They Picked a Fight

As a result of my younger brother showing up as much as 30 minutes to an hour earlier than usual last evening, I had to cancel out of a movie I was watching, and repair to my bedroom to escape association with him. I had an early five-mile (minimum) walk planned that would require me to rise at 2 a.m. to swiftly ready for, so he was not to have access to me as operator of our Android TV Box (he does not understand its operation).

At most it was 9:18 p.m. once I got into bed.

After achieving sleep, there came a point when I wakened and ─ not immediately remembering that I had a walk planned ─ I checked the time because I believed that it was morning and perhaps late enough for me to begin my day.

It was only 1:15 a.m.

Somehow I must have slept a stretch of possibly three hours without any recollection of  having a wakeful period. This is rare indeed.

It was too early yet for my walk, so I sought some further sleep, and I may have just managed to do that before my 2 a.m. alarm sounded.

I rose and readied myself, and it was 2:16 a.m. once I was outside the locked front door and on my way down our driveway.

I had checked online and seen that the temperature was supposedly within the 3ΒΊ to 4ΒΊ Celsius range. It was a little chilly out there, and the sky seemed to have light puffs of cloud everywhere with the darkness of space betwixt.

My pace and demeanour was that of someone dopey with sleepiness.

As usual, two or three blocks from home I stopped at an elementary school playground to essay six sets of pull-ups and chin-ups. I had weighed myself while fully dressed and in my boots just before leaving home, and registered as something like 202 or 203 pounds, so I knew what poundage I was going to be labouring with.

Even so, I managed the usual repetitions in those sets of three in the first, then two in each of the succeeding five sets. They were not anything like excruciating, as is the case when I perform them here at home in the backyard tool shed. And once done, despite the very heavy breathing, I felt invigorated and loosened and wide awake.

I even had a steady, fast pace to my walk.

Almost two miles from home as I travelled beside 100th Avenue ─ it was approximately at the 14375 block (Google Map) as I headed for 148th Street where I would be turning right ─ I met with an oncoming figure who proved to be Don Rock, a chap I first met last Summer on a similar walk. At that time, the night was sweltering with lingering heat.

He and I caught each other up on events since that time, and I learned that he now has a young cat that fills a loneliness that he never quite realized was as deep in his life as it was. He lives alone otherwise in an apartment at the intersection of 100th Avenue & 140th Street, and turned 61 since we first met last Summer.

As before, he claimed to be busy writing, supposedly involved in television script work. And he also said that he has been spending a lot of time at Foxglove Supported Housing and Shelter (Google Maps) so that he could listen to the stories of people resident there ─ he reportedly is there in an official capacity, and is deriving a wealth of inspiration for his writing.

Fortunately, Don was on his way back to his apartment, and not inclined to throw in with me and accompany me on my stroll as had occurred last Summer. He is not a fast pedestrian, and cost me a lot of time last year.

As it happened last night, after applying a fair amount of jogging, it was 4:14 a.m. once I was back home and standing outside the locked front door. That is excellent time!

For once I found that not only were those pull-ups and chin-ups not exceptionally challenging, but even my jogging was far smoother and less cumbersome for me. Heck, even my walking was sharp-paced. It is as if some barrier has been broken and I now find myself in a slightly elevated stage of fitness.

May this be so!

It was no later than 5:10 a.m. that I got back to bed, but sleep was exceptionally difficult to seize. More than an hour later I was still awake. The sole reason that I believe I managed any sleep at all is because a couple of times I realized that my thoughts were actual dreams, and not random driftings of my unregulated thoughts.

And I say that despite remaining abed for perhaps over three hours.

A few times I thought that I was hearing rain falling as I did my best to sleep. Well, upon rising I found that it had been so ─ all was wet outside from earlier rain.

By the afternoon, we were experiencing lots of brilliant sunshine, but great dark clouds returned into the latter afternoon.

Naturally my brother and I watched some videos on T.V. over the latter morning, thanks to our Android TV Box. I led us off with yesterday's addition to Rumble's A Warrior Calls channel: They Picked A Fight, We The People WILL Finish It.

The video was something under an hour, and consisted of quite a montage.

Then we watched a short (under four minutes) upload of today to Rumble's Bright Light News channel: 15-Minute City Living Explained by Randy Hillier, Former MPP.

15-minute cities are being promoted lockstep around the world, as convenient, community-oriented living. In this spoof "simulation" of a 15-minute city, Randy Hillier explains to me how they'll look.

It was amusing, but surprisingly accurate!

Thereafter we only had time for yesterday's addition to Rumble's Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson channel, for the video exceeded 1½ hours (1:37:00): Live with Dr. Stephen Malthouse & Tasha Fishman.

Has knowledge of the abuses that hospitals committed during the covid lockdowns made people more afraid of going to the hospital? Do we need patient advocates? What is the answer? Dr. Stephen Malthouse is here to help us make sense of it all.
Tasha Fishman will join us to talk about how things like non-binary, gender neutral language and drag queen story hours are fueling the Unschooling movement.

I really like Tasha Fishman!

Since this video brought us approximately midway through the noon hour, my brother sought bed rest, for he would soon be leaving for the day to socialize. I was having my nap when he left.

I intend to finish watching the remnant remaining of the movie that I had to cancel out of early last evening, so I expect that I will be reporting on it tomorrow.

Perhaps I will even find time to watch a full second movie ─ I am in no rush to make an early bedtime this evening.
