There were less than 10 minutes remaining of a movie that I had been forced to cancel out of early Monday evening as a result of my younger brother's unexpectedly early arrival home from his daily socializing. I watched that remainder early last evening.
The movie was 2014's Drunktown's Finest.
It proved to be quite interesting, so I will give it a "3" out of "5". The acting was quite good as well.
Of the three Navajo characters, I think that I enjoyed the story of Nizhoni, the 17-year-old adopted teen who had White parents, but wanted to find her Navajo blood relatives.
I have only now discovered that the actress playing that role is actually Gay and dabbles in using the ambiguous pronoun "they" that I refuse to recognize as being valid. So that discovery disappoints me.
The actor portraying transgender Felixia is an actual transgender whom Wikidata cites as being an "American pornographic actress". I found the facial features to be generally attractive enough, but gave a fail on legs ─ they were too scrawny and undeveloped.
Apparently the actor (Jeremiah Bitsui) portraying troubled Luther SickBoy Maryboy was the sole Straight actor among the three. He has considerable acting credentials, but I cannot claim to remembering him in anything listed, even though I have watched some of the T.V. series.
I had time to cram in a full second movie after Drunktown's Finest that I enjoyed far more, even though it was foreign and I required subtitles.
The movie was 2015's Mustang, which was an entirely Turkish film. This story of five young sisters was powerful, and I was smitten by how beautiful the five actresses portraying them were in working together.
I so badly wanted to see the tyrannical and predatory uncle brought to justice or even killed.
The scene at the end of the movie where the youngest remaining two sisters flee their restrictive family for Istanbul was truly exciting ─ what a courageous and loyal pair they were. I just hope that the actual finish to the movie meant that after finding their former beloved school teacher, she would shelter them and they would never have to fall under the power of their repressive family ever again.
I am still struck by how beautiful and wild the five sisters were together ─ the scenes of them romping were absolutely fabulous. It made me wish that I had young women like them in my life from whom I could draw strength, and serve as a devoted protector for.
I feel without reason, and that can be debilitating and destructive.
Because of the five actresses portraying the sisters, I would issue this movie full marks.

I would like to watch all five of the actresses in other roles, so I may yet get around to seeking out some of them.

After my brother was home a while later, I then used our Android TV Box to tune in an episode of Jack Irish before turning to OK.ru to watch another episodic movie in the old series Edgar Wallace Mysteries.
This time we moved on to The £20,000 Kiss. The OK.ru link is here. Thus far we have tuned in all of the movies in the order shown at Wikipedia.
We finished our evening with an episode of United States of Tara. Now we have just one further episode in that series to watch.
Alas, I did not properly follow my brother's suit and go directly to bed. Instead, I yielded to my peculiar depravity and did not make it to bed until after 2:30 a.m.
This has not been a good day because of it. I am feeling especially discouraged.

That is very interesting concerning the B.C. Conservative Party ─ I could actually see myself vote for them. But that will not be until sometime in 2024.
My brother had left during the viewing in order that he could pick up his girlfriend Bev at 10 a.m. and drive her to work, so despite how deflated I felt, I did venture out to the backyard tool shed for a session of some exercising. First, though, I weighed myself while fully clothed and wearing a pair of runners: 197 pounds.
I was unable to attain my current ceiling or maximum of repetitions in six sets of pull-ups and push-ups (which is 4 - 3 - 3 - 2 - 2 - 2), so I settled on seven sets as follows: 4 - 2 - 2 - 3 - 2 - 2 - 2.
The day has been fairly chilly, with a blend of Sun and lots of clouds.
I am considering getting out on a walk this evening that I hope will see me do some grocery shopping, but I am going to have to see if I can cop another nap ─ otherwise, I cannot do it. While watching T.V. this morning, I was beset with a migraine aura, and now have that nagging eyestrain-like headache that will likely carry over into tomorrow.
Failing that outing, I will get to bed relatively early this evening so that I can rise at 2 a.m. and quickly ready for one of my five-mile (minimum) walks.
I want to mention that yesterday I E-mailed Don, the chap I have met twice now on one of my early a.m. walks, and he replied back today with a photo of himself and his cat:
I am glad for him that he now has some close companionship, even if it is only a loving cat. We all need to feel loved ─ it is vital to our well-being.
My afternoon has essentially expired, so I am going to close this post and fairly soon see if I can manage that nap. One I had early this afternoon has not been sufficient.
