A Surprise Overnight Guest

Early last evening I must have downloaded at least 10 new streaming apps into our Android TV Box because my favourite app ─ BeeTV ─ had essentially stopped working. Yet after my younger brother was home from his 'social drinking', and we had watched an episode of one of our shows on an alternate app, I thought to give BeeTV a try and it seemed to be functioning properly.

None of the new apps match it for results, but I will keep them until any prove superfluous to my needs ─ this determination always takes time.

Besides, BeeTV may only have undergone a temporary resuscitation last evening. We shall see this evening.

My wife never showed up last evening following her full day working at the distant Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time. This only ever means that she is partying. And when my brother and I quit the T.V. into the latter half of the midnight hour and I checked my banking account's status online ─ my chequing balance only had something over $111 previously ─ I discovered that she had helped herself to $100. And she did so at the damned casino that she is addicted to.

Despite apparently gambling away over $1,900 of her own money at that establishment the night previous ─ for which she must have been sickened, for that would be half a month's earnings or more ─ she had gone right back to the same bandits to hand them over even more money.

The addicted dunce.

I have still not said aught to either of her two adult sons, but it is a struggle to hold my tongue. The truth is bound to come out eventually. The monthly mortgage is due on the 22nd ─ I will have to see where things stand by then, for I still must spend some cash that I have on hand on further Christmas gifts.

And I am sure as hell not going to do without anything to drink just because my selfish wife can't control herself! I will not shield her from the ire of her sons learning the truth if it comes to this.

She and I have separate bedrooms, but I heard her arrive home sometime last night ─ she was inordinately noisy. I had been sleeping, but by that time I was into one of my wakeful stretches, and had been considering rising to micturate.

The need was not urgent, so I chose instead to just seek some further sleep, which I succeeded at.

Generally I manage one last stretch of sleep just after the night is fading, but this morning I could not. And so it was that I got up around 7:30 a.m., and got to work adding some further content into a post that I have been working on for what seems a couple of months at one of my two hosted websites.

My brother never rose for over an hour later to shower, and then to have coffee and read the Saturday morning edition of the Vancouver Sun that I subscribe to.

He was to have to leave to pick up his girlfriend Bev at 10 a.m. to drive her to work, so during his absence I took the opportunity to visit the backyard tool shed for some exercise ─ primarily six sets of pull-ups and chin-ups.

It took considerable effort and some use of my legs to help kick my way up when the going got tough, but overall my repetitions in those six sets were 5 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2.

I have not weighed myself whilst dressed as I would be for the exercising out there, so I can but just guess that I likely weigh overmuch ─ I have not exactly been going hungry of late. I daresay that fully dressed and in a pair of runners, I might exceed 195 pounds. And since I am not quite five feet and 11 inches in height, that's a fair load to be pulling up for a 73-year-old.

After my brother was back from his errand, we soon began watching a couple of very recent Christopher James Pritchard's (A Warrior Calls) videos: Covid Lie Crumbles The Solution Remains and Horrific Malfeasance Kelowna Hospital.

Guests: Chad Hillert & his parents, Helmut & Marilyn Hillert

Chad Hillert (unvaccinated) is left in Kelowna General Hospital bed for 3 months in the hospital hall and previously in a small utility room with no window for 4 months. His parents are now denied access to their son. Christopher interviews Chad and his parents on the hospital malfeasance.

Bless Christopher for what he tries to do for people, but I have no doubt at all that he gets deluged with cries for help from so many people that he must feel both angry and frustratingly torn. It is impossible to help everyone.

I intended to watch a third video of his ─ the most recent; but inexplicably, as soon as I sought to tune it in, the Rumble media platform went offline.

Consequently, I resorted to a fan-created Star Trek episode that I had previously recorded ─ I believe that it might have been the premiere episode of a series. What an amateur production! I will not seek out any further episodes. None of the actors portraying the original characters even remotely resembled them; and Captain Kirk had an incredibly jutting dark-haired pompadour.

The special effects were ludicrous and cheap.

I already deleted the episode from the thumb drive I had it on, so now I cannot refresh my memory as to what the series was called. Better it remains lost to me!

While my brother and I were watching Christopher James, and he was in the kitchen doing something late in the morning, I was aware that my wife was moving about upstairs. Then I could hear a fairly faint unfamiliar female voice that I ascribed to being some distortion of somebody speaking well outside of the house.

Yet it maintained, and seemed to be growing a little louder as I became further aware of my wife slowly coming down the stairs behind where I was reclined watching T.V. So I looked.

To my great surprise, one of my wife's Thai friends was with her ─ I almost wondered if she had teleported into the house, and was befuddled as to how impossible it was for her to have somehow slipped past me if she had earlier come here to visit.

Of course it quickly dawned upon me that she had spent the night in my wife's bedroom ─ and that was why my wife was uncharacteristically loud in the wee a.m. when she came home. She was entertaining.

If my wife's friend Ui (pronounced like a clipped "Whee!") had been so inebriated that she did not drive and thus came home with my wife, then my wife had to be every bit as plastered. Or maybe Ui accompanied her home because of my wife's state ─ maybe Ui drove?

I don't know, but it was a big surprise to see her.

She's an attractive woman, and wears her hair blonde. She came to me for an embrace; and when my wife noticed my brother in the kitchen, she pointed him out to Ui by way of introduction, for they had not met before. At that introduction, Ui insisted on a hug from him, too ─ much to his surprise and enjoyment, I am sure.

There was a white vehicle outside that had come to pick her up, so she left us; and that was my wife's cue to return to her bedroom, for she looked wretched indeed.

She never did emerge to remain up until mid-afternoon; and shortly after 4 p.m., she left. Normally she works at the restaurant from 4:30 p.m., I believe, on Saturdays. She was going to be late if she had to do so today.

Anyway, she will be gone for the remainder of the weekend and not be back until probably as late as Tuesday early a.m. Due to her short presence this afternoon before she left, we had no discussion about her expensive misbehaviour. Besides, one of her sons was home and in the boys' den area, and might have overheard.

My brother had long gone for the day by the time my wife rose this afternoon.

Anyway, with darkness now upon me and my afternoon nearing an end, I am going to bring this post to a close and ready myself to make the four-mile round trip hike to the nearest government liquor store to see what is available as Christmas gift packages. I will also likely stop along the way to buy a couple $20 gift packs of lottery scratch tickets.

Since anything may happen during that dark trek (I do not drive), I will publish this post and save any accounting that I am able to make of the outing for tomorrow.
