This post may be aborted, for it is mid-evening Christmas Day, and I have no true time for blogging.
The day has not been at all memorable, but I have had far worse Christmases.
Following yesterday's post, I added my Christmas T.V. viewing (via our Android TV Box) to include the very nice 2015 movie Magic Stocking. Actress Bridget Regan is absolutely striking, and I have been a fan of hers since the T.V. series The Last Ship.
Of course I watched Magic Stocking without my younger brother's presence. But once he was home, I tuned in 1949's Holiday Affair. Who doesn't know of actor Robert Mitchum? ─ but it was Janet Leigh who interested me. I recognized her name, but she is not an actress visually familiar to me. She looked especially young in this movie, and was approximately a decade younger than Bob Mitchum.
Heck, that movie was released in my birth year ─ I came along in October, so it was filmed well ahead of my coming into existence.
Sobering.
My brother came home too late for us to watch another movie, so that had to await this morning.
I left all of the Christmas lights aglow overnight, and was up this morning before anyone else. My youngest stepson was soon enough to follow ─ he had his day mapped out. His girlfriend Emma was coming around 10:45 a.m. to pick him up and take him over to her parents' home for Christmas dinner ─ with all of the local extended family.
And afterwards, she was supposed to be taking him to her grandparents' home.
I expressed that I would be terrified by the prospect of all of this, and he admitted that he definitely was too.
He left before my brother rose and joined me.
My stepson had distributed the gifts he and his brother had gotten for us; and I had laid out my gifts to the two lads near to where they both were asleep, since I had gotten up before anyone else.
When I finally did have my brother's company, I tuned in the 1950 movie The Great Rupert, a Jimmy Durante feature. However, I found young actress Terry Moore to be of considerable interest to me. The attractive young woman is still living today and is 93 years old ─ not so young anymore!
Unfortunately, the movie was quite ridiculous ─ definitely a B movie by my grading.
My brother and I got into another old movie, but I had to suspend it because it was into the noon hour by then and he had his daily socializing to leave for. We will finish watching the feature this evening after he gets home, so I will try to report a little on it tomorrow.
When he left, I watched one further movie before seeking a nap, for I had begun drinking following my first morning coffee.
The movie I selected was 2015's Merry Kissmas featuring attractive actress Karissa Lee Staples. It was a little hoaky, but I enjoyed it regardless.
After I was in bed seeking that nap, I heard my wife finally come home to prepare the Christmas dinner she had promised yesterday that she would come here to cook for us.
I nevertheless napped, for I was well affected by my drinking.
She was downstairs cooking when I rose a while later.
I took the opportunity to tune in yet another Christmas movie ─ 2015's Murder, She Baked: A Plum Pudding Mystery.
Apparently there are a few Murder, She Baked movies, of which I was unaware. Alas, I was conversationally involved ─ and even had my supper ─ at the dining table with my wife, so I never did immerse myself into the movie.
I will confess that lead actress Alison Sweeney is voluptuously desirous, but so was her T.V. mother as presented by actress Barbara Nivens. Even so, I was not immersed into the movie.
This ludicrous Blogger platform restricts us from allowing more than a 200-character contribution to our individual posts, and I was notified that I had exceeded my limit for this post.
Why is there a limit? I have no idea.
Nonetheless, I see myself left with scant choice but to conclude my post here. My brother and I watched a couple of further movies worth mentioning, and my youngest stepson eventually came home too ─ topics perhaps worthy noting.
But it is approaching 1:30 a.m. Boxing Day and thus no longer Christmas Day, so I am going to conclude this post here on this diatinctly rainy night.
