly, the only true tenderness in the movie was at the very end.
Early enough, I cast caution to the wind, added maybe another three or four ounces of wine, and tuned in an episode of Victorious. Supposedly it was episode 11, but towards the end I realized that I had been foiled ─ this same website source has done this twice before.
I had watched episode 15 ("The Diddly-Bops") of the first season. My lying source was this CineGo.co link ─ the third link of my evening coming from that website, but notorious for failing me with wrong Victorious episodes.
I don't much mind that it was the wrong episode, for I will watch the correct one next time I tune in the series. At this point, there is no continuity from one episode to the next, for each is uniquely independent of the previous.
And I only watch the show for the flood of young females absolutely exuding estrogen even after better than 15 years. Absolutely lovely young ladies!
It is late enough, I think. Right now it is maybe 10:45 p.m., so I am going to publish this post and get to work finalizing and shutting down what I need to on my computer and then get to bed.
