It would have been wonderful not to have risen to my 6 a.m. cellphone alarm today, but I wanted to hobble the half mile to No Frills after it opened at 8 a.m., and I need the two hours for normalization.
At times overnight I could hear it raining, and that was to be the morning situation as well ─ just like yesterday. So for me, it was ideal for going public, since few are out there in poor weather walking for mere pleasure.
Everything went well, except I completely forgot to ask if they sold wall calendars.
My younger brother was up and watching T.V. news by the time I made my slow return.
I joined him around 8:50 a.m. after I had put away my purchases and then dressed down in my bedroom.
When he eventually invited me to begin operation of our Android TV Box, I tuned in a 1½-hour (1:31:57) video published earlier today to Rumble's TheWarAgainstYou channel: Between Ignorance and Evil - Thoughts on Venezuela. The Duke Report 12 hours ago.
Apparently it was "mirrored" from this YouTube link.
As the video wore on, I was almost certain my brother would voice his desire that we watch something else, but he said nothing contrary.
We were to only watch one further video before my brother announced that he was returning to his bedroom for more bed rest. The 27½-minute video had been uploaded October 23, 2013, To YouTube's The Best Film Archives channel: A Day in Vietnam | US Marine Corps Documentary in Color | 1967.
Jack Webb was the narrator.
I fixed up a meal based around more of the damned ham my brother and Bev had cooked late New Year's Day. I had already eaten that day, but I've had a large portion each day since. However, I am unsure if my brother is partaking of any more of the mass.
I am no fan of pork, except maybe crispy bacon, of course. Tomorrow I will suggest that they put the large remainder into the freezer for some future ham soup, for it is not improving by just sitting out on the dining table day after day.
I only ate about half of the dish that I had created for my day's first meal, saving the remainder for my second and final meal today.
My wife emerged from her bedroom while I was having that luncheon here at my bedside computer, and while she was in the bathroom showering, I opted to seek my usual daily nap, partly to avoid her in case she wanted money from me.
It might have been around 12:30 p.m. or soon after when I sought that nap; and when I rose later ahead of 2 p.m., my wife was gone. It is now 5:36 p.m. as I type these words, and she never returned. If she was scheduled to work the latter part of today at the Thai restaurant where she is employed part-time, she must have gone directly there after whatever business took here away during my nap.
Or maybe she was supposed to have worked the full day, and was late getting up due to having partied too much last evening? I have no idea.
I had some exercise out in the backyard tool shed early into the latter half of the afternoon ─ I am still pathetic using the thick sides of that child's slide ladder spread across some rafters that is my only means of pull-ups and chin-ups. A mere repetition in the six sets I engaged.
Then I tackled the squatting exercises to build strength in my damaged right knee's lower quadriceps.
Later I had a wee bit more exercise in my wife's vacant bedroom once I was confident that she was not coming home from some long errand.
I have had that second meal while working on this post.
And now I am in the mood for some drink and two or three shows here on my bedside computer, so I am going to break from this post for a few hours.

With considerable reluctance, I tuned in a Christmas movie ─ reluctant, because I think that I essentially have Christmas out of my system.
The movie was 2019's A Merry Holiday, also called Mistletoe & Menorahs. My source was this uFLIX.to link.
The premise did not much appeal to me, but I soon found the movie to be charming.
And then around the 58-minute mark, I suddenly became deeply affected for the first time, and this was to last for the duration of the movie. I even wept a little.
Lead actress Kelley Jakle proved to be absolutely wonderful and desirable in the best ways. Her name pops up in my Blogger labels, so I'm betting I watched her in 2018's Christmas Harmony. I just do not remember her, unfortunately.
Until that 58-minute mark, I had thought that I might be able to get through the movie on just a can of Cariboo Malt (8% alcohol). But I became so affected that I first wanted to pour myself a good shot of dark rum, but instead chose to pour maybe four ounces of Mission Ridge Premium Red Wine (13% alcohol).
The movie likely ended no later than 7:50 p.m., and I was to see that my brother had returned from his early afternoon bus ride to go social drinking. He seemed to be downstairs passed out in his favourite chair in the dark living room while Bev watched whatever was on T.V. by herself.
My second show was truly arresting, for it was Titans ─ episode two ("Rose") of season two. My source was this RidoMovies.tv link. These episodes seldom disappoint!
And there went my second can of beer.
Finally, I poured the shot of Lamb's Dark Navy Rum (40% alcohol) and tuned in the sitcom Whitney ─ first season finale episode 22 ["Something Black, Something Blue" (Part 2)]. My source was this uFLIX.to link.
I noticed in some of those full-body screen shots of the three main gals that "Roxanne" (actress Rhea Seehorn) seemed to have the nicest-muscled calves ─ I like that!
But you think what you prefer, of course.
Anyway, the show probably ended around 10 p.m. That felt like enough of an alcoholic buzz for this evening.
I hope that I can get to bed this side of midnight ─ the accursed madness is seeking control.
