My Early A.M. Walk Rewarded!

Twitter: Christine Anderson

Before I had quite realized it last evening, it was 10 p.m., so I had to put some hustle into getting to bed ─ my cellphone alarm was set for 2 a.m., and I was not allowing myself as much time to sleep as could have been.

Nevertheless, when my alarm sounded, I did not feel too sleep-deprived.

The house was in darkness, so I readied for my five-mile (minimum) walk in peace and privacy. And just before leaving, I checked the temperature hereabouts online, seeing that it was some fraction above 3º Celsius; then I went to the bathroom to weigh myself fully dressed and wearing my boots: maybe 193 pounds.

It then occurred to me to take another look at the temperature so that I could note just what the fraction above 3º it was ... only to discover that it was now mysteriously 0º Celsius even.

Well, so much for any temperature accuracy.

After I was outside the locked front door and on my way, I saw that it was 2:17 a.m.

Early into my walk it was apparent ─ and this is often so ─ that my somewhat groggy condition was resulting in me walking in a somewhat staggering fashion. And by the time I reached the fairly nearby elementary school playground where I would be performing six sets of pull-ups and chin-ups, I briefly wondered if I was up to par for the exercising.

The metal bars were sopping wet with condensation, so I had to wear my slim gloves, but I managed my current ceiling maximum of repetitions in those six sets ─ three repetitions in the first set, and two in each of the subsequent five sets.

As always happens, the challenge loosened me up and energized me.

Not too very much farther into my walk as I was passing a cement-bock retaining wall that had two tall (half litre) cans sitting on it, I glanced at them as I was passing them by ─ they were maybe just above hip level.

Was I seeing correctly ─ was there no telltale pull-tab opening in either can?

'Twas so!

Then just what were these beverages, if they were indeed unopened?

My hopes were rewarded ─ they were beers. And strong (8% alcohol) beers at that ─ imported Danish Faxe Royal Strong beers.

I had nothing to carry them in, so I opted to hide them out of easy view basically where they were, for there were leafy shrubs behind and almost atop the retaining wall, with their foliage obscuring the ground.

I was not yet quite a mile into my walk, so the trick now was going to be trying to remember the combined litre of beer ─ it would be just like me to have the two cans slip recollection by the time I was back this way.

Fortunately, that did not happen. Not even three or so blocks of sustained effortful and rather slow jogging pushed them from memory.

There was nothing else eventful about the walk, and I was back home at the locked front door by (I believe) 4:09 a.m.

Note that this was the second consecutive walk in which I could hear untold numbers of frogs chorusing in distant Green Timbers Lake hidden deep within the Green Timbers Urban Forest Park (Google Map). My route involves its boundaries of 100th Avenue, 148th Street, and 96th Avenue (and Green Timbers Way).

It is possible that I was back to bed a bit ahead of 5 a.m. ─ my eldest stepson had risen shortly before to ready for his 12-hour workday shift that starts at 6 a.m. at Tree Island Steel. I did not want him to realize that I was not in bed, so I had shut my bedroom door and wound things up rather smartly here at my computer (which I keep in my bedroom).

My official morning began around 8:30 a.m. when I rose anew. By then, my brother had newly gone downstairs and was watching T.V.

We were later to watch Odessa Orlewicz's hour-long rather interesting livestream of yesterday: interview With Grizzly Patriot Mark Friesen About Better Health & PPC vs Poilievre!

It's been too long since I had my buddy Mark Friesen Grizzly Patriot on the show. So much to discuss. From a health miracle that happened for him super unexpectedly, to the PPC vs Conservatives. Mark will tackle questions from viewers about Max, and give his views about the state of Canada.

The video can also be found at this BitChute link.

My brother had obligated himself to driving an older chap he knows to a doctor's appointment quite early in the afternoon, so at the start of the noon hour he retired to his bedroom for a bit of a rest. When he later emerged and soon left, I had yet to tackle my needed early afternoon nap, so I did indeed do that.

The day has been mainly sunny, but too cool to just sit outside for sunning purposes without bundling up warmly. I chose to remain indoors.

I intend to reward myself with one of those cans of beer awhile later while I watch some T.V. prior to my brother returning home ─ whenever he does ─ well into the evening, so I am not going to prolong this post unnecessarily.

Then later in the evening once my brother is home, I will have my usual two cans of strong (8% alcohol) malt while we watch an episode each of shows that we watch in common via our Android TV Box ─ exactly how we watched Odessa Orlewicz's video on T.V., by the way.

Consequently, this will not be an early evening by any stretch.

And so I close with three photos that my wife posted to her Facebook account at 4:25 a.m. Pacific Time Zone, or 12:25 p.m. local Rome (Italy) time where she presently is, visiting a sister of hers who lives there.

She merely captioned the images with: 🥰 งามบอคะ 🌸🌺🌹.
