Lies, Lies, and More Lies

After my younger brother was home last evening ─ well past 10 p.m. ─ following his daily socializing, we were to watch two series finales of T.V. shows that we follow in common.

The first was for the single-season series The Innocents.

My brother never enjoyed the series, often passing out for an episode's entirety, but he remained awake for this episode ─ it was something of a thriller!

However, it ended very disappointingly. It was obvious to me that another season had been intended, for the faithful viewer is left with only his or her imagination to fathom what the aftermath of that episode's conclusion was going to be.

I must say, I grew to very much like young actress Sorcha Groundsell. So much more could have been done with her in her role in this prematurely cancelled series.

The other series whose finale we watched was the comedy (and also single-season) The Strangerers. This series also ended without a sure conclusion.

I had no idea that the woman who joined the two alien 'cadets' during the last couple or so episodes as their 'Super Supervisor' was played by actress Morwenna Banks ─ the sassy dispatcher in the T.V. series Saxondale who always made the title character so very uncomfortable because he just couldn't match wits with her.

Morwenna looks entirely different in each of those series ─ it is bizarre to me. Here she is as Vicki on Saxondale:

And here she is as the alien Super Supervisor:

Excellent actress!

By the way, actress Sarah Alexander sure looked hot in her tight outfit, portraying some sort of special alien-hunting agent. I hope to get around to watching some of her other work ─ whatever I can find that is available online.

Anyway, after our time together watching T.V. via our Android TV Box (during which I added two cans of strong ─ 8% alcohol ─ malt to the three glasses of red wine that I had drank prior to my brother's homecoming), it may have been after 1:30 a.m. by the time I was to bed. As yet, my wife ─ who had worked the full day at the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time ─ had not yet come home.

We have separate bedrooms, so I never did hear her show up.

This morning the foot of snow that we already had was given an addition of another three or so inches, but by this time things were warming up and it was to soon begin raining lightly. Mid-morning, my brother decided to do some driveway shovelling, so I later joined him ─ I intended to go with him when he left to pick up his girlfriend Bev at 10 a.m. to drive her to work. I was into my final dozen of cans of malt, and thus needed to replenish my supply at the government liquor store near where she lives ─ roughly, two miles away from us.

We were to leave around 9:45 a.m., and as yet my wife had not emerged from her bedroom ─ she was scheduled to work another full day today, and has a fairly long drive to get to the restaurant which opens at 11 a.m.

Conditions for driving were quite bad ─ even main roads had not yet been ploughed fully clear. Nevertheless, my brother was careful, and the full excursion was without mishap ─ and I now have a further two dozen cans of malt.

However, my wife had already gone by the time we returned, so I never had any involvement with her whatsoever since she left for work yesterday.

My brother and I were to watch some morning T.V. ─ three of Christopher James Pritchard's (A Warrior Calls) efforts, all of which were uploaded two days ago:

This one was something of a hodgepodge, and only featured Christopher expounding, along with various video clips.

This one was also of considerable interest. Unfortunately, I now see that the Firefly devices are far, far beyond my financial reach.

In effect, the knowledge of this science is useless to me.

This post has taken me much too long ─ I want to cram in a Christmas movie while enjoying some red wine, so I am going to have to call it quits here.
