Blinders

Despite well over seven hours in bed, there was still some reluctance to be rising to my 6 a.m. cellphone alarm, but duty calls!

It was to be quite a sunny day ─ not the sort in which I like to head out to do any Sunday morning grocery shopping at No Frills a half mile from here. And though the store opens at 8 a.m., it was likely no earlier than 7:55 a.m. before I was to be on my way.

I managed to hold myself to spending just under $49. And by the time I had hobbled my way back home, not only was my younger brother not yet up, but he still wasn't at 9 a.m.

That was my cue to assume possession of the T.V. downstairs, taking it over with our R69 Plus Android 14 TV Box.

It was at least 9:15 a.m. before he emerged from his bedroom. By then I had a video lined up for us to watch, but the opening content proved most unappealing despite the host being someone I thought might prove entertaining.

I will not be sampling his wares again.

So instead I tuned in an 18-minute (18:50) video uploaded April 3 to YouTube's Juno News channel: Pierre Poilievre SLAMS radical NDP leader Avi Lewis and woke convention antics.

This week, Pierre Poilievre weighed in on the new NDP leader, Avi Lewis and his policy agenda. Harrison Faulkner asked Poilievre to comment on the use of equity cards at the NDP convention to determine speaking order based on skin colour, the flying of the Palestinian flag on stage and the frequent breakdowns due to misgendering from NDP members. This isn't your grandfather's NDP, and for Avi Lewis, that's probably a good thing, because his grandfather, David Lewis, who used to lead the NDP, wouldn't recognize the party his grandson now leads.

Harrison dives into the hilarious NDP convention antics and looks at the political reality of what Avi Lewis' leadership of the NDP means for both Mark Carney and Pierre Poilievre. A strong and broadly appealing NDP is actually good for the Conservative Party electorally, but a radical, hyperwoke NDP that appeals only to university students is possibly the best gift Mark Carney could have asked for.

Then I tuned in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ─ episode 11 ("From the Ashes") of season six. I've grown very impressed with how beautiful actress Chloe Bennet (Daisy) has grown since the series first began.

Our final video was Sherlock Holmes ─ episode six ("The Speckled Band") of the first season or series. My source was published January 8, 2024, to BitChute's Adaneth_TV channel: Sherlock Holmes (TV Series 1984) | The Speckled Band (S01-E06).

Thereafter, 'twas time for my brother's return to his bedroom for further bed rest. And early into the noon hour, I was to bed in pursuit of my nap.

My wife had a full workday this Easter Sunday at the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time, so she had emerged from her bedroom soon past 9:30 a.m. to shower, and was on her rather long drive about a half hour later.

Early into the latter afternoon, I had some light exercise in her vacant bedroom.

At this point in my day it is 5:22 p.m., so I am going to break from this post to have my day's second and final meal before I watch some T.V. shows here on my bedside computer and start on the first of two cans of Cariboo Malt (7.9% alcohol).

●●●●●

My first beer was spent very much enjoying The Rookie ─ specifically, episode four ("Cut and Run") of season eight. My source was this TVSeries.video link.

As already said, I very much enjoyed the episode, and was even emotionally touched towards the end.

The show was done by 6:51 p.m.

Next up was Doom Patrol ─ the finale episode nine ("Wax Patrol") of season two. My source was this M4uFree.cx link.

It was pretty darned good ─ I find actress Diane Guerrero to be intriguing. What a hot little package!

The show and my second can of beer were done by 8:03 p.m.

I was elated to discover that the next show on my rotation was my favourite ─ Friday Night Lights; specifically, episode 15 ("Blinders") of the first season. My source was this TVSeries.video link.

Lord, I love this series ─ I wish that I could live in fictional Dillon! I love so many of the people as presented.

Of course, all of that was over 19 years ago ─ the highschoolers are all very mature now after nigh two decades, approaching their 40s. Actually, actress Minka Kelly is now 45 years old, and nearly 46; while Adrianne Palicki is 42 and nearly 43. Even the actress (Aimeรฉ Teegarden) playing Coach Taylor's daughter Julie is now 35 or 36.

So that era is long gone, sad as this realization is. We can never go back.

I don't know ─ the episode maybe finished around 9:35 p.m., but I still had maybe two or even three ounces of Chronic Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Sir Real 2021 vintage remaining of the 12 or so ounces I had poured into a glass.

I did not intend to keep sitting up, but a sitcom was in order even though my wife arrived home at 9:42 p.m. However, the rotation proved the result of The Baby ─ episode three ("The Bulldozer") of the only season or series. My source was this TVSeries.video link ─ my third this evening, is it not?

I don't understand what a bulldozer has to do with the episode ─ I can't even recall the word being mentioned.

Anyway, the show was done by 10:30 p.m., and so was what had remained in my glass from Friday Night Lights. The Baby is just too freakingly bizarre ─ it disturbs me.

Right now it is 10:48 p.m. and I am about to publish this, and then attempt to get to bed as soon as possible ─ I should already be there, damn it.
