Beyond Dream

Another morning that saw me rise to my 6 a.m. cellphone alarm; but this morning I was to be denied much work with tweaking our R96 Plus Android 14 TV Box because it somehow had no internet connection.

I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the cable a couple times, as well as unplugging the power cable probably even more times.

I suspected that my youngest stepson had interfered with the connection, so around midday I enlisted him to share in the dilemma. He immediately disconnected the cable himself, and all was well when he reconnected it.

I am still not convinced that he did not break the connection last night, and then reestablished it after he got up this morning well past 8 a.m. He had been speculating that maybe a spike in high data usage of our internet might be attributable to some malware in the TV Box ─ maybe something along the lines of Bitcoin mining.

Whatever the case, when my younger brother and I got together ahead of 9:20 a.m. to watch our usual morning T.V., I had to rely exclusively on the USB drive or stick that I have  lots of material downloaded into.

First off we finished the video we had to postpone completing late yesterday morning. At something over 1¼ hours long (1:17:33), it had been streamed July 1, 2022, to Rumble's America's Untold Stories channel: The Death of Elliott Smith.

Elliott Smith was seen as the voice of his generation until his life was cut tragically short. Was it self-inflicted or something else?

This is Part Two of our Elliott Smith coverage starting with The Rise of Elliott Smith https://youtu.be/MuVSj81W1zc

Then it was a six-minute (6:11) video uploaded April 22, 2021, to YouTube's The Why Files channel: The Dog Suicide Bridge | Why Have Hundreds of Dogs Jumped?

THE DOG SUICIDE BRIDGE. In Dumbarton, Scotland, there's a 19th-century gothic bridge that crosses a 50-foot ravine. It's officially called Overtoun Bridge. But it's unofficial name is the "dog suicide bridge."

Built in 1895, the ornate bridge leads up to Overtoun House, a 19th century manor built by wealthy industrialist James White on the outskirts of the village of Milton in the Scottish Lowlands. It spans Overtoun Burn, a deep gorge with a small river.

Hundreds of dogs have attempted to commit suicide by jumping off this bridge. Stories about Overtoun Bridge are all over the internet and have been featured on the TV series The Unexplained Files. There's even an entire book dedicated to the phenomenon.

But despite all this attention, the mystery is still unsolved.

Our third and final video was a long movie that we have yet to finish. All I will say for today is that it is extremely exciting. We had to postpone watching more than 40 minutes because my brother desired to return to his bedroom for further bed rest. He needs to fortify himself for his daily early afternoon pilgrimage via public transit to involve himself in social drinking.

I was well into the noon hour before seeking my midday nap.

I had my usual mid-afternoon light exercise session in my wife's vacant bedroom, just as I had my unspectacular backyard tool shed exercising early in the morning.

I have since had my supper, my day's second and final meal.

Right now it is 6:03 p.m., and I am going to take a break so I can watch my usual three shows here on my bedside computer while enjoying two cans of Cariboo Malt (8% alcohol) and a dozen or so ounces of Sommet Rouge wine (12% alcohol).

🟣🟣🟣

What a depressing feature I tuned in first this evening! And to think that I nearly drank my second can of beer due to the show's length ─ an hour and 20 minutes (1:20:12) ─ approximately twice as long as a T.V. show's normal length.

'Twas Black Mirror ─ episode three ("Beyond the Sea") of season six. All I can say is that if I was the astronaut whose wife (played by Kate Mara) and son were slaughtered by my fellow astronaut, and we were alone in a space craft after two years and with four more to go, the π’·π’Άπ“ˆπ“‰π’Άπ“‡π’Ή would pay ─ even if the craft is of necessity a two-man operation.

I don't recommend the episode.

My source was at TVSeries.video ─ I dare not link to it or I am running the risk of this platform un-publishing (i.e., banning) the post.

It extended to 7:36 p.m. I filled the final 20 minutes or so by brushing my teeth while watching it, rather than waste a second can of beer.

That second beer was to be shared with The Carrie Diaries ─ the series finale episode 13 ("Run to You") of the second season.

My source was at CineGo.co, and the show was done by 8:53 p.m. at latest. My brother seemed to be newly home from his social drinking.

I always enjoyed The Carrie Diaries, but I am glad the series is over with. Pleasant as it was, it was irrelevant to me.

Even so, this episode gave me some pause late into it when Carrie was saying goodbye to her posh apartment in New York City. I sensed how painful it would most likely be for me if I ever move out of this house that I have lived in since, I think, late June 2002.

I don't know what to elaborate that confession with.

A dozen or so ounces of wine accompanied The Gifted ─ episode eight ("the dreaM") of season two. Once more, my source was at CineGo.co. And the episode was done by 10:14 p.m.

I enjoyed this episode. A few times I was even touched.

God has to help me! This life I have cannot go on. I'm decaying, and swiftly ─ physically, spiritually, and mentally.

Deaf ears, though. Or else I just have no potential worth the expended assistance or helping hand.

But other than that, it's great being a hopelessly-in-debt and physically crippled 76-year-old!
