Depth Charge • Aftermath

With no joy this morning, I rose to my 6 a.m. cellphone alarm, for I needed to have time to normalize and make the mile-long round trip to shop at Cedar Hills' No Frills after withdrawing $200 from the Vancity credit union ATM in the same shopping plaza.

Unfortunately it was just past 8 a.m. before I left home on the venture, but at least the sky was heavily overcast, everything was wet, and it was spitting some rain. My favourite public weather!

Everything went well, though, apart from the hobble that my walk has become ever since damaging my knee last March 1st.

No one was up yet when I got back home (my youngest stepson never even went to bed until after I had risen at 6 a.m.); and in fact, my younger brother never emerged from his bedroom until well beyond 10 a.m., so I had full possession of our T.V. by then.

Our T95X [it is actually T95Q] Android 9 TV Box played flawlessly once again ─ it had done so yesterday morning as well. I swear, I am nearly convinced that it knows a new R69 Plus Android 14 TV Box arrived early Friday evening to replace it because for several days previously it had been malfunctioning by freezing and/or shutting itself down as often as every 10 minutes ─ this was why I had ordered the new Box from Amazon Canada.

I am not about to bother with setting up the new Box as long as the old one keeps behaving, and the Box seems to realize this, desperate not to be relegated to past history.

The first video I tuned in was 17 minutes (17:08) and had been uploaded yesterday to YouTube's AnitaK channel: “It Got to a Boiling Point as They Follow ICE Around”.

Tensions around ICE in Minneapolis finally boiled over after a deadly encounter involving Renee Good. New video, protests, and shocking moments raise serious questions about how this unfolded — and why it escalated the way it did.

The second video we watched was not quite three minutes (3:56) and had been uploaded yesterday to YouTube's Tajana Cekic channel: My theory on why white liberal women follow ICE around.

I’m about to piss off a lot of feminists with this video, just know your triggers bring joy to my heart 🤣

I was not fussy about my third selection because it was 1⅓ hours (1:21:57) and watching it meant that we would have no time to finish the movie we had twice before watched portions of. The video had been published yesterday to BitChute's TheWarAgainstYou channel: Cognitive Dissidents: From Venezuela to Oceanian Technate & Tokenization.

The Cognitive Dissidents return for the first episode of 2026 to offer fresh takes on the recent happenings in Venezuela with the US arrest of Nicolás Maduro, the future of free speech and the impending rise of the global technocracy via tokenization.

When after 10-15 minutes my brother voiced demur, I was fine with forsaking it and tuning in the movie, which we then watched to its conclusion.

The movie was 'crap', but we watched it for nostalgia's sake ─ it was 1950's At War with the Army. Our source had been published July 12, 2021, to Rumble's Classic Movies channel: At War with the Army (1950) | Directed by Hal Walker - Full Movie.

I'm 76 years old, but I have never been a Jerry Lewis fan, even as a kid. His comedy voice was annoying and completely unrealistic to me.

The movie ended at noon, and that was when my brother returned to his bedroom for more bed rest. I had eaten before he joined me in the morning, so I was probably back to bed for my nap by 12:30 p.m.; and although I may have been in bed for 1½ hours and did nap, it didn't feel restorative enough ─ I wanted to remain there longer.

My wife never emerged from her bedroom to shower until well after 2 p.m. Apparently she only had to work the latter part of today at the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time.

She seems to be avoiding me now that she had yet to repay the promised $500 she borrowed from me 10 or more days ago. I believe that I am going to need that money in order to cover the next mortgage payment on the 22nd, so she had better smarten up. She passed right by my open bedroom doorway to go downstairs to the kitchen area as I sat here at my bedside computer; and then just past 3 p.m. she went out the front door and left, never having spoken a word to me.

I only had a partial exercise session in her vacant bedroom around 3:30 p.m., for I had determined that I wanted a full session of backyard tool shed exercising, preferring the fresh, cool, and moist air (it was raining).

Heck, I even managed an opening set of three pull-ups, as well as two chin-ups in each of the two sets of those. It was a good decision to exercise there.

Right now it is 5:44 p.m., so I am going to break from this post and have a light supper. Then I will watch a couple or so shows here on my bedside computer while enjoying two cans of Cariboo Malt (7.9% alcohol).

Having exercised out in the tool shed, I just may have the resolve to get up at 3 a.m. overnight to deposit my brother's monthly expenses reconciliation cheque at my financial institution's ATM a mile from here, for I won't need to be concerned with having any exercise at the elementary school playground.

⬤⬤⬤

My first show was Rescue: HI-Surf ─ episode 13 ("Depth Charge") of the only season. My source was this uFLIX.to link.

It was darned good ─ and rather emotional towards the end. It's amazing how realistic this series is, as well as the actors' characters.

It must have been getting close to 8:10 p.m. by the time the episode concluded, and my brother got home from his social drinking about five minutes later. I'm sure he had a wonderful time of his public transit in the rain.

My next show was Sight Unseen ─ the premiere episode ("Tess") of the first season. Again, my source was a uFLIX.to link.

I like this series! I am pleased with myself for having chosen to watch it.

The episode finished well ahead of 9:30 p.m. ─ time enough for a sitcom. My wife was newly home, to boot ─ but I wanted to watch the comedy and add a good shot of Lamb's Dark Navy Rum (40% alcohol) to my evening's drink consumption.

And thus it was that I watched Kitchen Confidential ─ episode two ("Aftermath") of the only series. My source was this Tvids.net link, but the website is deceptive because it will throw up another browser or two for gambling or porn websites. These new browsers hide behind the one being used for the show, so a person is not even necessarily aware that the browsers are now present.

Anyway, following the comedy, I brushed my teeth here in my bedroom. My wife's bedroom was ajar by only three our four inches ─ just enough to give her privacy. We had yet to speak to one another.

And now it is 10:46 p.m. and I am going to start shutting down everything still open here on my computer, and quickly get to bed. I truly do hope to rise at 3 a.m. and make that hike or hobble to deposit the cheque.

It sounds like the rain has ceased.
