It required me to drink a can of Cariboo Malt (8% alcohol) last evening while watching a women's MMA match, but I managed to get away on the four-mile round trip hike to the nearest government liquor store for a dozen more cans of the beer ($20.25 in total).
I had left home around 8:15 - 8:20 p.m., knowing that the liquor store closed at 9 p.m., but somehow confusedly translating that into thinking that I had well over 1½ hours in which to comfortably make the store before it closed.
A little under a half mile from the store, I checked the time and saw it to be 8:46 p.m. Then after I put away my cellphone to which I had referred for the time, the reality of the situation started to seep into my awareness.
Aghast, for the first time since I was at home, I understood that 9 p.m. was indeed not 10 p.m. as I had somehow been deceiving myself was my cushion of time.
And so I undertook unplanned jogging along University Drive from just past 105-A Avenue (Google Map), desperately hoping to make the liquor store (Google Map) in time to be allowed inside.
I did somehow succeed.
I was back home before my brother, so by the time he did show up, I had full control of the T.V. under the aegis of our Android TV Box.
I tuned in an episode each of three of the T.V. series we follow, leading off with one of Chicago Fire ─ episode 18 ("What's Inside You") of season 10. It was definitely engrossing, featuring Chief Boden (in uniform) as one of the hostages in a supermarket when a young new prisoner escapee crashes into the building and has a firefight with pursuing cops.
Then I tuned in Chicago P.D. ─ episode 19 ("Fool's Gold") of season nine. Again, most engrossing ─ and guest actress Molly Burnett as a suspected villainess was exceptional at both garnering sympathy and then suspicion in ongoing tandem. I found her to be remarkably alluring.
The third show was Wolf Creek ─ episode three ("Chase") of series or season two. Somehow my brother chose this show in which to pass our for maybe 15 minutes fairly early into it.
My wife had worked from the latter afternoon, and came home sensibly into the latter evening. The poor thing was still up when my brother and then I retired for the night ─ I think that she got into and killed a bottle of red wine. I do not recall when I made it to bed, but it would not surprise me if it was past 2 a.m.
I was up this morning well ahead of 8 a.m.
And when my brother and I got together for some morning T.V., it was almost exclusively to watch some of the latest fare at Rumble's A Warrior Calls channel:
- Treason & Corrupt Cowards (published today)
- Massive Corruption in Saskatchewan & Government of Canada (published yesterday)
The former included a short segment with Scotland's Robert Sproule (Rob S), and the latter featured Boyd Anderson. As my brother observed, Boyd is extremely confusing, jumping all over the place. He almost seems strung out.
My wife rose during the Boyd interview, and was to have to work the latter part of today ─ a consecutive such partial workday.
She was to partly spoil the last rather titillating scenes of an episode of Peep Show by summoning me upstairs. The episode was the first ("Dance Class") of series or season two.
So what did my wife want of me?
She asked if I could give her $100 so that she could go shopping at T&T Supermarket.
And so it has begun already this month. Granted, it was for a worthy cause ... but even so. I cannot afford the household's groceries on top of all else.
She clearly asked with some awkwardness; and when I presented her the money, she assumed the Thai wai in her sincere gratitude.
When she left to shop, she was remarkably quick in making her return.
Yes, I am glad to be able to gift my wife money at such times, but I cannot afford it. I have felt under some duress ever since.
It has not helped early this evening when I approached my youngest stepson with the annual utilities bill that arrived yesterday ─ if I am remembering correctly, it may have exceeded $2,300, and has a due date very early in April.
The lad wanted to know how much my brother and I are expecting each of us to be contributing, but that is not a conversation my brother and I have had. We want first to see what the two lads will offer.
This financial burden of responsibility has me heavily laden with despair ─ I want none of it!
Earlier I had unwound a little with my supper and two cans of Cariboo Malt late in the afternoon as I watched the 2017 Christmas movie Christmas Princess.
What a beautiful young lead actress was Nicole MuΓ±oz! I was almost positive that I had seen her before, yet even though I now know that I did watch her in the series Defiance, that cannot be why she seemed so familiar.
The movie was not at all the sort of Christmas story that I most like, but Nicole kept me invested ─ Lord, she is attractive!
Even the actress (Kaaren de Zilva) who portrayed her troubled birth mother had a major 'happening bod', from what I could see.
However, I have no desire to be watching the movie again, despite enjoying it well enough. It just was not the kind of Christmas movie I seek.
Note that it can be presently watched at this link at Hura!Movies.
Look, it is already after 9 p.m., and I have to get up at 1:30 a.m. to begin slowly readying for one of my wee a.m. five-mile+ walks, so I have to call it quits on this post and get it published. I need a few precious hours of sleep!
