The Weight

I did not want to be getting up when my 6 a.m. cellphone alarm summoned me this morning! Even after I was up for a while, the thought of having my backyard exercise session was so intimidating that I considered just returning to bed.

Granted, last evening I failed to get to bed before 11 p.m., but it was not too much after that hour that I did retire. Why do I feel so poorly despite retiring on the proper side of midnight?

Incidentally, I heard it reported yesterday that as of May 1, "Stage 2" water restrictions are in force ─ we never even had "Stage 1" restrictions yet! Details on the so-called stages here.

I will still be watering our garden areas when deemed needed.

Only once over the wintry season did we get any snow, and only enough fell to whiten the ground ─ maybe not even an inch of the stuff.

I did have my usual morning tool shed exercises ─ the single repetition in each of six sets of pull-ups and chin-ups, followed by the squat work to strengthen my crippled right leg. It was after 8 a.m. when I got back into the house, finding my younger brother already watching his morning news shows.

I came upstairs here to my bedside computer and waited until a little past 9 a.m. before going back downstairs to join him.

Upon getting his invitation to start operation of our Android TV Box(es), I led off with the T95Q Android 9 TV Box to tune in a 16-minute (16:48) video uploaded yesterday to YouTube's AnitaK channel: Why Glenn Beck Says Canada Should Scare America.

Glenn Beck brings the receipts that Canada is no longer a free nation or "democracy." Progressives have transformed it into something much more terrifying and America could be next if we don't wake up!

Our next video well exceeded an hour (1:10:11) and had been streamed yesterday to Rumble's Kim Iversen channel: Israel LIES Again: Claims Its Not Killing Journalists.

The Kim Iversen Show LIVE | April 24, 2026 Steve Sweeney is the Lebanon Bureau Chief for RT. He joins the show to discuss the "ceasefire", Israel's targeting and assassination of journalists, and how he survived his near death experience after being bombed by the Israeli military. Switching over to our R69 Plus Android 14 TV Box, we then finished off the last half or so of the documentary we began two mornings ago, and which I had previously downloaded onto a USB drive or stick. At 50 minutes (50:52), the video had been published July 26, 2019, to BitChute's Adaneth channel: The Genius of Archimedes.

A 2003 PBS Nova Science Documentary.

A small Medieval prayer book was sold at auction. Miraculously, some original writings of Archimedes, the brilliant Greek mathematician, were discovered hidden beneath the religious text. Through scholarly detective work with the help of modern technology, this book now reveals Archimedes' stunningly original concepts, ideas, and theories--revelations that, if known sooner, might have reshaped our world.

Many historic figures have been hailed as ahead of their time. Few-if any-are said to be centuries ahead of their time. The Einstein of his era, Archimedes had a sophisticated understanding of mathematics, and designed marvelous war machines for his native Syracuse to use against the invading Romans.

Many of Archimedes' works disappeared during the Middle Ages, but some survived to help inspire the scientific revolution in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. One document that seemed irretrievably lost was his final treatise The Method, which reputedly explained how he achieved his brilliant results--secrets he revealed nowhere else. Now, over 2200 years later, the discovery of The Method has experts and scientists dreaming of what might have been if Renaissance thinkers and other great minds had known of his ideas and been able to build on them. NOVA explores Archimedes' rare writings, as well as the book's mysterious beginnings, tumultuous history and amazing discovery. As the ancient text comes back from the dead, it unlocks its revolutionary contents--the infinite secrets of one of history's greatest thinkers.

Our final video was The Last O.G. ─ episode three ("Tray Finds His Purpose") of season four. I had the episode downloaded as well, but can now only guess at my source. So I will venture that it was GOOJARA.to.

Thereafter my brother returned to his bedroom for further bed rest. I don't think I was back to bed for a nap until nigh 12:30 p.m. Whatever the case, I am unsure if I was abed over an hour. I think by then my brother had bused away to go social drinking.

My wife was up by then, for she only had to work the latter part of today at the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time.

She wasn't particularly friendly, so I avoided her mostly. She seemed to have left shortly after 2 p.m., which is about an hour earlier than she normally would have. Perhaps she had an errand or something to take care of first. But she left without a word to me.

I later took advantage of her vacant bedroom for my usual light exercise session around 3:44 p.m. once I was sure she was gone to work and had not just nipped out to do some shopping. Then I weighed myself while entirely naked, for all I had eaten to that point were my two mugs of coffee this morning.

I was at most just 181 pounds.

My supper in the early evening ended my fast.

Right now it is 7:15 p.m. and thus time for me to watch two or three T.V. shows here on my bedside computer to justify a little drinking. I will finish the post later this evening.

My first show was more than merely touching. Surely they didn't go and kill off Lulu? I'm speaking of The Guardian ─ episode 16 ("The Weight") of season two. When Nick revived in the passenger seat and looked over to her behind the wheel, with her head laying back and blood streaming across the side of her face, I imagined how I would react if it was my wife.

And damn, it hurt deeply.

My source for the episode was at GOOJARA.to, since it served me so well with The Last O.G. Of course, I enjoyed a can of Cariboo Malt (7.9% alcohol) with the episode, which was over by 8:09 p.m.

I heard my brother arrive back home no later than 8:17 p.m.

My second show was totally unexpected ─ a virtual horror movie. The beer was done well before the show.

The show was Black Mirror ─ episode four ("Mazey Day") of season six. I saw that I could have watched it at GOOJARA.to again, but I decided to go with TVSeries.video instead. Both sources had the video listed identically for length, right down to the final second.

Anyway, it was over by 9:10 p.m.

My third show was new to me, but I never expected it to be so darned long ─ well over an hour. It was Psych ─ obviously, the "Pilot" episode. I have to admit that it was more enjoyable than I expected.

I poured about 12 ounces of Chilean Vivo Reserva Sauvignon Blanc wine (12½% alcohol) from a previously unbroached four-litre box, and left the vastly depleted four-litre box of Sommet Rouge wine (12%) in my wife's bedroom.

She is not partial to white wine, and I only bought this box by mistake or carelessness. I understand why now she is not partial to it ─ the white was almost substanceless. It lacked the heavy and thick ─ almost creamy ─ body of a decent red wine.

I will strive never to commit this error again.

Yes, I enjoyed Psyche ─ I see it's potential for the popularity that it achieved.

There was no way I could extend the glass of wine for the length of the pilot; so after the glass of wine was drunk I lay on my bed and brushed my teeth for the remainder of the show (over 15 minutes). It was over by 10:46 p.m.

I saw then that my wife had arrived home at some point.

I am going to hasten through shutting down whatever I need to be done with here on my bedside computer and then get to bed ─ it is already 11:18 p.m. and I have yet to communicate with my wife.
